The furious pace of the season run-in continues with a Gameweek that many managers have eyed up well in advance, with four fixtures postponed due to the FA Cup semi-finals.
Not only are eight sides – Manchester United, Tottenham, Chelsea, Leicester, Southampton, Bournemouth, Brighton, and Huddersfield – missing in action, but players from these teams currently represent a disproportionately high percentage of many post-Wildcard squads, due to their Double Gameweek 34 and 37s. With so many popular picks off-duty this weekend, managers could be left scrambling to fulfil their 11-man quota for the Gameweek.
Fortunately, this season’s newest addition – the Free Hit chip – is at hand to ease the pain.
Offering managers a golden opportunity to temporarily refresh our 15-man squads from scratch, it allows us to not only dodge the blanks but exploit an appetising fixture list for maximum gain.
With this in mind, this week’s Technical Area will – once again – be running through some prime contenders for a one-week Fantasy side designed to maximise returns over this single Gameweek.
In this quest, we are supported, as ever, by the Rate My Team (RMT) projection tool. However, we will additionally sprinkle in some standout candidates whose statistical and eye-test profiles have caught our attention over recent weeks.
