Injured Wilson misses out but Fraser is fit to start

The first of two Premier League matches on Sunday kicks off at 14:15 GMT, as Everton entertain Bournemouth at Goodison Park.

The Cherries had injury doubts over three of their attack-minded players coming into this fixture, though Ryan Fraser and Joshua King have recovered from injury and illness respectively to take their places in Eddie Howe’s starting XI.

Callum Wilson, however, misses out with a hamstring strain.

Bournemouth’s teamsheet showed Fraser and King being joined by Junior Stanislas in a front three, with David Brooks stationed in a more withdrawn position in central midfield.

Dan Gosling has shaken off a knock to feature, while there is an unexpected return for Adam Smith too – the full-back had been anticipated to be absent until February.

Nathaniel Clyne gets his first league start for Bournemouth at right-back.

Richarlison is back up front for the hosts this afternoon, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin dropping to the bench.

Ademola Lookman and Bernard, who both scored in the 2-1 win over Lincoln City last weekend, will provide the width on the flanks, as Theo Walcott takes his place among the Everton substitutes for the first time since Gameweek 17.

Gylfi Sigurdsson lines up in his customary “number ten” role.

Seamus Coleman is reinstated at right-back after missing the Toffees’ last league match, with Lucas Digne returning at left-back after a breather in the FA Cup.

Yerry Mina is the fall guy at centre-back as Kurt Zouma is paired with Michael Keane.

If the form book is anything to go by, then this fixture ought to have goals: Everton haven’t kept a clean sheet since Gameweek 13 (only Manchester City are on such a bad run), while Bournemouth had conceded more goals than any other Premier League side (22) in the eight Gameweeks preceding this one.

The two sides indeed shared four goals in the reverse fixture in Gameweek 3, with Walcott, Keane, King and Nathan Ake on target.

Richarlison was sent off in the very same game.

Wilson registered two assists that day and the Cherries may miss the talismanic England striker this afternoon: the third-most-owned forward in FPL has been directly involved in 17 (nine goals, eight assists) of Bournemouth’s 31 league strikes this season.

Everton XI (4-2-3-1): Pickford, Coleman, Keane, Zouma, Digne, Gueye, Gomes, Lookman, Sigurdsson, Bernard, Richarlison.

Bournemouth XI (4-3-3): Begovic, Clyne, Ake, S. Cook, Smith, Gosling, Lerma, Brooks, Stanislas, King, Fraser.

Richarlison nearly got a pass...from a Bournemouth player.

In all fairness I don't think the Everton crowd help matters. For a few years there has been tension around the club. You really need to hit the ground running or they're on your back.

I genuinely think they celebrate a Liverpool loss more than an Everton win. They always have.

Supporter expect an ability to pass to each other and provide some attacking threat as a minimum. That's a fair expectation.

      Indeed.
Well not useless, his turn for the goal yesterday was superb, but he's far less effective in that role.

...not too dissimilar to Richarlison as a centre forward.

Everton have won just two of their last 19 Premier League games played on a Sunday - some stats are just strange but Everton playing like they think there's something in it!

New manager effect wears off eventually. Would be funny if Silva's Everton gets fewer points than Allardyce's Everton

    Pickford has been crap today.

-doesnt come off his line, troubling his CBs who expect him to sweep the space behind them
-poor decisons when making short passes to defenders always seem to give his team heart attacks.
-parrying soft shots that he should be catching
-the Brooks effort was terrible, shocking that he had to rely on the post to save him. Should be saving that.

How is this guy England #1? A far cry from Seaman, Shilton, Banks etc.

I prefer Westhampton actually, reminds me of when I used to buy the cheaper, unlicensed version of a computer game, with Ryan Griggs, and David Peckham.

West Ham are finding some form now though, Everton have been consistently, inconsistent all season
