Rashford, Lacazette and Sterling benched as Sane, Aguero and Aubameyang start

Six Premier League matches will take place this evening to bring Gameweek 28 to a close.

Two of those fixtures, Arsenal v Bournemouth and Southampton v Fulham, kick off at 19:45 GMT, while Chelsea v Tottenham Hotspur, Crystal Palace v Manchester United, Liverpool v Watford and Manchester City v West Ham United start 15 minutes later.

The headline team news arguably comes from Selhurst Park, where Marcus Rashford is only fit enough for a place on the bench after suffering an ankle injury in the 0-0 draw with Liverpool on Sunday.

Fred, Diogo Dalot and Alexis Sanchez are handed a start, as Ander Herrera, Juan Mata and Jesse Lingard miss out.

Palace are again without Aaron Wan-Bissaka, with Martin Kelly replacing the injured Mamadou Sakho in Roy Hodgson’s only change.

Raheem Sterling, Bernardo Silva and Benjamin Mendy are among the substitutes for Manchester City as Sergio Aguero is joined by Leroy Sane and Riyad Mahrez in the hosts’ starting XI for the visit of West Ham United.

There is no Marko Arnautovic in the Hammers’ squad as Andy Carroll gets the nod to lead the line.

Samir Nasri, Ryan Fredericks and Pedro Obiang also start, while 19-year-old full-back Ben Johnson is handed his Premier League debut.

Roberto Firmino has failed to recover from an ankle injury so Divock Origi leads the line for Liverpool. Trent Alexander-Arnold replaces Jordan Henderson in Jurgen Klopp’s only other change, so James Milner moves back into midfield.

Watford are unchanged.

Kepa Arrizabalaga is dropped after the farcical scenes at the end of the EFL Cup final, so Willy Caballero starts in goal.

Marcos Alonso is also recalled, along with Mateo Kovacic and Gonzalo Higuain. Emerson Palmieri, Ross Barkley and Willian make way.

Kieran Trippier, Davinson Sanchez, Erik Lamela and Ben Davies replace Serge Aurier, Juan Foyth, Jan Vertonghen and Danny Rose for Spurs, as Harry Kane and Son Heung-min lead the line.

Alexandre Lacazette is the premium forward who misses out for Arsenal this time, as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang returns to Unai Emery’s starting XI for the visit of Bournemouth.

Mesut Ozil is also recalled, while Carl Jenkinson gets his first league start for the Gunners since November 2016.

Emery has made six alterations to his line-up in total, with Granit Xhaka, Alex Iwobi, Aaron Ramsey, Stephan Lichtsteiner and Shkodran Mustafi dropping out.

Laurent Koscielny, Nacho Monreal and Matteo Guendouzi are the other players to come in.

Lys Mousset replaces the injured Dominic Solanke up front for the Cherries in Eddie Howe’s only change.

David Brooks is back on the bench for the visitors.

Jack Stephens, Matt Targett and Stuart Armstrong make way for Southampton as Maya Yoshida, Charlie Austin and Ryan Bertrand are handed recalls.

Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa and Kevin McDonald replace Jean Michael Seri and Ryan Sessegnon for Fulham.

Arsenal XI: Leno, Sokratis, Koscielny, Monreal, Jenkinson, Torreira, Guendouzi, Kolasinac, Aubameyang, Özil, Mkhitaryan.

Bournemouth XI: Boruc, Clyne, Mepham, Aké, Smith, Ibe, Gosling, Surman, Fraser, King, Mousset.

Southampton XI: Gunn, Bednarek, Yoshida, Vestergaard, Valery, Hojbjerg, Oriol Romeu, Ward-Prowse, Bertrand, Redmond, Austin.

Fulham XI: Rico, Odoi, Ream, Nordveit, Bryan, Chambers, McDonald, Anguissa, Cairney, Babel, Mitrovic.

Chelsea XI: Caballero, Azpilicueta, Rudiger, Luiz, Alonso, Kante, Jorginho, Kovacic, Pedro, Higuain, Hazard.

Tottenham Hotspur XI: Lloris, Trippier, Alderweireld, Sanchez, Davies, Winks, Sissoko, Eriksen, Lamela, Son, Kane.

Crystal Palace XI: Guaita, Ward, Tomkins, Kelly, van Aanholt, Milivojevic, Schlupp, McArthur, Townsend, Zaha, Batshuayi.

Manchester United XI: De Gea, Young, Smalling, Lindelöf, Shaw, McTominay, Fred, Dalot, Pogba, Sanchez, Lukaku.

Liverpool XI: Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson, Fabinho, Wijnaldum, Milner, Mane, Salah, Origi.

Watford XI: Foster, Janmaat, Mariappa, Cathcart, Masina, Doucoure, Capoue, Hughes, Pereyra, Deulofeu, Deeney.

Manchester City XI: Ederson, Danilo, Kompany, Otamendi, Zinchenko, Gundogan, Silva, De Bruyne, Mahrez, Sane, Aguero.

West Ham United XI: Fabianski, Fredericks, Diop, Ogbonna, Johnson, Obiang, Rice, Antonio, Nasri, Felipe Anderson, Carroll.

Completely out of form in FPL.
What would you do with this lot?

    Fabianski Patricio
    Kolasinac Doherty Pereira AWB Schindler
    Salah Son Pogba Anderson Richarlison
    Aubameyang Barnes Jimenez

1 FT, 4.2 in bank, FH32, all other chips.

Don't mind a hit as I probably need it.

    Cheers in advance.

      Anderson/Richarlison -> Sterling ?

Robbo vvd or Trent in for Kola for one imo.

Would be tempted by Auba to Aguero/Higuain but can’t decide which myself - both got pros and cons.

What’re your thoughts on Chelsea assets for the upcoming run?

In a similar spot to you, completely out of form. Taking a hit to do Son to Mane seems to have worked in my favour.

My idea this week is to dump Auba/Jimenez and replace them with Vardy and Higuain in anticipation for the blanks. Leaves me with 9 for 31/33 and then 2 FTs to get before then.

Building team for blanks and FH32 (WC34 etc...), would ya rather get
    A) Aguero in (possible rotation risk esp for next gw?, but have no City atm), or

    B) go for Higuain (plays in the BGWs and w/ good fixtures but less proven...)

    COULD do

    C) both Rashford Auba to Higuain Aguero for free - means keeping Son and going w/o Mane for now, so may get TAA for the third pool slot instead.

Thoughts on all that? Team linked

Yeah, that does look quite tempting doesn’t it!

Bit reluctant losing Rashford before SOU, but he’s done literally nothing since I got him 3GWs ago so not too emotionally attached 😆

Cheers Deulo. We’ll see how Higuain punt turns out

Yeah I agree. Either Trent or Mane to come in by BGW31. C definitely looks the most tempting option since it’s available, but leaves me 0.2 off of a straight Son to Mane with current prices!

Good moves mate. Team shaping up nicely for the blanks then.

Need to decide which of Trent or Mane I want - though if I do C from my above options as Deulo suggests, the decision may make itself, as it currently leaves me 0.2 off of Son to Mane!

I'm bringing in Hazard most likely but I'm way more worried about Sterling - just doesn't make sense though to bring in Sterling over Haz when the latter has 4 fixtures and Sterling only has 2. (between now and 33 and excluding 32 bc FH)

  7. F_Ivanovic

Great month so far - won my ML month prize with a score of 293 and climbed from 220k to 68k. Absolutely terrified of not owning City assets for the next 2 GW's after seeing Watford and Bournmouths shocking defensive displays tonight (and in general) and thinking of taking my 2nd 8 point hit of the season:

    Son > Sterling
    Pogba > Hazard
    Aubameyang > Rondon

    Would give me this team:

    Patricio - Fabianski
    TAA - Doherty - Digne - Diop - Wan-bis
    Salah - Mane - Hazard - Sterling - Puncheon
    Rondon - Barnes - Jimenez

Thoughts? Or just go Pogba/Son > Hazard and pray that Sterling is somehow kept quiet.

Depends on your chip plan and the price you got Pogba for. I'd personally just do 1st and 3rd and pray Sterling has a bad day.

I initially thought Son for Hazard... but then people were pointing out selling Son could backfire against Arsenal who are terrible away which I agree with. I just fancy Son in the next 2 more than Pogba in the next 2 and Son has a chance of playing 33 too where Pogba doesn't.

But I would lose 0.5m on Pogba - hope he gets sold for blanks though so I don't lose as much.

            • 9 Years
            5 years, 1 month ago

If you feel you can build a good BB team without those 0.5 you lose from Pogba then maybe, but he still has Southampton next which looks like a better fixture. Keeping Son for 33 also looks risky as Brighton have a decent chance of knocking out Milwall, but you never know...

      2. F_Ivanovic
        • 8 Years

Don't need the money from Auba if only doing 1 of the transfers. And yeah, sensible me is thinking that it's best just to get Hazard. I've been burned by City twice though this season - owned no players for their 6-1 demolition of Southampton + Huddersfield and both times crippled my rank.

          • 9 Years

Yeah I know what you mean. If you feel Sterling scores loads or even planning on captaining him I'd go for it, otherwise saving 4 (or maybe even 8) points looks more sensible.

Is Snoddy not worth having now that Lanzini is back? Currently have him on my bench but want to start him against Newcastle

Too many options available@ WH now.
I won't get him right now. Wether or not to sell is dependent upon your squad

IF you are building squad for gw 31 & 33 I'd suggest to sell him.
You have 5 player's from that gw. With 1 hit you can get 9 which is more than enough imo

Only planning on playing 8-9 players for 31 & 33 and will be making relevant transfers in the next GWs

planning to FH 31 maybe TC 32 whilst loading up on DGWers, WC 33,

i had Salah all season but sadly with him being out of form and with dgw 32 in mind i sold him tonight for Sterling, which then enabled me to upgrade AWB to Luiz (both ft's) leaving me 0.2itb which is just enough to sell Lloris for Ederson next week, i'll get Mo back in 31 on the FH though so its not so bad 🙂

    Lloris
    TAA-Shaw-Luiz
    Sterling-Pogba-Son-Jota
    Auba-Rashford-Aguero

    Boruc-Bennett-Bednarek-Puncheon

    Hi All 🙂

I'm on the regular chip strategy of building a team for 31/33, FHing in 32 and WC in 34.

Currently sitting on this bunch: (* = "planned" transfers leading up GW31)

    Foster Hennessey*
    Robertson Luiz Doherty Digne Bennett
    Salah Mane Pogba Anderson Camarasa*
    Jimenez* Rondon Auba*

The idea is to do the *s in 4 moves over the next few weeks for -4 in order to bring in Higuain, Vardy, Boruc and then a 5-5.5 mid(Gray, Barnes, Brooks). The problem is the Vardy/Higuain price rise potentially ruining it all in the next day or 2.

I have 1.0 ITB, 1 FT, not afraid of a hit. What would you od this GW?

    A) Auba -> Higuain/Vardy and get the other striker next GW
    B) Auba + Jimenez -> Higuain + Vardy (-4)
    C) A, but get Wilson/King if priced out of the other striker

So that guy managed to get no attacking returns in a game where his team scored 5 goals, even 3 of the defenders got attacking returns...

what a poor buy he has been!

Same guy who does nothing big when I own him and starts getting goals/assist consistently when I dont...

Mr. Salah! GW31 will hopefully be his last appearance in my team...

It happens. I remember similar before with Aguero and City, Kane and Spurs. However he could easily have had a couple himself. Hit the post, Mane should have given him a better ball to be 1 on 1, on another day that's a brace

      😮
Any reason why i should not do:

      Son+Auba >> Steering © + Higuain (-4) ??

Already have 7 player's in gw 31 so can afford to get Raz & move on in gw 31 for Hazard

      Thank you !!

          Nice.
I avoided getting Raz last gw which went well, but now i think it's his time to shine 🙂

And Auba has to go Definitely.

          Thank you mate 🙂
