FFS Cup

The FFS Cup final is all set for Gameweek 37

Our second FFS Cup competition of the season reaches its climax this weekend.

Our final will be a battle between two managers who lurk just outside the top 1,000 in Fantasy Premier League.

Rotation’s Alter Ego and LOKOMOTIV both prevailed in their respective semi-finals to set up a showdown between the pair in Gameweek 37.

Losing semi-finalists Skogen89 and Ibra-gum will now contest the third-place play-off this weekend.

Rotation’s Alter Ego broke the 100-point barrier for the second Gameweek in a row and for the third time in five Gameweeks.

He was one of three semi-finalists – including opponent Skogen89 – to use the Triple Captain chip on Sadio Mane, who returned 13 points in Liverpool’s 5-0 demolition of Huddersfield Town on Friday.

Skogen89 was unfortunate to be eliminated as his score of 87 would have been enough to win the other semi-final.

LOKOMOTIV ran out the winner in that last-four encounter, with opponent Ibra-gum the only manager not to have their Triple Captain chip intact and indeed handing the armband to Son Heung-min, who blanked against West Ham.

The semi-final results were as follows:

NameScoreRankNameScoreRank
Skogen898719320vsRotation’s Alter Ego1031280
Ibra-gum61147195vsLOKOMOTIV841859

As of the Gameweek 36 deadline, LOKOMOTIV and Rotation’s Alter Ego shared only six players: Hugo Lloris, Son Heung-min, Sadio Mane, Raheem Sterling, Sergio Aguero and Raul Jimenez.

There is plenty of overlap in terms of team representation, though: LOKOMOTIV owns Trent Alexander-Arnold, Mathew Ryan, Yan Valery, Matt Doherty, Maya Yoshida and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg where Rotation’s Alter Ego has Andrew Robertson, Shane Duffy, Jan Bednarek, Willy Boly, Angus Gunn and Nathan Redmond.

Rotation’s Alter Ego’s main “differentials” are Wilfried Zaha, Diogo Jota and Aymeric Laporte, with LOKOMOTIV owning Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Abdoulaye Doucoure and Sead Kolasinac.

Neither manager has made any transfers yet (at the time of writing), nor do they have any chips remaining.

Ibra-gum and Skogen89 shared nine players in Gameweek 36 and again, neither manager has any chips remaining heading into their third-place play-off.

Dunno what's funny. I'd love Suarez in this side, but I wouldn't lose Salah for a couple of seasons of Suarez.

And you could probably buy someone who'd bring close to what Coutinho brings, but you're not buying another Salah.

Yeah, I wouldn't swap him for both. I don't think Liverpool could buy another Salah, but they could find a top creative midfielder and a striker who mightn't quite be on Suarez's level but have years on his side (someone like Werner).

No way, would want coutinho in the middle with Fabinho and Wijnaldum... It’s not unrealistic.. But why would we want to sell Salah?

Not Suarez as he is now. But Suarez in the season they just missed out on the league was a human wrecking ball. Best individual season performance of the premier league era in my opinion.

Always loved him, he was just criminally mistreated by the British media who hounded him out, eg the likes of Lawro/Lineker.

It depends on your football. If you are of a "win at all costs, no one likes us, we dont care" black hat wearing cowboy then you wont mind the savage biting or him celebrating a penalty save for his deliberate handball on the line. If you are a white stetsun wearing cowboy who never parks the bus or sets up catannacio and plays in the spirit of the game, then youre the other side of marmite.

There is no doubt he was a FPL beast and permacaptain however and a prolific striker. Just a shame he was a little turd at times in my book.

The goal v Newcastle is my favourite prem league goal. The one where he took it down on his shoulder and went round krul in the 6 yard box.

Loved his physicality where he blew 6'4" defenders out of the way. Best one season ever for a player in the Premiership. How many managers did he get the sack.
