FPL Gameweek 12: Wednesday’s goals, assists, bonus and statistics

The Scoreboard presents all the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) numbers you need from Wednesday’s matches.

As well as LiveFPL‘s rundown of the goals, assists and bonus points from the day’s FPL action, we’re bringing you a selection of the Opta stats that arrive in our Premium Members Area almost immediately after full-time in each fixture.

Our usual Scout Notes article, which summarises more of the main FPL talking points, notable manager quotes and injury news in extra detail, will follow later.

BRIEF ROUND-UP

Amazon missed their expected delivery of goals as six clean sheets were banked across tonight’s fixtures.

Newcastle United were among the sides shutting out the opposition and are now joint-top for clean sheets (five) in 2022/23, as well as first for fewest goals conceded (nine). Kieran Trippier (£5.7m) took maximum bonus to move first in the FPL defenders’ points table, while Miguel Almiron‘s (£5.3m) scarcely believable form continued as he curled in his fifth goal of the season – that’s more than he has managed in any of his previous seasons with Newcastle, and we’re only in mid-October

An obdurate defence is not what a tired-looking Tottenham Hotspur need this weekend, as Harry Kane‘s (£11.5m) blank-less run finally ended at Old Trafford. A slowly improving Manchester United took all three points and since their season kickstarted in Gameweek 3, only Arsenal have registered more points and no-one has kept more clean sheets (four).

Rotation bit hard for Chelsea and Liverpool, with both managers making five changes apiece. The two sides could only muster one goal between them, a Darwin Nunez (£8.8m) header, and were indebted to their goalkeepers for their respective results: Alisson (£5.4m) saved a Jarrod Bowen (£8.2m) penalty, while the impressive Kepa Arrizabalaga (£4.4m) was forced into five saves against Brentford.

Both Alisson and David Raya (£4.5m) have now banked back-to-back double-digit hauls.

And on a night of shut-outs, it was fitting that Southampton – the only club in the league who had conceded in every game before tonight – recorded their first clean sheet of the season.

Saka likely to rise today. Should I go for Zaha to Saka now (if he crosses 100% on fplstatistics) or wait till tomorrow's games? Still have Mitrovic, Martinelli, and Andreas to play. And even if Andreas gets injured, he'd just stay on the bench.

Only 1 hour left till price changes and I need some help guys.

    Pope
    Trippier guehi Cancelo
    Trossard Zaha Martinelli Bowen
    Kane Haaland (c) solanke
    Ward pereira perisic Williams

    2.9M ITB, 1 FT.
    A)Trossard—>Foden/Saka(FT)
    B)Trossard + Solanke—->Saka + Toney(-4)

I’ve the exact money for B rn and it’s very tempting.
    Thoughts guys?

A with Foden. Man City at home after they lost a huge game. I see city scoring at least 3 times

Surely you didn't get Solanke to be a starter every week. He is an enabler so let him enable you in other positions

How dangerous is it to go with no Liverpool defenders for the next 4 weeks at least?

My selection is coming down to this:

    A) TAA - Andreas - Mitrovic
    B) Kehrer - Almiron - Nunez

It seems an easy decision - A - but that means starting one of Andersen/Andreas/Mitrovic is starting every game, whereas B has much better flexibility with the formation.

Logic like that kept me owning Lukaku last year. Can't trade him, Norwich at home is coming!

Then he gets hurt before Norwich and Mount gets an Epic haul on Norwich

Meanwhile I totally wasted 11.5 on a Sorry Slob named Lukaku for multiple gameweeks.

Am I mad for keeping Bowen for next gw too?

I have just enough money to get Foden, but how could I sell him before Bou at home? I know I will have to downgrade elsewhere to afford him tho. Saka a strong option to get too.

Cancelo Trippier Van Dijk (Guehi Webster)

Yes, you have a point, but I just have some feeling. I wouldn't be surprised if Foden is benched after a bad game against Liverpool with Grealish and Mahrez/Alvarez on the wings as well. And that Monday night football...

I guess so, anything is possible with Pep, but he does adore Foden and it’s unlikely he’d get a slap on the wrist for that imo, the last has been electric, and surely he’s wanna keep his first preferred starters well greased

As Trippier deservedly finds himself atop the defender ranking in FPL, my question is: will you consider benching him vs Spurs and Chelsea? Say, for Guehi vs Everton and Forest?

    Seeking opinions on this

    1. FantasyClub

I planned to bench him this gw for Guehi, but his ownership is crazy. So that's why I'm starting Ward over Pope as I don't want double Newcastle defence against Spurs.

      1. Ze_Austin
        • 5 Years

You just made me notice his ownership at 58%(!)

Only Haaland and Jesus have more owners in the entire game. Must have been boosted by the BGW and the James injury

        1. Dušan Citizen
          • 10 Years

Yup, he is most transferred in defender for weeks now. His ownership in top 100k is 96%!

Jesus' would be higher if he wasn't on 4 yellows. I guess people are waiting for him to do that suspension and get him back.

    3. Ze_Austin

Fwiw, I have Guaita, Ward and Botman. Guaita's a perma-starter with Ward as a backup, so Guehi coming in would create a double-up, while Botman will definitely be on my bench vs Spurs and Chelsea

That's what's pushing me to perma-starting Trippier, especially since Guehi isn't close to being the biggest goal threat around atm

      1. Dušan Citizen

True, but other than the Leicester match they haven’t been too prolific on the offensive end. Long story short, I wouldn’t bench Trippier against Spurs. Haven’t thought about the Chelsea half of the equation but probably would start him against them as well

Got 2 ft, rank in terms of priority to get in:
    A. Bowen
    B. Saka
    C. Foden

    And who to replace:
    1. Mount
    2. Barnes
    3. Zaha

I'd like to buy Foden or Saka but I'm not silly enough to make a transfer ahead of Europa League & pressers. Bloomin' price rise panickers!

I actually forgot about Europa lmao, guy reminded me at top of page, brought Saka in, oops 🙂

I wouldn't do Saka due to Europa League, but I jumped early on Foden to avoid the rise.

    im on wc

and i just got foden in and now realised saka is 98% to rise
so shd i sell zaha (who i have value stuck in and not sure if i keep or sell) for saka or should I hold out and pay the extra 0.1 if I must
even though odds are I go with saka and without Zaha ?

Who's in that extra spot? There's someone else you can drop for Zaha

      Martinelli? Nunez? Trent?

Martinelli is your Arsenal mid. You're fine that way

Unless you want to restructure, but I'm guessing you'll have to lose another good player with good fixtures, like the way you're considering dropping Zaha

Can't have 'em all. Don't buy until you have someone to sell. Your team is good as it is

Cheers yeah ive had martinelli since the season started but made a few poor decisions that cost me so need claw my way back and I also have a very poor sv so every penny is dear on this wildcard, cant make a rash move luckily I have 24 hrs now to sort that out and decide.

                Good luck 🙂

Don't bother too much about WC choices. It's 4 GWs until another wildcard, and there are many good options. Hard to be sure of who'll turn out to be the best

Foden and Saka weren't even in many discussions by GW6/8, because KDB and Martinelli dominated the points in midfield

Things could change again. Maybe Bilva or Odegaard... Or maybe Martinelli and KDB fly up again

                Just trust yourself 🙂

How much value do you have in Zaha? As Austin said, is there another mid you can take out as a placeholder to buy yourself some time?

I have 0.2 tied up in Zaha its not much but the team ive made(3-5-2) is 0.0 itb and not much room to find that extra 0.1

The big issue is that I still havent decided if Im going 3-5-2/4-4-2 or 3-4-3 so that created more confusion for me right now.

I looked at fplstats after the games and it didnt look like anyone would rise and just looked with 15 to go and saw foden and quickly got him in and then realised saka was close as well. Anyway luckily he didnt rise, need to make my decisions now and finalise the team for the most part in 24hrs.

    Pope, Iverson
    Trippier, Cancelo, Estupian, Neco, Doherty
    Salah, foden, paqueta, Zaha, Bailey
    Kane, Darwin, Mitro

    0 ITB, 1FT

Suddenly my team looks like turd. I'm considering going into GW13 without haaland. Am I crazy? Need to take a hit to fund it and salah out for a hit before forest seems crazy but he might be the right one to make way over kane if he continues being glued to the wing.

    Any thoughts appreciated!

hi guys which move is better (0.6itb):

    A) andersen -> saliba
    B) zaha -> saka
    C) neither

      c

All 4 great picks (maybe Gabriel oveer Saliba because of 4 yellows), but it's a shame to take some of Palace guys out with those fixtures.

A with Gabriel if you have to.
