Suspensions

Which FPL players are nearing a two-match ban?

Our Suspension Tightrope article takes a look at the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) players who are nearing a two-match ban for the accumulation of 10 yellow cards.

There are currently no players suspended in the English top flight, with Raul Jimenez (£7.5m) serving the second match of a two-game ban on Friday – but the Mexican and Wolverhampton Wanderers now blank in Gameweek 33 anyway.

WHAT WILL HAPPEN IF A PLAYER GETS 10 YELLOW CARDS?

Dennis sent off as Watford collapse in FPL Double Gameweek 23 opener 2

Any Fantasy asset who collects 10 cautions in the Premier League before their team has completed 32 fixtures will serve a two-match ban in the same competition.

Punishments for yellow card accumulation are competition-specific, whereas suspensions for dismissals cover all competitive matches.

PLAYERS ON 8/9 YELLOW CARDS

Gameweek 32 was a big weekend on the suspension front as many FPL assets are now free of the threat of a two-match ban.

In fact, there are now only five players who are at risk of suspension.

Two of them are on Burnley’s books. Semi-popular bench fodder option Josh Brownhill (£4.3m) will need to get through the Clarets’ next two matches without a booking to avoid being slapped with a two-game ban, while James Tarkowski (£4.9m) only needs to dodge two cautions in as many matches to avoid the same fate.

Tyrone Mings (£5.0m), Scott McTominay (£5.4m) and Yves Bissouma (£4.4m) are also on the precipice, although McTominay is currently injured anyway.

The likes of Conor Gallagher (£6.1m) and Matthew Cash (£5.3m), plus everyone bar Tarkowski on eight yellow cards, can no longer be banned for two matches as a result of yellow card accumulation.

WHEN ARE THE CUT-OFF POINTS FOR SUSPENSIONS?

For Bissouma, Tarkowski, Brownhill and McTominay, the cut-off point is Gameweek 33.

Mings will be in the clear after Gameweek 34:

TeamMatches played32nd league fixture
 AVL31GW34
BHA31GW33 (first fixture of the double)
MUN31GW33 (first fixture of the double)
BUR30GW33 (second fixture of the double)

Keep your eyes peeled on our Suspension Tightrope widget on our home page over the coming weeks, as we’ll be updating that after every Gameweek to keep you informed on the latest disciplinary developments.

Got 2FT and too many issues.

    How's this look?

      Similar to mine.
My big worry is dropping Salah on FH. Last time he played United he got 24 points, and all the non-FHers will have him, which would completely negate the FH.
Bruno has a double but zero form, and even Norwich aren't the pushovers they used to be...

I don’t like the double Newcastle attack despite them playing vs two probably “leggy” teams.

I would wait until after the ELC game before picking your Leicester midfielder too, obviously.

Any Arsenal players worth a look? They’ve been bad the last couple of games but Southampton are OTB and Chelsea will be on a cup come down.

You’re only trap here is that if your SGW players don’t play your BB has been a waste. Are James and Havertz going to play 4 days after the FA cup semi when 3rd is more or less in the bag? If they get a rest then your BB is effectively on Robbo and Cancelo.

If you play it in 36 when you have 15 doubles then 4x2xblanks still earns you 16pts. Two returns out of 8 earns you IRO 30pts - which is what I think your BB needs to carry the value of.

Could be a bad move if Chelsea get a DGW announced in 34/35 as expected. Lukaku currently out with an achilles issue so Havertz will be playing.

You've seen what we capable of scoring - and out DGW etc is better than Spurs' too.

      If nothing else, sure though.

Leicester is historically carrying a big rotation risk.
    Even Maddison isn’t he?

Which scenario in ECL for Leicester would make you consider Maddison as an option (even C) option?

Barnes had started 5 in a row before he was benched. Brendan will throw the kitchen sink at PSV and anyone not rotated last week has got to be a risk for at least one of the doubles

Was always planning on FH in 33 but with United, Burnely and Soton looking awful, Leicester and Arsenal assets already in hand and Brighton not worth looking at due to two poor fixtures, I feel like a FH would just cover Newcastle....

BB in 36 so save for 37?

Would definitely save for later. Leicester really the only appealing DGW team to me but squad could be heavily rotated with EL.

Yeah. I have Barnes so hoping I'm not "protected" and considering Sa to Schmeichel (but not really a risk there).

How many DGW players will you have for DGW 33?

Not as many as I expected to have a few weeks back. But to be honest, I feel ok with that if you see my post above

4 or 5, depends on transfers. I’m very happy with my SGW players, Liverpool Man Utd, City Brighton and Spurs Brighton is 3 great fixtures.

Very confused as to what to do here.....16k pushing for top 10k.....notable DGW omission is Saka but I already have 3 Arsenal players....1 FT, 1.0 ITB - Raphinha>Barnes? If so, who do I bench?

    Ramsdale Foster

    TAA Robbo Cancelo James Doherty
    Son Maddison Raphinha Odegaard Gordon
    Kane Lacazette Broja

Not sure i'd double up on Maddi and Barnes. Maybe shift Doherty instead and bench Raph for now - Palace in 34 seems good for him and then lose him ahead of that run from 35

        Cheers, Doherty>

        A) Schar (DGW Special)
        B) Laporte (have Cancelo, but is Dias coming back?)

If I make either transfer, who do I bench?

Is Odegaard to Saka even worth an FT?
