Considering the large number of fixtures in Double Gameweek 26, Fantasy Premier League managers have a wealth of choice for their latest captaincy decision.

But with so many players offering decent potential across their two matches, finding the right recipient for the armband could prove a challenge.

That’s where the Captain Sensible article comes in, using the statistical form of  the key candidates against the most recent defensive showings of their upcoming opponents.

As this uses extensive data from the Fantasy Football Scout Premium Members Area, only those with a valid subscription can access it in full.

CAPTAIN POLL

Harry Kane (£11.1m) leads the Double Gameweek 26 Captain Poll with over 30.0% votes from our users. The Tottenham Hotspur striker faces two bottom-six sides in Burnley and Fulham but he has only scored once in his previous four Premier League appearances.

Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes (£11.6m) comes second this week, with 15.5% of total votes, as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men are set to play Chelsea and Crystal Palace.

İlkay Gündoğan (£6.1m) occupies the third place in the poll. However, it will be interesting to see how the results change by Friday evening, as the German international played 90 minutes in Manchester City’s Champions League match midweek.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin (£7.7m) and Raheem Sterling (£11.6m) sit in fourth and fifth, respectively, while Kevin De Bruyne (£11.8m) just misses out on this week’s top five.

          I'm thinking more in terms of hits than the players you mentioned. Single hit is worth the risk/reward on a dgw easily.
          -8 though is iffy, it's like a hit on a standard gw to me, generally you'd like to avoid. Some still think totally worth it tho.
          Comes down to if you trust dcl to deliver?

      They played most of the match without their first choice full backs. With Maddison also out, that really hurt the teams creativity. They were subbed on and added a spark but the damage was already done.

      Barnes was also subbed on and tried to run at their defence to some effect, but crowded out. Sparta mostly kept him out of the box where he'd be dangerous.

      Sparta played really well & just had to defend at that point. Also, managed to get another on the break.

      I've got to say Vardy didn't fully look on it. Not bad per se, but just not able to do much when he got in a decent position. Maybe good defending, maybe just poorer play.

          I'm assuming you haven't got your FH for 29 so an extra player for that week and this week. You are playing your BB this week, right..? Also, you can do Robertson > Digne in DGW28 when the time comes.

        Sounds like what Andy was doing. In fact, it sounded like he was making 4 transfers for a -8 and three of them were just to fund Kane.

        Seemed like a completely unnecessary -8 to me, but I guess Andy is in the top 1k for a reason. Or maybe he is mostly just being lucky.

    Captain pick choices from my squad:

    A. DCL - Saints(Terrible form), WBA(Worst defensive record in the league)
    but coming back from an injury, risky choice, Everton form is
    decent
    B. Kane - Burnley(a very good defensive team),Fulham (has been in good
    form last few week) Spurs form is terrible as of the moment
    C. Bruno - Chelsea (on form), Crystal Palace(This is the game to haul)
    United's form is decent unbeaten in 5 games
    D. Gundogan - Hammers(very good defense), Wolves(possible haul)
    City is the best in the league
