Join the Scout Team – Trials Open!

It’s been a while since we added to the team and, given that we’re still going and this Fantasy Football thing is kind of taking off, we believe it’s time we added to the squad – so effectively this is the beginning of our scouting mission!

To begin with, what we’re really looking for most of all is “talent” – namely Fantasy Football obsessives who are excited by the idea of leaving the stands, getting out onto our pitch and playing an active role in the site or wider community.

Obviously, there are some pre-requisites but, for the initial search, we’re not focusing on a specific position, so your skills could be from different fields:

  • Maybe you can write Fantasy Football articles.
  • Maybe you’ve created and managed your own Fantasy Football site and now want to be part of a team.
  • Perhaps you have experience in a Fantasy Football community or even any community.
  • Or you could run a Twitter or YouTube channel.

If you can do any of those things or, amazingly, perhaps all of them, then we’d love to hear from you.

The nature of the role will depend on the person and skillset. We have a core team who’ve been with us for years, so we’re a loyal and flexible company to work with if it’s a good match.

Obviously we’d kick-off with a trial and then likely look at a part-time contract, so you’d need to be happy with freelance work to begin with at least, but if things go well this could extend into a much longer-term deal.
Even if you’re not looking for a gig, but you’ve just fancied writing an article a week and have an idea to pitch us, then please get in touch.

As a company, we work remotely for much of the time but, ideally, we’d meet and work together on occasion, so being willing and able to work in London from time to time would also be a big advantage.

If all that sounds interesting and you’d like to put your name forward, please drop us a line at jobs@fantasyfootballscout.co.uk with some indication of what you could add to our line-up and if possible examples of relevant previous work – be it a link to an article, website, Twitter channel or YouTube channel. CV’s are good too but not essential.

N.B. In our experience, this process can take some time and, as we’re in the middle of the season, we may be slow responding to applications, so please be patient.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

You'll be less happy when Raheem gets himself a one point cameo (at least I hope so, with just a two point McArthur while it seems everyone else has 6-8 points coming in!)

I'm happy for an Allen 4 pointer & Mariappa 8 pointer to come off the bench for Tarko & Sterling.
It will be the first time I've had any luck with auto-subs this season!

I know it depends on tonight but Son owners, whats the plan?
I dont have money itb and have an eye on Arnie and the switch for the next two could pay off. How many minutes, if any, in your opinion does Son need to play tonight to over tip the risk balance for him not to start vs Hudds?

I'm not keen on that sort of guessing game, so I'll just save myself the worry and get rid either way. I'm able to upgrade to Mahrez, but in that price bracket I guess you're looking at Shaqiri, Walcott etc. Arnie is a nice shout, depending on your gw31 strategy

Cheers Thomas- Mahrez is a great shout, should of got returns in his last game, unlucky. So regardless of tonight, you're getting rid of Son?

Yeah, can't believe Mahrez didn't get at least one goal vs stoke... Definitely getting rid, really like the guy, but atm there are better, not to mention more secure, picks elsewhere. Considering upgrading to Eriksen, but I might bring him in when I wc in 32.

Reading that tweet makes me think sterling won't play tomo and maybe not even v Chelsea.

Is sterling to mahrez - 4 worth a go ?

    Thanks

Knowing from experience it's usually even worse than the manager says. So, take the worst-case scenario and add 1 game week extra.

In short, I expect him vs. Stoke.

          "Knowing"?
          "usually"

At the very least, I would wait and see what happens tomorrow. You'd feel pretty silly if he starts/even makes the bench

And you'd have taken a -4 to get rid of the third highest scorer in the game...

If I knew he wouldn't play vs. Arsenal and Chelsea, then yes, definitely. My bench sucks and I'll WC in 32/33 anyway, so I can get him back. I would've saved some TV as well, which has been plummeting in my case for several weeks.

Unfortunately I didn't know that and still don't know.

Call me glass half empty, but I've had my share of injuries where the player is "almost ready" for several weeks in a row. Baines from last season takes the cake, but there is also Mee this season before Christmas.

Personally I would need to know he was out until 32 to think about shipping - this is why we have a 15 man squad.

That aside, my point is that I would deffo hold off getting rid until team is announced tomorrow. If he makes the 18 (or less, you know Pep!), I would expect him to start at the weekend. If he starts tomorrow, then absolutely no reason to hit to get rid

We have a 15-man squad, but I don't fancy keeping ~9.0 mil. on the bench and playing 4.5 midfielders/defenders.

Anyway, now I'm definitely holding, since no point to ship him just for Chelsea.

    Pope
    Otamendi, VVD, Alonso

If Spurs get knocked out of FA Cup would you triple up?

    If so would you go:

    A) Kane, Eriksen, Alli
    B) Kane, Eriksen, defender

I absolutely hate this idea of a postponement tomorrow. It seems half the world has either Tomkins, Shaqiri, Lingard, Mariappa and Uncle ******* Tom Cobley and all. Lucky sods.

Just sour grapes from me - I can't forget losing shedloads of points with Christensen via bad luck.

BOOKIES believe there is no chance of Arsenal taking on Manchester City tomorrow.
The odds have been cut from 20/1 into odds-on 1/5 that the game does not go ahead.Spokesman
Paddy Power said: “The snow is only getting worse in London, and with
pictures emerging of the Emirates pitch covered in snow, we reckon the
game is done for.”Tottenham have issued a statement insisting their FA Cup clash with Rochdale will go on tonight. But with more snow expected, the situation could change as travel chaos reigns.

      Sterling Son Shaqiri Walcott Salah
      Vardy DCL Kane

Not a good frontline really - will have about 2.2 itb if I shift Azpi to Dawson with my FT.. would you take a hit anywhere there?

Should Spurs and Rochdale draw tonight after 90min is there a replay or ET + pens?

Need to get some Spurs, but also want some City attack against Stoke in GW30. So what transfer for GW29, both wiuld be for a hit involving Ota->Naughton or the like:

      A) Kun -> Kane
      B) Sterling -> Eriksen

      cheers!

At the minute B looking the better option imo

Kind of hard to tell which is best though - Kun vs. Stoke or Kane vs. Huds. Both could haul

The doubts currently over Sterling sway it currently but then again Sterling could be fine....

Nice news on Sterling for the weekend.. Few quick questions:

      1. Anyone see SWA last night, did Abraham look good? Chances he keeps his place for the weekend??
      2. Kabasele of WAT. Seems to be always red flagged and returning but no word on him. Hardly back this weekend??
