Budget FPL defender Kilman returns as Podence and Neto lead the line for Wolves

The penultimate match of Gameweek 14 sees Burnley play host to Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Kick-off at Turf Moor is at 17:30 GMT.

The headline team news is the recall of Max Kilman (£4.2m) to the Wolves starting XI after a four-game absence.

Kilman is in for Willy Boly (£5.5m), who was an injury doubt prior to the game and who is only among the substitutes this evening.

Another ‘flagged’ Wolves player, Leander Dendoncker (£4.8m), misses out altogether.

Marcal (£4.8m) and Fabio Silva (£5.2m) are both benched as teenage midfielder Owen Otasowie (£4.5m), Joao Moutinho (£5.2m) and Rayan Aït-Nouri (£5.0m) are also promoted to the starting XI.

The omission of Silva from the line-up will presumably mean that Daniel Podence (£5.5m) and Pedro Neto (£5.9m) will play as a two-pronged strike force tonight.

Not one for making wholesale changes, Sean Dyche has made only one alteration from the side that drew 0-0 with Aston Villa last time out.

Ashley Barnes (£6.0m) is in for Jay Rodriguez (£5.8m) up top.

Neto is the most-owned player on show tonight, closely followed by Kilman.

Not one of the Clarets’ squad has a double-digit ownership, although the in-form Nick Pope (£5.4m) sits in just under 10% of teams.

Pope has a better points-per-match average this season than any other goalkeeper who has made more than one start.

Neto, meanwhile, is the highest-points scorer among sub-£6.0m midfielders.

Burnley XI: Pope, Lowton, Tarkowski, Mee, Taylor, Brady, Westwood, Brownhill, McNeil, Wood, Barnes.

Wolves XI: Patricio, Semedo, Saiss, Coady, Kilman, Ait-Nouri, Otasowie, Moutinho, Neves, Podence, Neto.

tl;dr: DGW26 isn't likely to be significantly better than DGW19 for Bench Boost

LONG time lurker, rare poster. With the latest news, I decided to compare the potential DGW fixtures for 26 vs 19. Assuming they made it the FA Cup QF (or rescheduled an already missing fixture), here are the potential DGW fixtures for each team. The teams with standout fixtures appear to be Villa (assuming they don't put their Man City fixture in 26), Brighton, Fulham, and Man City. If they don't turn things around, do we really want to load up on Brighton and Fulham players in a Bench Boost?

BUR: tot/LEI (could also get tot/MUN)
        BHA: wba/NEW
        CHE: MUN/liv
        EVE: SOU/wba
        FUL: cry/LEE
        LEE: avl/ful
        LEI: ARS/bur
MCI: WOL/WHU (could also get WOL/AVL)
        MUN: che/cry
        SHU: LIV/AVL
        SOU: eve/tot
        TOT: BUR/SOU
        WBA: BHA/EVE
        WHU: mci/ARS

The following are either/or fixtures as teams play each other in FA Cup round 3, so both can't make QF:
AVL: lee/shu (could also get lee/NEW OR lee/mci)
        LIV: shu/CHE

        CRY: FUL/MUN
        WOL: new/mci

        ARS: lei/whu
NEW: WOL/bha (could also get OR WOL/avl)

So I wouldn't put off the Bench Boost JUST because you think GW26 will be better, especially if you still have your first Wildcard. If you don't have it, WC 25 and BB 26 could be better depending on how set up you are for BB 19.

No, but if you don't have your first Wildcard and have to take, say, 12 points of hits to prepare well for a GW19 BB, you might be better off using TC in 19 and BB in 26 after second Wildcard.

Good post. Also GW26 the CL is back in during that time so could see rotation from teams still in it.

This is a reason i'm thinking TC in 19. Good rest for the teams and no CL fixtures. The cheaper players on bench don't play cl CL anyway and it's easy to pick nailed cheap players.

I'm just wondering because everyone seems to be using a chip or two over the next few weeks but won't there be double game weeks and blanks from GW29 onwards?

The midweek after the FA Cup semis is the main open one this season. The speculation is that the fixtures involving semifinal teams will just slot in there, thus not creating any blank/doubles. There are likely to be one or two due to the already postponed fixtures, but not much more.

Thanks very much, really useful. The key question is when to WC for a good DGW. Looks like some difficult double ups. In my mind, the bench boost just follows the wild card. The players on the bench are usually from the smaller clubs so nothing wrong with some in form Brighton and Fulham players.

Your thoughts on my transfer plans will be appreciated. Currently with 2FT...

        Martinez, (Forester)
        Chilwell, Cancelo, Dallas (Bednark,Douglas)
        Salah, Bruno, Son, KDB, Grealish
        DCL, Bamford, (Brewster)

        GW15: KDB + Brewster > Soucek + Kane
        GW16: Save
        GW17: Kane + Douglas > Firmino + Coufal
        GW18: FH
        GW19: Forster > Fabianski

My DGW19 bench will essentially include: Fabianski, Soucek, Coufal, Bednarek

        Blank 18
        Double 19
        Double 26
        Blank 29

        How does this plan sound?
        FH BGW18
        Plan for DGW19 tc/bb
        Plan for DGW26 tc/bb
        Wildcard to prepare for BGW29

AVL NEW could also feature in GW17, but it’s unlikely as there should be plenty opportunities for them to play later on when the schedule isn’t as hectic.
