Scoutcast Episode 288 – Missing

Undaunted by a heavily reduced fixture list, the Scoutcast crew deliver one of their longest episodes of the season.

There may be only five matches taking place in Gameweek 31 but Joe, Luke, Az and David discover there is a wealth of different player options and strategies to deploy.

Discarding their usual player, team and talking point format for the community questions section, they focus in detail on the best assets to own position by position this weekend.

While there is a consensus around goalkeepers, our Scoutcast regulars find plenty to disagree about among defenders, midfielders and strikers.

Luke is packing his team with differential ‘swords’ to attack the fixtures, while David is making sure he uses his two free transfers to include some ‘shields’ to keep up with the pack.

Az is on the search for low-owned assets too and is even considering a notorious Scoutcast ‘magic bean’. Unsurprisingly, Joe is not keen.

The number of hits to take in a Blank Gameweek also get an airing, as does advice for those deploying a Free Hit chip to cope with player reduction.

Regular features are also included, with the round-up of the previous Gameweek giving Az a rare chance this season to boast about a good score.

Best differentials, top clean sheet shouts and transfer and captaincy plans for the Gameweek ahead are also revealed.

    Worth taking a -4to get in Rice for the blanks, and be able to field 11 players?

      Could be worth it although they have Chelsea in 33.

        Practically need to get 2+2 points. Upside is CS GW 31 or any bonus points or attacking returns. Downside from 4 points is if WHU concede more than 2 goals in one of the matches...

    Been pondering Schar to Chilwell all week for a -4 will give me 10 players in gw31 if I make the move or 9 if I don't FH in gw32 and will have 11 players for gw33 still have my TC & WC. What do you guys think yes or no?

    Anything worth doing with this lot (damagecontroll at best):

    Plan is FH in 32 and WC in 34

    Fabi
    Robertson - Schindler - Pereira
    Salah - Haz - F.Anderson
    Vardy - Higuain

    Hamer, Schlupp, Doherty, Camarasa, Pogba, Jimenez
    1 FT, - 0,6 ITB

    A. Pogba + Jimz --> Mane + Barnes (-4)
    B. Pogba + Doherty --> Mane + Daniels (-4)
    C.Doherty --> TAA
    D. Camarasa --> Brooks

    Hypothetically, assuming you have 11 already, would you do Hazard to Mane (-4)?

      I would just go on a betting exchange and back Mane to score anytime, or lay hazard to score anytime if you fancy that type of one week gamble 🙂
