Mohamed Salah has become the Fantasy Premier League flavour of the month once again ahead of Liverpool’s Gameweek 10 meeting with Cardiff.
The Egyptian is currently the favourite for the latest captaincy debate and has a strong case for the armband.
With Manchester City tied up in an away trip to Spurs the most viable alternative this week looks like Eden Hazard, if he can shake off a back injury.
We’ve had a look at all the different angles to pick out the best candidate.
Captain Poll
Mohamed Salah (£12.8m) is the current leader of our captain poll by a considerable distance. The Egyptian is preparing to welcome Cardiff city to Anfield in Gameweek 10 on the back of a seeming return to form.
At the time of writing, just under 48% of our voters backed Salah and will have been pleased to see him scoring three goals in the space of a week as his strikes helped dispatch Huddersfield and Red Star Belgrade. The Liverpool man has also confirmed his position in the penalty pecking order too.
Despite issues with his back in the last few days, Eden Hazard (£11.4m) has a strong hold on second position in our poll. Chelsea are preparing to face a Burnley outfit that has given up more shots than any other Premier League side this season.
Hazard is still a long way off the leader though, his 18% backing under half of Salah’s.
For the first time since Manchester City’s Gameweek 8 trip to Anfield, Sergio Aguero (£11.3m) has not troubled the top of the pile. That may be to do with the fact that a trip to Spurs is considered a tricky fixture, at least on paper. In fact, as things stand, more of our voters are interested in Sadio Mané (£9.7m).
The Senegalese international, fresh from a starring performance against Belgrade, has 7% of the votes while Aguero has just a 3.5% share.
Interestingly, Andrew Robertson (£6.4m) could easily overtake the illustrious Man City forward before the Gameweek 10 deadline with his backing currently at 3.3%. The Scottish full-back looks likely to record a clean sheet at least against Cardiff and there will be the usual hope for attacking returns too.
The combination of a surprise Gameweek 9 benching and a theoretical tough fixture against Spurs has pushed Raheem Sterling (£11.2m) a considerable distance down the list this week, chosen by just 0.59% of voters. Thus far, 15 options have been considered superior captain picks including Bournemouth trio Callum Wilson (2%), Josh King (0.71%) and Ryan Fraser (0.77%) as well as Aleksandar Mitrovic (1.48%) and Raúl Jiménez (1.33%).
Arsenal’s goal-getters remain among the differential captaincy candidates as they travel to Crystal Palace. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (£10.8m) has gone back above Alexandre Lacazette (£9.7m) after his Gameweek 9 brace. The two forwards currently have 2.03% and 1.79% backing respectively. Mesut Ozil (£8.4m) is another option considered more popular than Sterling this week with a 0.83% share.

Woves stuff:
Jonny subbed on 45 mins last week.
Do we expect him to start away against Brighton?
Jimenez subbed on 60 mins.
Jota has only 1 assist in 9 games. No goals yet. But still starts every game.
Maybe the attack will be rotated, as well.
