How Man City assets changed towards the end of 2018/19

Manchester City options are likely to form the bedrock of Fantasy Premier League teams again this season.

However, selecting the right ones might prove challenging in the early part of the season.

In this latest article, we take a look at how they performed last season and what trends were set at different stages of the campaign.

As this uses data from the Fantasy Football Scout members area, only those who have signed up for the 2019/20 season can access it in full.

    Good morning all.
    Advice please.
Pretty set on this but unexpectedly, I have 0.5 to play with.

    Ryan (Pope)
    VVD Digne Laporte (Dunk) 4.0
    Salah Sterling KDB Perez Barkley
    Jota Adams (Wickham)

    Would you:
    a) upgrade Pope to Heaton, though he’ll rarely be required - never sure about keeper rotation
    b) upgrade Wickham to a playing 5 forward (who?)
    c) upgrade Dunk to a playing 5 defender (Holebas?)
    d) upgrade VVD to Trent?
    e) something else?

With so little between them, think it has to be Jota given Deulofeu hasn't been risked for the last couple of friendlies. And Gray has impressed, so safer to go Jota, who I think will get more points over the season anyway.

Very strong, like Aubameyang! I’ve got Kane, Sterling & King instead of Auba, De Bruyne & Wilson but Coleman instead of Digne, liking 4-4-2 this year, just tryna find the right 5.5m MF, currently on Robinson too

Why has Stones started appearing in teams?
Jota could be a rotation risk? So much value in 6m forwards, Ings, Adams, Rodriguez, Wesley, Linton etc.
      Looks good otherwise.

Ok first season ever I am going 4-5-1 vs my trusted 3-5-2, I don’t feel the stirking options at 6.5 give anywhere near enough nailed and obvious performers.

    Latest draft (8th draft)

    Heaton (button)
    Digne, Laporte, TAA, Cathcart (Kelly)
    Salah, Sterling, Perez, KDB, Robinson
    Wilson (Greenwood, Long).

Only think I want to maybe change is Laporte to Robinson and downgrade long to 4.5 but not sure if I want double Pool defence vs spreading the risk. Could also do Zinchenko instead of Laporte but where to spend the extra 1 million and will he play?

I personally love Aubams fixtures and feel KDB and Bilva will somewhat cover Sterling as wasn't going to captain him

One possible reason for veering off Salah Sterling is that you get more captaincy options with Kane Auba Vardy if a Fulham type defence appears - just more good attacks to play with.

City Liverpool will always be decent captain options of course but there’ll be a number of weeks when they’re not obviously the best. Week 2 is a case in point perhaps.

why? 60 goals in 130 games (mostly at championship level), got all the attributes to be a top player, 21 years old. just needs the opportunity.

in past seasons gone by Chelsea have let a player like this go, only to see them prosper elsewhere and ultimately end up at a rival (KdB, Salah, Lukaku)

What do you want to see from the Charity Shield today? There is often the chance for someone to come out of nowhere put in a performance and end up in half the starting teams.

I'd like confirmation of Zinchenko either way. I'd like to see a City team based around De Bruyne to give me some faith in him as a cheaper alternative to Sterling.

If Bernardo Silva started looking like appoints threat that would cause me to have a major rethink. I had in my team last year and enjoyed his occasional returns. He was at a lower price and I haven't been convinced he will justify the increase with returns yet.

Looks good but I'd prefer to have one of TAA or Robertson over VVD. I realise that it creates a problem with the additional 0.5 required though.

I think Rashford might be the hidden gem we're all overlooking. He's in fantastic form. Clearly the first choice at MUN right now. Their fixtures are not the greatest, but he's a top striker when in the mood. 8.5m is a very fair price. If he delivers like a top 6 striker, he's worth 10m.

As a United fan, while I think Martial is the better player between the two, the position that Rashford plays (lone striker) makes him a better asset for fpl compared to Martial imo. Martial cuts inside from the left but he doesn't get inside the box touches as much as Rashford as Martial is usually the one who has to create the chances himself, he doesn't get free tap-in kind of chances that Rahford gets.

Its actually laughable that United have Rashford as their number one striker. Compare him to the strikers at the other top clubs and its clear that hes several levels below.

Could someone tell me how good Neal Maupay of Brentford(Off to Brighton apparently) is? Looking at his stats he has the potential to be a top class striker, but I've not seen him play, How good is he?

Folks, 5 of us have just done our draft team in our mini league

I had first pick and selected Lacazette by accident. Meant to pick Kane
I lost out on all the big players salah Kane Sterling Auba Aguero etc

I’ve never played it before, so would you say I have no chance of winning?
It was £20 in and I’m hurting right now lol

You lost 20pounds. If any of other players are stupid you may still get something with luck. But Laca is too unlikely,,,even with Auba you may have had a good chance

    3. Klaren
      • 7 Years
      5 years, 1 month ago

Why were you picking Kane as first option anyway? Do you really think he'll outscore Salah and Sterling?

Lacazette won't be the top scorer in the league but he actually outscored Kane last season so I wouldn't give up on it.

    4. Brosstan
      • 10 Years
      5 years, 1 month ago

You need some luck with Laca this season but I wouldnt give up. Thing with draft is you can get a huge leg up on other players by being active with changes to your non big hitter players by playing the fixtures, especially in a small league with only 5 players where there should be a lot of unowned players at all times.

I only played draft one season and found it quite boring but I had 5 times the transfers of the other managers and won very easily on the back of it.
