What the FA Cup results and draw mean for FPL Gameweeks 27 and 30

We’re starting to get a better picture of the situation in Gameweeks 27 and 30 of Fantasy Premier League (FPL) after the latest FA Cup results and draw.

GAMEWEEK 30

Three scheduled Premier League fixtures will definitely go ahead in Blank Gameweek 30: Arsenal v Aston Villa, Leicester City v Brentford and Wolverhampton Wanderers v Leeds United.

As many as seven league matches could be postponed because of the clash with the FA Cup quarter-finals, however, after the fifth-round draw kept apart many of the top-flight teams.

The full Blank Gameweek 30 picture will be known ahead of Gameweek 28.

GAMEWEEK 27

After the weekend’s cup results, a maximum of three matches could potentially be added to Gameweek 27 to make it a ‘double’ (or a ‘single’ for Leicester).

Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool will now definitely blank in Gameweek 27.

The list of outstanding fixtures that could fall here are:

  • Burnley v Leicester City
  • Leeds United v Aston Villa
  • Aston Villa v Burnley
  • Wolves v Watford

Only Leeds v Aston Villa of that foursome was scheduled to be televised (on Amazon), so it could be that this fixture is saved for a later date to avoid a clash with the FA Cup matches on TV.

The most urgent game that needs rescheduling is Burnley v Leicester, with the Foxes having four outstanding fixtures but otherwise having no free midweeks until Gameweek 33 *if* they continue to progress in Europe.

Leicester’s elimination does, at least, majorly lower the possibility of a Triple Gameweek for Brendan Rodgers’ side, as they should have enough free windows to fulfill their fixtures.

    Sarr has looked great tonight, wonder how he'll fit into Hodgson's plans at Watford, seen a few speculating King may drop out so he plays up top with Dennis. Shame there are just so many good midfield options as he's probably the only Watford attacker I'd want to consider

      Roy will surely go for the usual 442 deep-block counter-attacking system, like he did yesterday, and most of his career.

      So King and Dennis up top, with Sarr RM.

      Sarr played well RM before, and was still a huge threat on counter-attacks. I don't think a Sarr/Dennis front two would make much sense, I think he'll play King.

      Biggest mistake I made was getting two Watford muppets one was bad enough! Waste two transfers now getting rid because if they even had a triple gameweek I wouldn’t expect points

    This is lazy as must be an article somewhere but what’s the strategy if you have all chips left?

    - load up on Liverpool and Arsenal
    - TC Salah
    - FH 27
    - FH 30?
    WC?

      All depends on what suits you best. I'm probably going an unorthodox route compared to what I've mostly seen but I'm looking at WC25, BB26, and I think I'll be able to manoeuvre through GW27 with a hit. Keep the FHs for 30/33/later and use TC when seems best. I've mostly seen TC26, FH27, maybe WC28 and FH30

          I've been patient with my chips but feel like now is a good time to use it. I've I've looking at Kane for a few weeks and his form continues to pick up, I want to upgrade Steele to Foster, I need to get rid of Alonso, I want Cornet back in, etc. I could wait more for fixture swings but I feel like moving a bit earlier on some players others might not be able to fit in is worth going for, and it helps me pre-plan a bit for GW27 and onwards

            Defos keen on Kane, but I have Ronaldo and although he is terrible at the moment I can’t see myself wcing to get rid before the DGW he has

              That's fair, plus it means you can get to Kane easily in one move for the DGW so that makes sense

        Good strategy was thinking along the same lines myself. Even though was also thinking of taking a hit and bb in 26 manoeuvre around 27 and free hit in 30 wc 31 and free hit(maybe 36) what ever is the best option week between 31-38

      I would say TC Salah for sure and FH27. WC sometime after GW30 for a potential BB in DGW36. If you loading on Arsenal you might not need to FH in GW30. In that case I would just use the extra FH in a different double gameweek that your team isn't well set up for.

    Ramsdale Forster

    Hi lads, need some thoughts on this. Currently, I own both Salah and Bruno and leading to GW26 I've planned 2 approaches:

    Option 1
    GW 24: Salah >> KDB + Dennis >> Edouard (-4)
    GW 25: Save FT
    GW 26: Bruno + Jota + KDB >> Salah + Saka + Son (-4)

    This gives me a total of 8 DGW players for GW 26 + KDB for next 2

    Option 2
    GW 24: Salah >> Foden + Dennis >> Edouard (-4)
    GW 25: Save FT
    GW 26: Bruno + Jota + Gray >> Salah + Son + Martinelli (-4)

    This gives me a total of 8 DGW players for GW26 + Foden

    Does any of the 2 options make sense or to look at something different?

      So you kept Salah and now that he's returning you want to transfer him out?? Don't get it. He's probably playing GW24 and with a double on GW26 why are you wasting transfers on Salah?

    A lot of noise around using FH in 33 now. A blank GW with some doubles in there too but there seems to be a real clouded understanding of it.

    Anybody care to expand on it for me please? Im quite interested as only have the 1 FH left and sounds like this could be the optimum week to deploy it.

        Easier said then done if you already have three Liverpool. If you bench, let's assume you will have to sell Liverpool player. If you sell, you lose the player guaranteed to play in 30. It really depends if you plan to use FH in 30 or not.

        1. Pep's Money Laundry
          • 8 Years

          Yes it's not easy, it's team dependent.
          I'll be benching ramsdale and my 3 players Liverpool players. Most likely I'll bring in Saka or Martinell in gw26 and replace them in gw27. FH30 is the plan currently

    3. Nanoelektronicar
      • 9 Years
      2 years, 4 months ago

      Me. Probably will only have Ramsdale for the double 26 and blank 30.

      I was considering Saka/Martineli, but I would rather keep Bowen and get Coutinho instead. They both have good fixture in 26, and have good games either side of it. Blanks in 25 and 27 really seem like loading up on Arsenal isn't worth it. Also, that way I could save FH both in 27 and 30.

    Hi Lads
    I trust you are all well.
    Im in need of a bit of transfer advice

    Current XI
    Ederson
    TAA, Cancelo, Tierney
    KDB, Bowen, Jota, Maddy*, Raphinha
    Watkins, Dennis
    Bench: DDG, Cash, Coady, Maupay
    4.2 itb

    Which would you do with DGW26 in mind :
    Plan A
    GW24 : Maddy --> Son (-4)
    GW25 : KDB + Ederson --> Bruno + Pope/Ramsdale
    GW26: Bruno ---> Salah
    GW27: Jota ---> Coutinho

    Plan B

    GW24: Maddy + Watkins --> Cornet + Kane (-8)
    GW25: KDB + Ederson --> Bruno + Pope/Ramsdale (-4)
    GW26: Bruno--> Salah
    GW27: Jota --> Coutinho (if its a dgw for them then + Maupay --> Watkins

    Thinking of BB in DGW26 , if I were to which would you do ?

    I feel plan B is geared more for the dgw but costs an extra hit. Im avoiding Arsenal Mid purely due to it complicating things for GW27 as I like to get in on the villa double should it happen.

    Any advice and alternatives would be greatly appreciated

    Best plan- existing team below- 6.6 in bank

    A KDB ( to Salah 25/26), Edouard ( for Dennis) , Bruno (for Gray and possibly to Son 26)

    Or
    B KDB ( to Salah 25/26), Ronaldo ( for Dennis and to Kane 26), Gray ( and switch to Martinelli 26)

    DDG
    TAA Cancelo Digne
    KDB (c) Jota Bowen Raphinha Gray
    Antonio Dennis

    Sanchez King Dalot Dawson

      I am doing A, as i committed to KDB last week (have Salah), then to Bruno then to SOn. But I do like Kane (hate Ronaldo- might play one anyway). The way Man Utd are playing I may play KDB against Norwich. OH incase I didn't say it I do like Kane.

      I will also be getting Edouard this GW as well. But I do like Kane 🙂

      Do you have a long term strategy?

        Thinking
        TC Salah
        FH 27
        WC and BB at doubles near the end
        FH again in opportune gameweek

            Got 4.1 itb so probably Bruno, or downgrade Ronaldo and then upgrade one gray

      Tbh I would WC that team to attack the DGWs & not lose ground
      You still have all your other chips so you will still be in good shape

        Which DGW? Reticent to lose Ronaldo and Bruno for the next DGW as will not be in long term plans after

          Utd are so poor & will Ronaldo play 3 league games in a week prior to champions league fixture?

      Alonso needs to go this week for sure. I prefer Digne myself. After that lose one of the Watford forwards.

    Looking through options and differentials to see if I can start getting a few green arrows that mean something and going against the grain. What’s the thoughts on Newcastle? Conceded 2 goals in last 3 games 1 at home to Watford and 1 away to United. Might as well say a complete new back line now with trippier, Dan burn and Matt target. Dubravka worth a punt at 4.4? Two games in hand to play also. Next 5 are eve,avl,whu, bre, bha, any thoughts?

      i think they bought well, if the season were only just starting i'd expect that side to be comfortably mid table, as for who to get, Trippier could be decent as he'll be on a lot of set pieces

        Yea think there are probably better options around the 5m mark. Was looking for cheap options just browsing in case I trigger the wild card

    What to do with Reguilon?

    A) Keep for DW26
    B) Transfer to Digne
    C) Transfer to Tierney

    Egypt are the Burnley of the international stage.

    Such a boring team, they’re just hoping for some Salah magic.

    2ft and 5.7itb

    Any advice on this? Going to bring Salah in before gw26.

    DDG (Sanchez)

    Tierney Cancelo TAA Reguilon

    Bowen Jota Ramsey

    Cr7 Dennis Antonio

    Dalot, Gray and Maddison on bench.

    Worth doing Antonio to Edouard and Maddison to Son? Then do a clean transfer Son->Salah before gw26?

    Boreham Wood become the first Non-League club to make it as far as the 5th Round without conceding a single goal.

    Repost:
    Please RMWC

    DDG
    TAA Robbo Cancelo Laporte Tierny
    KDB Jota* Bowen
    Watkins Edouard

    Foster Rashford* Martinelli Idah

    Planning to do
    GW26: Jota*+Rash*->Salah+Cornet
    GW27: Robbo/Tierny->Digne

    Rashford is just a DGW punt.

    This gives me 8 DGWer in GW26 and 10 playing in GW27
