HomeCrowd Comments – A Pre-Season Survey

HomeCrowd has been with us for just over a month now and, as we approach a busy pre-season period, we thought it was a good time to get your views on how you’ve found it so far.

We’ve created a short ten question, multiple choice survey that will help us gauge your feelings on the new comments system and understand how it’s being used so we can work to improve things in the coming months.

With the Fantasy games still yet to hit full swing, it would be great if you could spare us five minutes and pop on over to this link to complete the survey. Many thanks.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

No. It would cause too much traffic which is what they don't want when launching the new site.

If they have any sense they will...The best way to get people signing up to the new UFPL game will be to get the whole game out early and suck people in...

Hopefully Ruddy and Krul can make some repeat appearances on that list, but best guess is that they will both come in at 5.0.

Boruc seems like a decent bet. Southampton look to be well-positioned to do well. At 4.5 that would be nice.

If there is a nailed-on starter at Sunderland, then that would be a good candidate, but best of luck predicting what DiCanio will do.

Yer think boruc will be one of the best budget options. The sunderland situation with 2 good gks could be a problem and hull could be similar with mcgregor/harper. With the likes of krul vorm begovic jaaskelainen being 5.0 or more speroni and marshall will be the only 4/4.5 m gks

I'm really unconvinced about all the promoted teams. The biggest part of being a good budget keeper is for their team to have success. I don't know if Cardiff, Hull, or Palace keepers fit that criterion.

Are you really English (from fpl link)? I thought that Trailer Park Boys was a purely Canadian phenomenon.

I always liked the show... thought it was brilliant. Something different than the generic/recycled/crap that generally passes for comedy. That said, I was never as in to it as you appear to be.

In a post from earlier in the day, a lot of people were tipping Hull (24) and Crystal Palace (25) for relegation, but Cardiff (10) appeared on the list a lot less frequently.

You would expect this, with Cardiff finishing as champions last season. However, last season saw champions Reading relegated while West Ham and Southampton prospered. The previous season, champions QPR avoided relegation on the last day while Norwich and Swansea both prospered.

Anyone think Cardiff may be the weakest of the three promoted sides next season?

Seeing as nothing much is happening anybody fancy saying what the main rumours are surrounding the club you support that others may/may not be aware of as we mainly have a better idea of our own club than others do.

    Spurs
Benteke (obviously) - going to offer £20m Villa want £25m and don't think they have much flexibility. If I were betting I'd bet against him being signed.
Negredo may yet be approached - think this links with whether City seal the deal or look elsewhere. Not sure to the validity of this one.
Nacer Chadli seems pretty much done - not in FC Twente's pre-season squad.

Huddlestone may be close to Sunderland although wouldn't surprise me if Fulham come in for him again with their new owners.
Ade will be shifted if we can find somebody to take him - Bestikas were interested but with no European football next year that may be over.
Livermore apparently could go to Norwich on loan.
Loads of stories about Dempsey out with WBA, Fulham, Sunderland reportedly interested although this to me seems to be paper talk.

Think thats about it - what are your respective fairytales of woes and potential delights?
Parker off to QPR or West Ham apparently.

Wouln't agree at all there Scroobius, the very opposite, Dunne and Parker and Hooper are exactly the type of characters the club needs. Half hearted wasters like Cisse, Boswinga etc will be or are already gone. Simpson is another solid piece of business. The whole wage structure at the club has been completely overhauled, Fernandes has learnt a lot working with Redknapp.

      Chelsea

Always so many lies around when it comes to us. The only buzz that seems to have any legs at all appear to be Rooney, and potential for Didier Drogba return...

Rooney won't be pre-season though, so more silly season nonsense. Could actually see him fitting in nicely with old England heads Lamps, JT, Ash and a lot of talent around that he could be a part of - Hazard and Mata most notably.

Chelsea seem to get linked with anyone and everyone, but these seem the most believeable at this point. Glad we didn't pay that crazy buy-out for Cavani. Little disappointed though that couldn't get Falcao to the Bridge. Would have been awesome for the premier league

I probably don't want Rooney to come to the bridge. 4 strikers for that 1 Forward spot. Sure I like competition in the team, but not when it's overdone. Rooney, Torres, Lukaku can all frontline Chelsea. I am happy with 3 strikers for now. If we did take Rooney, I'd want Torres to be shipped out.

The only reason I think it is being entertained is us not having a striker to win the Champions league with. Rooney is that quality, as was Cavani, Falcao etc.

          Ba is not
Torres unfortunately is only back-up quality at that level
Lukaku is a nice premier league striker, and great future player on world stage

Drogba... won us the Champions League last time :d

Hardly needs mentioning, but Arsenal are continuing their policy of leaving their fans in the dark and not appearing to sign anyone.

Chamakh, Gervinho and Andre Santos have not gone on our preseason tour to Indonesia, which probably hints they're out of the running for this season. The only remotely positive news is that Gervinho and Andre Santos have been linked with Roma and Flamengo respectively, which might mean we bring in exciting replacements, although knowing us we'll probably leave it to the deadline day and panic buy Joe Cole and Guy Demel. Tragically, Bendtner's move to Frankfurt has fallen through, probably due to his wage demands.

Yeah that rumour appeared last month but no-one's showing any money. Apparently it's back on the radar because Vermaelen has a back injury that's ruled him out of the preseason tour, but that could equally just be journos putting two and two together. Don't think Swansea want to sell him at all and he will turn 29 shortly after the season begins, so not exactly a long term solution.

All we have so far is a troll bid for Suarez.

      Sunderland

The next two days should def see the signings of Italian Giarccherini (midfielder) and Argintinian right back Peruzzi..both have medicals booked. Greek winger/midfielder Charis Mavrias is also strongly linked and could be also in this week ..the search for a left back is also expeted to step up soon.

Outgoings there is nothing imminent but Bardsley and Ji certainly look to be going as it's also likely that any from Colback, Cattermole, Graham, Wickham and Gardner could leave also if right money is offered.

I really appreciate the new setup with HomeCrowd. As someone whose time on FFS is restricted to using a smartphone while my two-month old son sleeps on my my chest, being able to sort posts is really useful. I don't really feel obligated to post anything, or anything useful, preferring to lurk. But I'm happy to see that Homecrowd has not killed all the amusing banter. Maybe during the season whe the dead zone is not quite so dead, I'll risk waking the little one up to add my two cents.
Eithher way, I think that FFS is well set up for when the season begins.

"And with Moyes also insisting Shinji Kagawa is his preferred choice to play behind Van Persie, Rooney is increasingly out of the picture at Old Trafford."

I don't see any quote in the article to back this up but certainly interesting if true for Kagawa's FPL prospects.

I was in south east Asia for 6 month this year and the suppor there is crazy. They love it!!! I think it's great, a lot of the fans I meet could never afford to travel to china let alone Europe and they are super loyal and switched on. Just to allow them to see their team means I think it's a good idea. The fan base is already there.

I think he just stopped himself from saying any more in the build up to taking Kevin Spacey to wherever they were taking him. I guess the unknown in that situation brought with it alot of tension and anxiety and he was over thinking things or playing things out in his head when in reality they just had to go and do the thing.

Hehe, I suppose Neymar/Bale would be more worrying. Beer can do some things to a man but nothing like what's going on there.

😀 got to love it though !
on a side note, do you think milan can win the scudetto this season ? could be very entertaining with juve, napoli, ac milan and fiorentina fighting for it !

            Juve 1st, Milan 2nd.

Milan actually got more points than Juve from the start of January but they undeniably have the strongest squad in the league. We have a chance of winning but luck will have to be on our side.

Need to do some business in the transfer market as well, Honda and Ljajic could be coming in with some turds on the way out.

yeah i reckon that tough ; 1.Juve 2.Milan 3.Napoli 4.Fiorentina (close between the last two if cavani leaves)

The additions of honda and ljacic would do your squad good ! honda on a free ! bargain ! and do you rate andrea poli ? seems like milan bought him since nocerino is on his way out

Honda is only free if we wait until January, would rather get him now for a small fee.

Poli isn't a world beater but he's a 23 year old Italian international that fills a spot in the weakest position of our squad. Good signing.

ohh i didn't know that ! yeah it would be better to get him now i suppose.

for poli great ! if he does good it would be nice to see him in the WC squad ! its a shame you guys didn't go for ogbonna, he could have been a great addition
