FFS Paddy Power Cup X – The Final

This evening we preview the final and third place play-off matches of the Fantasy Football Scout Cup X, as sponsored by Paddy Power, and take a look back at the key events during the semi-finals.

CMIFLFC, who is 3381st overall, eased past 731st ranked bobbyg in the semi-finals. His score of 82 was also the round’s top score, which earns him £25 worth of free Paddy Power bets.

The other semi-final saw Momalpashands, who is ranked 389th in the world, see off 278,180th ranked Harts Hotspurs in what was the round’s David versus Goliath clash. Momalpashands’ impressive score of 81 proved too much for our plucky minnow’s tally of 59.

The final between Momalpashands and CMIFLFC is finely balanced thanks to both already playing their winter wildcard during Gameweek 23.

Of the pair, CMIFLFC already has Gameweek 24’s standout captaincy choice Sergio Aguero, who faces Hull City at home, in his team.

But while Momalpashands opted to go without the Manchester City striker on his wildcard he has shrewdly kept enough in the bank to draft him in in place of Olivier Giroud and that move looks the likeliest scenario. Momalpashands also has David Silva in his team, another good option in Gameweek 24, which may give him the edge.

Among CMIFLFC’s key differentials are Santi Cazorla, Jonathan Walters, Jason Puncheon, Graziano Pelle and Nathanial Clyne. He should also have Olivier Giroud to call on as a differential should Momalpashands swap him out.

Momalpashands will be hoping his differentials, including Theo Walcott, Saido Berahino, Harry Kane and Cesc Fabregas, will be enough to win.

Meanwhile, the squads involved in our third place play-off clash is less clear, with both bobbyg and Harts Hotspurs still keeping their winter wildcards back for Gameweek 24.

Good luck to all four managers left in the competition. In the meantime, though, if you’re looking for more information on the Scout Cup schedule and prizes available, click this link for a more thorough rundown.

Somewhat. I don't like being without a highly owned and highly captained players in the top 1k. However, I don't rate ADM so won't be bringing him in and I sold Kane (which hurt me this past GW).

Depends. I was hesitant on Sanchez for the longest time at the beginning of the year, and only really picked him up because everyone in the top 10k had him and I was losing ground. The best players are usually (usually!) the ones owned by the most people, so it's hard to say that ownership is the thing that makes you make a move. Like a chicken and egg thing, kinda.

I'd be careful with that one. He hasn't looked at all fit in this AFCON. That goal was the first good thing he's done.

nothing to do with the goal. I was considering bringing him in when he returns anyway only for Di Maria. Having a midfield of Hazard, Yaya, Sanchez, Silva, Boyd

Had him since GW 1 so would loose a lot of value when i want him back.

Also the reason you have at least one really decent bench player is to sub for this reason

Nothing wrong with my bench players. It's why I got them.

Just waiting on Sanchez news as transferring him now will cost value and if he's fit for the weekend spending an extra .3 or .4 is money I don't have for someone else.

    Arsenal fans-

My instinct tells me Wenger won't start a player, recently back from a long injury, away from home in a local Derby, particularly as he is particularly hated by the fans and was seriously injured against them last time (remember his hand gestures as he was being carried off on a stretcher?).

Am I right in my decision to bench Walcott this weekend away against Spurs?
Or do you think he will start?

he will start, he needs minutes

what benefit will resting him be at this point, he is lacking sharpness so needs game time. Plus he has a good record v spurs. So yep a start for me

It's worried owner logic! I'm glad to see the consensus is that he will start though! 😀

The only thing threatening Walcott's chances of starting is Sanchez.

That won't factor into Wenger's decision at all. If Sanchez starts it may push Theo to the bench though.

      It´s between Ozil and Walcott.

Cazorla is nailed on, Ramsey too (more consistence in midfield) and Giroud is the striker, if Sánchez still out, then he will play both Ozil and Walcott

Coquelin, Ramsey, Walcott, Cazorla, Ozil and Giroud.

      OR

Ramsey, Cazorla, Walcott, Ozil, Sánchez and Giroud.

It depends on Sánchez fitness and if he wants for a DM like Coquelin or not.

Demi, but he's not getting much baps/assists/goals. Might be best keeping space for Bony/ Yaya

He seems to be favourite over Chambers atm, but when the CL starts again, who knows?

I've got him, I think for 4.4 he's worth the risk, as long as you've got playing bench defs.

I say Wisdom. Huth might have Wasi's spot, maybe not this week but enough risk is there I think.
