Fantasy Premier League managers might want to exercise caution over West Ham assets at the start of 2019/20.

The Hammer start with a tough opening weekend fixture against Manchester City, but it is hard to guarantee Fantasy potential even in the more appealing matches that follow.

Looking at last season’s data, there is a possibility that their new-look attack could take some time to gel.

Meanwhile, the Hammers defence was questionable in 2018/19.

We’ve taken a look at all areas of Manuel Pellegrini’s team last season to see where Fantasy manager can find value in 2019/20.

As this article uses data from the Fantasy Football Scout Members Area, only those signed up for the new season can access it in full.

I am currently on Robbo + VVD and more scared about TAA as a non owner
All 3 are amazing, you will always be scared not to own the 3rd one.
I just got the 2 most nailed defenders because my heart is weak and I can't handle the team sheet stress 😛

RMT - I feel you can do a lot with 5atb, sacrificing a bit of flexibility - But making up for it with KWP & Trossard being an easy swap to other players, (Barkley/Zouma)

    Ryan, Button,
    VVD, Robbo, Digne, Zinchenko, KWP
    Salah, Sterling, Trossard, Dendoncker, Hayden,
    Kane/Aub, King, Wickham.

Sheff Utd have bought McBurnie though for big money and have three other strikers that could start ahead of Robertson despite preseason?

      1. Nabs Kebabs
        • 14 Years
        7 years, 15 days ago

McBurnie has hardly spent any time at the club and one of the other characters is 33 years old. Robinson himself cost around 8m which is a lot for Sheffield. Had a full season and played very well. At 5.5m he's a pretty good bet at the start of the season.

        1. jia you
          • 10 Years
          7 years, 15 days ago

'McBurnie has hardly spent any time at the club'
What has that got to do with it, he'll be first choice and can also see old Billy Sharp starting as forward ahead of Robinson! Riskier punt than many make out I feel but I could be way off mate!

          1. Tsparkes10
            • 8 Years
            7 years, 15 days ago

Nah Robinson will defo start with either Sharp or Mcgoldrick I'd think. But... We've spent 10 mil on Mousset and 20 mil on Mcburnie so if you're talking money then Robo doesn't start 😉

          2. Nabs Kebabs
            • 14 Years
            7 years, 15 days ago

Mcburnie will take some time to adjust to the team mate. People always assume that just because a player was signed for "big money" he will walk into the team. Hardly ever the case. Robinson clearly has a spot to lose there and at 5.5m he is well worth the punt imo

I did the same last season and enjoyed not having to worry about my bench too much in the second half of the season...plus not having to use second wildcard to get in bench players for BB was a relief frankly! I play the game differently to most on her though tbf!

    Really stuck with my last

    Heaton / Button
    ????/ ??? / VVD / Montoya (Rico)
Salah / KDB / Perez / Barkley (Dendo)
    Kane / Auba (Wickham)

    Have 11m and looking at

    6m Digne
    5.5m Zinch / Coleman / AWB
    5m Zouma / KWP

if i went 5.5 + 5 then i could upgrade Rico or Button

    Heaton
    VVD, Robbo, Digne, KWP
    Salah, Kdb, Fraser, Perez
    Kane, King

Have 0.5 in the bank should I save? Can also do Digne to 5.5 (AWB, Zinc).

Last spot on my team is going to be between Stones and Zinchenko.

Feel like surely Laporte + Stones has to be Pep’s first choice starting centre back partnership this year, whilst Zinch is more likely to get attacking returns but is more likely to get rotated.

    Thoughts?

Hard to say, I think both will be rotated.

This - Zinc is short term so I'd grab Stones and just know he will miss some games.

I think they are both at a high risk of rotation, im on Zinc for now but will transfer out if it looks like he is going to lose his spot. I'd also add in that it wouldn't surprise me if Pep played Walker or Fernandinho at CB in certain games....

What do you think? Pretty template other than going with Ederson and Jimenez. I think Ederson is a good set and forget because it's the easiest way into MCI defense, and gives me 2 city players instead of one. Jimenez is a punt? Perhaps Jota is cheaper, but I have a feeling a lot of people will regret not getting him for 7.5. Not sold on Ake, could switch to KWP or Boly.

    Ederson
    Robbo VVD Ake Dunk
    Salah Sterling Fraser Perez
    Wilson Jimenez

    Button Greenwood Dendocker Kelly

If I was to punt on a 5m Def then it would be Zouma not Ake, id also keep an eye on Wolves line up tonight if it looks like Nuno is going to play a 2nd string team in EL and keep the others for EPL then Jimi could be good...
