Kane missing for Spurs as Guardiola starts Grealish and Mahrez

The most-anticipated Premier League fixture of the weekend sees reigning champions Manchester City take on Tottenham Hotspur, as Nuno Espirito Santo begins his reign as manager. (We’ll be following the match live and discussing key points in a live YouTube watchalong).

For the home team, Harry Kane (£12.5m) misses out completely with Son Heung-min (£10.0m) set to lead the line in his absence.

The South Korean international has impressed during pre-season and has an excellent record against Man City. In fact, he has only scored more goals in all competitions against Southampton.

Japhet Tanganga (£4.5m) starts at right-back, a role he was trialled in during last weekends friendly win against Arsenal, alongside Davinson Sanchez (£4.5m), Eric Dier (£4.5m) and Sergio Reguilón (£5.0m).

Dele Alli (£6.5m) features from the off, too, with new arrivals Bryan Gil (£6.0m) and Cristian Romero (£5.0m) both having to settle for a place on the bench.

As for Manchester City, new signing Jack Grealish (£8.0m), owned by 24.4% of Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers, starts for the visitors in north London, with Riyad Mahrez (£9.0m), Ferran Torres (£8.0m) and Raheem Sterling (£11.0m) completing the forward line.

Kevin De Bruyne (£12.0m), meanwhile, is on the bench with John Stones (£5.5m) and Kyle Walker (£5.5m), while Phil Foden (£8.0m) misses out with a foot injury as expected.

Kick-off at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is at 16.30 BST.

Very happy Benrahma worked out. One of those picks that you wouldnt even think of were it not for the pre-season research. Feels that extra bit rewarding

And a nice “price point” as well… good chance Sarr or Willock can be a viable switch if he falls out of form or favour

He also looks like he's going to play in Lingard's role which means he's effectively playing as a false 9 a lot (with Antonio moving wide) and might play up top whenever Antonio is injured.

How is it spoon fed? You still have to actually pick him. Benrahma is 6.8%, and 30% owned in my OR, which is still quite low

A lot of others spoon fed which did bugger all, so swings and roundabouts in that aspect.
Which actually I suppose is doubly bad as anyone fed from the spoon will now spit those ones back out which will devalue them, being bad news for holders

Had him in my pre-season team all week, then I got Coufal in and though t triple WHU too much and swapped for Buendia. Sometimes my brain is just irrational..

Agree. One of the rarer times pre-season has genuinely helped out. I saw he was putting in some good involvement so decided to watch the Atalanta match despite the commentary. Was 100% sold on him after that match. Shot-happy, on the end of chances, in and around the box, creating chances (intentional or not!) - exactly what I wanted to see from an FPL player.

He was so involved that I considered just going with him and no Antonio, but the goal out of nowhere & Antonio's numbers when fit last season made me keep him (phew). In fairness, the lack of other options also helped that.

I took my eye off the ball on that one it was between Jota and Buendia for me. So it was never one of those I was going to get Benrahma decisions. I have 1m itb to absorb price changes think I will be OK until gw 3 between Benramha and Rafinha in for Greenwood. The more I think of it Benramha looks like the better pick with Palace that gameweek.

Great start for me with 106 points, but I certainly made a mistake by having Troy Deeney in my team.

How to deal with him now?

    A) Simple downgrade of Deeney -> Dennis this week

    B) Save transfer, play either Veltman, Amartey or Gilmour this week, upgrade for GW3

I would go A because Dennis looked fantastic even though he is yellow flagged. Watford have great fixtures annoyed I did not have a clue about Dennis at 5m can mean lots of cash saved.

Plus wasn't Veltman a covid close contact will he play next gameweek. Vestergaard may mean that Amartey's time is up

Gilmour against Man City? Not sure about playing him. Even though Man City have poor 'form' 😀

    Hi lads
I trust you are all well and enjoying having the footie back as i am 😀
    Looking for quick transfer advice
    Current XI
    Sanchez
    TAA, Shaw, Tsimi
    Salah, Bruno, Barnes*, Greenwood
    Ings, Toney*, Antonio
    0.5 Itb

    Thinking of
    A) Barnes+ Toney --> Raphinha + Richarlison
    Or B) Barnes +Toney ---> Benrahma + DCL
Leaning towards A as i think leeds at home wiv the fans is gonna be mega, only thing off putting about not putting benrahma instead is that i feel like i should give him the leicester game before deciding whether to hop on that train or not as leicester have a much better def than Newcastle so if he can produce another goodie then he is a real deal rather than a once off flash againat a weak defense

Any advice would be much appreciated

    Bit of a dilemma here.

    A) Lose Son for Bruno for 1 week then transfer Son back for GW3
    B) Ings to Lukaku
    C) Keep Son and Ings and roll ft

With the way Soton defended against Everton yesterday I'm thinking I'd be crazy to not do that since I have the money itb but I don't like booking in transfers. Also worried about potential of Son rising as well in the meantime (even if it's probably unlikely). This would mean I can't do Ings to Lukaku for a few weeks though and if Arsenal are anything like they were against Brentford I can see him hauling. Ings has good fixtures of course until GW3 but sounded like Villa were really poor yesterday. If I get Lukaku it'll be long-term too. Also tempted to do neither and give myself the extra week to just see how things go.

Yeah I think Villa had a look of side figuring each other out. A weeks traning and I think things should go better for them. Plus Watford were really fired up in front of their home fans.
I got to be honest the result really shocked me - I knew Sarr was good. But I never heard of that Dennis fella.

It will be the Villa fans turn to roar on their home team v the Magpies. Newcastle do not seem to have many danger men. I assume Smith will have a plan to keep Wilson and ASM quiet.

Gundo is not an option anyways at 7.5m when De Bruyne is in the team. And now might be injured also.

Just do it. You'll sweat whole week if you miss that now as its noy possible tommorrow.

        Fair comment.

You need to link your team currently you have some Nigerian fella's team on 31 who captained Tielemans, had Castange, no Bruno, No Salah and no bench points bar 1 sub keeper point- Kane also on bench.

I'd sell, even if he starts looks like they're all gonna be in and out and subbed early. Think of Leicester as man city, except with less points on offer

Get rid - Vardy was great on Saturday. Watched whole game. You can see Rodgers plans to have Daka and Iheanacho as subs. Occasionally Iheanacho might start on the wings supporting Vardy or in a two. But it looks unlikely Leicester look extremely settled and were unlucky not to get more goals.

It's abit Knee Jerk but I'm looking at:

Mahrez>Pogba. It also puts 1.5m ITB.

Not really concerned with anyone else on my team so it's either keep Mahrez and my FT or move on to someone else. If not Pogba, Greenwood?

I was tempted to go for Pogba for a hit but I'll pass the opportunity by. Spent weeks on my team and that analysis was for something more long term than chopping and changing.

Re. Pogs, Leeds are the perfect team for us to play so I'd hold off and wait a week.

Soucek not being talked about much, because of Benrhama
Personally already have triple West Ham, but Soucek is being over-looked, he was a pain in the ass today and even tried to steal Cresswells goal, he is sniffing for goals...

The only people in the next few weeks who are gonna have Soucek are those who started with him, Ben probably burns out at some point, Soucek is probably the keeper imo

            Compared to Soucek, yes.

If Moyes switch to 3-5-2/5-4-1, this could affect him. Also Yarmolenko & others lurking if he drops form. They may also sign Lingard.

Moyes is not someone who gives players time especially if they drop form & it is a competitive position.

He is still a good pick but definitely not as nailed as Soucek

Eventually I might move to Soucek and Benrhama and lose Antonio. Replace Antonio with DCL or Wilson.
I will probably WC in the IB, so I will see how Ben does until then, if he maintains form then I'll keep him, and get both. If he doesnt then I'll just switch to Soucek

Team started off the season pretty nicely. 1.0 ITB.

      Sanchez
      TAA / Shaw / Tsimikas
      Salah / Fernandes / Barnes / Benrahma
      Ings / Antonio / Toney

      Steele // Coufal / White / Brownhill

No immediate changes needed, but Barnes a question mark.
      - Even with Norwich, not sure on City attack in part due to following fixtures (well, Arsenal...)
      - Barnes > Grealish possible (he had some shots in the box, Norwich let up a few), but not sold.
      - Other alternative being Greenwood/Pogba, or a downgrade(?)
      - Reason I didn't start wit Greenwood over Barnes is not sure on his longevity starting. Hold firm on that?
      - Holding a transfer certainly possible.
