Fixtures

Which FPL players are on international duty ahead of Double Gameweek 32?

A week of international fixtures gets underway today, with Germany and Wales among the countries in action this evening.

This is the final international break of 2018/19 and falls before the biggest Double Gameweek of the season, so there will be a nervy wait for Fantasy managers as we keep our fingers crossed for an injury-free seven days.

This article gives a club-by-club rundown on which assets will be away from their sides during this period, also detailing the dates in which these players will be competing for their respective countries.

There are several high-profile names missing from this list, of course.

Mohamed Salah (£13.3m) won’t be linking up with Egypt, while Aymeric Laporte (£5.9m) and Sergio Aguero (£11.8m) will not be representing their respective countries either.

Alexandre Lacazette (£9.4m) was omitted from the France national squad, while Gonzalo Higuain (£9.6m), like Aguero, wasn’t selected by Argentina head coach Lionel Scaloni.

Marcos Alonso (£6.4m), Cesar Azpilicueta (£6.3m) and Jonny (£4.3m) won’t feature for Spain, meanwhile.

There are a cluster of players whose countries are scheduled to be in action in the early hours of Wednesday March 27 who then face a long-haul flight back from the Americas: Tim Ream (£4.2m), Antonio Valencia (£6.4m), DeAndre Yedlin (£4.5m), Miguel Almiron (£6.0m), Fabian Balbuena (£4.2m), Javier Hernandez (£6.1m) and Raul Jimenez (£6.8m).

It may be, however, that some of those players have been the subject of agreements between club and country to return to the UK before their respective nations’ second fixture over the international break, as has been the case before.

The good news for owners of Argentina and Brazil assets is that those two countries aren’t playing their two international friendlies in South America, although Argentina travel to Morocco on Tuesday.

Sadio Mane (£10.0m) is amongst the popular Fantasy options in action in Africa on Tuesday, while Son Heung-min (£8.6m) will be heading over to Asia for a double-header with South Korea – the second fixture being contested on Tuesday morning (UK time).

Does anybody know why Lindelöf was been withdrawn from the Sweden squad ? The article just states personal reasons, rather than injury.

I am living with friends, staying on an inflatable mattress in the attic. But the attic is the cats territory. First he peed on the sheet, the next day on the duvet, and then this morning on my feet (through the duvet) while I was sleeping.

I tried to form a luggage barricade to discourage entry, but it only encouraged the Attic Attacks. And worse, I think it might now be trapped somewhere in the room by that very barricade, peeing away as we speak, much to its delight.

There are two dogs, and I think they are part of the problem. I tried to help the cat out when stranded in the dog bedroom, scared of the dogs, but then it peed on me when I carried it. You just can't help cats these days.

Interesting observation on Raúl Jiménez for you all:

GW1. Played against Everton and scored. Then scored again in reverse fixture GW25
GW11. Played against Spurs and scored. Then scored again in reverse fixture GW20
GW15. Played against Chelsea and Scored. Then scored again in the reverse fixture GW30
GW17. Played against Bournemouth and scored. Then scored again in the reverse fixture GW27

    Coincidence - I think not.

The conclusion could be that he likes scoring against certain clubs, or does well against certain styles of play.

This bodes well for the DGW ahead of games against Burnley (who he scored against in GW5) and Manchester United (who he assisted against in GW6).

Just a thought, read into it what you wish 🙂

No not at all, I've seen this comment via the Manchester Evening News - 'Although the news comes as a big setback for the national side, reports in Belgium suggest his withdrawal is mainly a precaution and that the forward could still return for United's upcoming league fixture against Watford next week.'

Button and Robertson to Ederson and TAA for -8? Want a DGW keeper, and Ederson seems the most likely for 2 cleanies

why TAA and not a good DGW defender then?

My thoughts exactly. Taking a minus 8 you'll be wanting that defender to score points. TAA obv can but Spurs is a tough game and more chance of a CS with a DGW def. One of the Utd ones maybe.

    Got a few quick questions:

    A. Luiz (Double Chelsea defence in 4-3-3)
    B. Milivojevic (3-4-3)

    1. Doherty
    2. Schlupp

    C. DDG Laporte
    D. Ederson Smalling

Thanks for all the help 🙂
