FPL Breakfast Club – Who Got the Assist?

We’ve got Tom and Nick, both halves of popular podcast Who Got the Assist, on the show this week to discuss Gameweeks 14 and 15.

The Gameweek deadline has already long-passed with Cardiff beating Wolves on Friday night but there is still plenty to chew over ahead of today’s matches.

We will hear about the moves that Joe, David, Nick and Tom thought about and which ones they actually did in the recent days.

Then we’ll have a tentative look forward to Gameweek 15 which starts in just a few days.

With no lunch-time match we sadly won’t be able to bring you any team news either. You’ll have to wait until next week for that!

    The only point I would make on this Aguero news if true is the guy had 2 weeks off was in LA having a great time, plays 2 games in a week and needs a rest? Maybe it's an injury

        Yes but potentially not being in the squad plus it's a dead rubber vs Hoffenheim week after. Should surely be on the bench for emergencies.

    Just looking at good fixtures (i.e. avoiding Top 6 teams).

    Spurs: GW15 to GW27 - play only MUN out of the Top 6 in that run (13 weeks - 8 home games)
    Chelsea: GW15 to GW25 - play MCI and ars out of the Top 6 in that run (11 weeks - 5 home games)
    City: GW15 to GW24 - play che and LIV out of the Top 6 in that run (10 weeks - 4 home games)
    Arsenal: GW16 to GW28 - play liv, CHE and mci out of the Top 6 in that run (13 weeks - 7 home games)
    Utd: GW18 to GW29 - play tot and LIV out of the Top 6 in that run (12 weeks - 5 home games)
    Liverpool: GW22 to GW31 - play only mun out of the Top 6 in that run (10 weeks - 5 home games)

    If you're wildcarding now, you are looking at Spurs, Chelsea and City with a dash of Arsenal.

    I'm looking at Lloris and Kane from Spurs. Alonso and Hazard from Chelsea. Sterling and Laporte from City. Bellerin and Laca from Arsenal. Need to see some of these guys prove their fitness though.

        West Ham are the filler team. So you get a couple of West Ham. But the staples of your team will be players from the Top 6 clubs. So choosing the right ones is important. Looking at:

        Lloris - (Hamer)
        Alonso - Laporte - Bellerin - TAA - (AWB)
        Hazard - Sterling - Anderson - Ozil - (Hojbjerg)
        Arnie - Kane - (Kamara)

      Fixtures don't matter for City. Chelsea vs City should have goals and Chelsea will be blown away by Citeh.

      I don't like the fixture congestion for Spurs despite their solid run. The mids are potential rotation risks and Kane starting a few games with Moura doesn't particularly excite me.

          I'm not underestimating anyone here. City are a class above any other team right now. The Anfield game was the only 'tricky' fixture for them IMO which is now out of the way. Any other league defeat for them can be labelled a mere upset.

              Europe is a totally different ball game. There's a reason why Guardiola shuts the journalists when they ask him if City are one of the favorites to win UCL. If league form was everything, PSG would have back to back UCLs in the years gone by.
