Rodgers makes tactical changes in his first match as Leicester manager

Watford take on Leicester City in the first of three Premier League matches to be contested on Sunday.

Kick-off at Vicarage Road is at 12:00 GMT.

Brendan Rodgers takes charge of the Foxes for the first time and there is plenty of intrigue as to what impact the former Celtic boss can have on Leicester’s most-popular Fantasy assets.

Rodgers has made one change to the team that beat Brighton in midweek, replacing Demarai Gray with Wes Morgan.

That would appear to signal a move to a 3-4-3 system, with Ben Chilwell and Ricardo Pereira deployed as wing-backs.

Harvey Barnes and James Maddison will flank Jamie Vardy in a front three.

Javi Gravia has also only made one change to his starting XI, with Jose Holebas – back from a two-match suspension – replacing Adam Masina.

Holebas has been directly involved in more goals (three goals, seven assists) than any Fantasy Premier League defender this season.

The Hornets have kept clean sheets in each of their last two league matches at Vicarage Road.

Maddison and Vardy were both on the scoresheet when Leicester triumphed 2-0 in the reverse fixture in December, while Pereira banked maximum bonus points.

Watford XI (4-4-2): Foster, Holebas, Mariappa, Cathcart, Janmaat, Pereyra, Capoue, Doucoure, Hughes, Deeney, Deulofeu.

Leicester City XI (3-4-3): Schmeichel, Chilwell, Maguire, Evans, Morgan, Pereira, Ndidi, Tielemans, Barnes, Maddison, Vardy.

I think he’s very overrated. He was fired from Reading as he almost got them relegated to league 1!

I think Rodgers sold himself short taking the Leicester job and he should have held out for something better i.e. Everton or Chelsea.

I reckon that the players will ultimately throw him under the bus like they done with the last few managers they have had.

Give him a chance! Chelsea would never offer it to him, and Leicester have just as good prospects as Everton. Owner is committed and has a lot of good young players to work with.

Celtic fan? I think his timing was perfect. Celtic sold some top players in the summer, didn't get any replacements, at loggerheads with the board. Yet they're comfortably at the top of the table, won the League Cup, on track for the SCup...so if they win an unprecedented treble treble, he'll get the lion's share of the credit.

And he's leaving having won every domestic trophy he's contested... Scottish Cup could have ruined that if he stayed and they lost.

I bet he's also happy Lennon is there to slot right in. Celtic fans getting quite a nice cushioned fall.

He's back in the PL with arguably the team with most potential (and resources) outside the top 6. It couldn't be any better for him

I read that David Weir commented Celtic are a bigger club than Leicester and there's guaranteed European football. The Celtic squad isn't equipped for Europe as it stands and whilst Celtic are a massive club and all that, does he really get a buzz from away games at Hamilton and St Mirren. I really do make a compelling case

Tbh i do not follow the SPL because it is a dead league with Celtic dominating and i can see why he wanted to come back to England because it is a far better league.

I am not a Man United fan and do not follow Celtic unlike a lot of my Irish compatriots as i find the whole sectarian factor to the game up there unacceptable.

Not a Celtic fan, however, the long and short is, Rodgers really isn't a good manager, winning Trophies for Celtic isn't difficult, others have achieved it before him.

Rodgers can't organise defences, his record in the transfer market is extremely bad. His record in Europe is the worst I've seen for a manager of his profile.

I don't expect Leicester to improve under him, he certainly won't be getting them into Europe whilst he's there.

Chelsea have just as good a chance of qualifying for CL by finishing Top 4 as they have of winning the EL.

No. The EL route is easier. And Luiz getting a rest was quite predictable.

In addition, the EL is the only trophy they can win this season. Chelsea aren't Spurs. Winning things matters.
