After an eventful Gameweek 14, in which I almost committed the deadly sin of selling Mohamed Salah (£12.5m), I couldn’t be happier with the end result: a total of 93 points and an overall rank well inside the Top 20K for the first time since Gameweek 10.
Considering the rumours from several sources saying Salah was going to be rested at Selhurst Park, I almost pulled the trigger and sold him for Kevin De Bruyne (£11.8m) on Saturday morning. However, since I wasn’t 100% convinced by the rumours, I decided to hold fire and hope for a cameo from the Liverpool midfielder at the very least. After all, it would be heartbreaking to sell him ahead of such a nice fixture just to find out the rumours weren’t true.
However, the rumours were very true and he was indeed benched. But Salah doesn’t need many minutes to wreak havoc and after his 16-pointer, I was relieved to have decided to save my transfer. In addition, Ruben Dias (£5.7m), Andrew Robertson (£7.3m), Jack Grealish (£7.8m) and my captain Bruno Fernandes (£11.0m) all delivered nine points or more, which felt great after three red arrows in a row.

Finding it tough to decide on a couple defender picks, I have to get one in now and one in 17, one has to be a dgw player and id like both or at least one to have good fixtures post the doubles.
So my options are:
Now
A> Stones
B> Dier
C> Taylor
D> Dallas
GW 17
1> Stones
2> Dallas
3> James
4> Justin
Stones - is good this week and the best option post doubles but could be rotated.
Dier - is good for the next 4 but not great after 18
Taylor - is decent now but double isn't great and post 19 is terrible.
Dallas/James/Justin - all have decent fixtures and attacking threat but all have some issues

- Pereira may be a risk to Justin by gw19.
- James my worry would be will ongoing management of his knee impact on playing both in the dgw
I like Stones atm - seems to have locked a 1st choice partnership with Dias at least until his next howler. Bought him in myself this week and could be golden for a while.
That all said Dier and Dallas if you need nailedness.Dier and a WHM def rotate pretty well though 20+ for a while - I think WHM have the best dgw for defs.

my current def is Coufal, Lamptey, Lewis, Mitchell and I got Robbo in for Chilwell a few days ago
My initial plan was Stones in for Lamptey this week as his fixtures post the double are great and I couldn't figure who to get alongside him so maybe I go for Dallas then as the second option coming in for Lewis in 17.
Maybe I shd just get Dier now and Stones in 17 and just go with one of them in the double, I think they will likely outscore taylor type options maybe even Dallas, and will leave me pretty sorted long term.
Thanks though narrowed it down to 2 of those three then I think.

All chips available except the first wildcard.ur team is set up for the blank in 18 so I would get Dier in this week for ideally Ayling but check the news on Chilwell if he is close then keep him otherwise ship him out and you can maybe do hokey cokey with Kdb and salah, kdb to salah next gw for 2 gws and get kdb back for 18 and then FH in the double in 19
If going to BB in 19 (which looks good for you’re squad imo) Then I’d upgrade Biss>Soucek and Button>Playing 4.5 GK And then Watkins>Adams (and maybe DCL>Antonio) then BB would be my plan with this team.

I'd aim to scrape 18, TC Salah in 19 and save your other chips for the future DGWs.

Definitely not this. Walker is back soon, and Chilwell trained this week so is fit for Arsenal, and if not then Villa. Waste of a transfer.
Your chosen tactic should depend on your team.
Currently you have 9 players for BGW18, so for me don't use any chips that week.
Then you have a few options for DGW19: either TC, BB or FH. For me, I would save TC for a smaller DGW. BB is better utilised after a WC (so target the DGW26 for that maybe). FH would be my choice, as then you can focus your transfers between now and BGW18 to try to get 11 on the pitch, without worrying about missing out on big points in DGW19.
