Mark Sutherns’ FPL Gameweek 15 preview and latest team plans

Andy and Mark drop into their regular Friday night slot for another laid-back look at the key Fantasy Premier League (FPL) talking points ahead of Gameweek 14.

It’s Mark’s 50th birthday and he’s chosen to celebrate appropriately, with another FPL video for our Premiu Members.

Tonight he joins Andy to discuss the potential benefactors of the new regime at Manchester United, and while Cristiano Ronaldo (£12.3m) is predictably on the agenda, Mark also appears to have his sights set on a solution to his recent goalkeeping woes.

We get to see their teams ahead of Saturday’s deadline, with Andy’s transfer already made and Mark attempting to justify an impending move to five at the back.

    Who would you bench?

    Thanks guys

      I think it's a dangerous game benching ESR. He's that annoying player I do not own and always seems to score.

        Agree 100%, was lucky to get his points off the bench last GW with a James no show. At least Toney never hauls really, ESR against that Everton defence could be very good. Keep Toney benched then more or less?

    2. The Count of Monte Cristo

      It's difficult but I think ESR vs Everton is a marginally better shout. Bloody great squad though!

        Haha yeah agreed bud, just touched in that above. There would if always been a time I'd have to bench Toney, looks like this week is it, Leeds quite resilient also in defence.
        Thanks man! I've had my work cut out since not calling Mo against United but have crawled bk into 500k from 1.8m 3 GW's ago, fingers crossed this team can carry on performing.

      Looks great. Flip a coin really, would lean slightly more to Toney given the penalties and he has does have slightly better non-penalty xG stats - the ESR goal last night was ridiculous luck as an owner.

        Cheers matey! Yeah see this is the other side of things, realising ESR's goal was fortunate to say the least, and Toney has pens in his locker. It's just that Everton defence haha......
        It's a toughie this one, thanks for your input, may just side with ESR but may go to the wire this choice.

          Yeah, you'll make the wrong choice no matter what knowing FPL! In these situations you'd almost prefer a popular asset like James not playing and having the decision fixed for you

    Better cheap pick?
    A) Goode (3.9 Brentford)
    B) Johnson (4.0 West Ham)
    Not sure how long either will keep their place though but I see they're predicted to start and am looking to raise some funds for next few weeks

          Think they are both in a similar ballpark in terms of mins. Williams has played every game under Smith but then it's hard to see any CS for a long-time. Johnson first choice for now but maybe that changes, but has some really good fixtures in the meantime.

    Sorry to ask a similar question, but still cannot decide:

    A) Antonio + Gallagher --> Jota + Dennis (FT)

    B) Antonio / Toney --> Dennis (FT)

    C) Toney + Gallagher --> Dennis + B.Silva (FT)

    --> Have C.Wilson and a WC to bring Antonio back fairly easily.

          My favourite reenactment of Count of MC is Jim Caviezel Guy Pearce's version, and the performance of Richard Harris as the priest is sensational. Love the whole film.

          Anyway, from your options, I like C there, unless your really wanting Jota more, then A.

  7. Hits from the Bong

    Which one? I’m leaning towards A, as think Dennis will massively outscore Benteke, but maybe it’s worth doing both just for the price swing alone

    A. Benteke to Dennis
    B. Gallagher to ESR
    C. Both (-4)

    1. Jafalad
      • 14 Years
      2 years, 5 months ago

      Just do A but to King. Much better underlying stats.

      Gallagher - people seem to think he has been playing deep last two games but that is incorrect. Against AVL, he was very prominent till Mchailovic went off. On set plays too. Only went deep at Leeds becuase of the high press.

      Really not much between it. But King I think has the penalties and avoids some potential broader team headache around ACON - e.g. Salah missing and I think the Chelsea blanks are at a similar time?

          Ramsdale the more template pick but DDG fixtures really are nice. No blank due to chelsea either and I definitely expect Utd to improve

      Think it's a solid shout tbh. Ramsdale / Guaita good fixtures too as a whole. One of the fullbacks like Shaw could be interesting given the price points, though it's too early for this.

        cheers Sun, might be worth a punt, Ramsdale the more logical pick but if utd change tactics a bit and have a bit more structure to their play it could be a punt that might work, also want someone different to ML rivals who have Ramsdale

      Would hold off, particularly if you have injured Foster. Always elevated rotation risks during December congestion so you could only end up boosting 2 players effectively...

        Why would you do Jimenez to Dennis now? You already missed Dennis's price rises.
