The ScoutCast – Episode 152 – Threesome

Visuals returned to the ScoutCast this week, as Granville and I cuddled up in a Google Hangout, with Jonty crashing in to form a ménage à trois.

Those of you who were on the site on Monday evening got the opportunity to join the sausage party via our You Tube channel. If you missed out, you can view the entire uncut version of the Hangout via the Hangout movie below.

If you prefer your ScoutCast in the regular, edited and polished audio format, you can of course get the goodness via this link or via the player below.

We’ll be looking to book ourselves in for future Hangouts every Monday evening – cropping up again next week prior to Tuesday’s deadline. Subscribe to our You Tube channel to get prior warning and look out for the dedicated Hot Topic on Monday.

Keep for this week then ship for LEI bur - primed for big returns. I'm tempted by nasri myself would mean ditching haz but liv(and a knackered one at that) LEI bur sounds so much nicer than blank whu SOT. Thoughts?

I wouldnt get rid of Hazard, but he is a season keeper for me. I have actually had him since the start of last season and never left my team! You will want Hazard back, so it depends what price you bought him at I guess

Sold on wc bought back for 10.8 so probs lose 0.2 max - the stats of not even managing a shot v BUR were a tad worrying and I just think now city only have the prem to focus on they will go for it and score goals aplenty. Big question though is nasri v Silva - Silva grabbing the headlines but nasris two 13pt hauls since injury hint he is fresh and on form

I hope so! Certainly has better underlying stats than Silva who is basically yaya last season atm eg scoring with every shot he takes. Double up could be a shout though - would have yielded 18 v stoke and 30 v Newcastle, compare that to the popular Sanchez ozil double up which would have got you 13 v lei and 6 v cpl, so basically 29pts difference over two games. A worthy comparison as a medium away game and a easy home one

Thoughts on PVA and Hutton starting this gw? My initial plan was to ditch PVA for Bertrand but with Hutton also a doubt, meh, I just dunno

    Fonte - Bertrand - PVA - Terry
    Walcott - Puncheon - Mane - Boyd
    Aguero - Sturridge

    Krull - Wasilewsky - Hazard - Kane

    2 FT, £2.3m ITB

    I think aim settled on:
Terry & Mane to Dawson & Silva

I have 4 already playing on the South Africa game . But have 12 subs left and have decided to go for 5 Indians 3 nz and 3 Aussies .. So it leaves me with 1 ft to do just now but no idea who to bring in.
It's between Amla Duminy morsel or Tahir.
Will probably take ur advice and go for Tahir.. And probably captain him too.

Earlier in the week I posted the question is Eriksen would drop before the deadline, he was then on -30% drop, I've just checked tonight and he is now at -86.6% on FPL Stats. FFF have him marked as dropping tomorrow night and is currently at -79%

Eriksen dropping in price might not mean much to some, but him dropping 0.1 mill will mean I can actually bring him in for the DGW, especially now after I missed the Wisdom drop.

So, do we think Eriksen will now drop before the deadline? Or do you think he will get close then shot back up after as others bring him in.

Top of ML by a slim lead, following three people plus more have him. Thought I'd bring him in for cover plus he is a better option over Puncheon (who i would be shipping for)

My guess on who will be "tired" going into the City game:

    Sturridge
    Coutinho Sterling
Moreno (tired) Henderson Allen (tired) Markovic
    Sakho Skrtel Toure
    Mignolet

I'm basing this on how hard each players has worked recently and the amount of games they've played in succession.

I can see Can getting dropped for Toure due to fatigue.
If Lucas is back Allen will get dropped but that's looking unlikely.

    £208,930,000 - Liverpool's net spend on transfers since 06/07

    £285,609,000 - Chelsea's net spend on transfers since 06/07

I just saw a conversation a page or two back about how much more Chelsea spent to "buy" their success. Don't get me wrong, they spent a lot certainly but maybe, when comparing to Liverpool (only used them because it was Liverpool fans saying it), it isn't the difference between Chelsea's success and Pool's success in that time frame.

I don't know, I'm off to watch tv. Just thought it worth noting.

      There's more to this debate.

      -Chelsea pay their players more
-Bigger talents are currently coming to Chelsea because they are a stronger team right now
-Liverpool have signed English players with inflated fees to maintain Liverpool's reputation of being an English club

Chelsea have obviously come out winners. They have done fantastic in the market the last few years. Buying low and selling high.

Oh there's a lot more, wages in particular. I'd never say Chelsea didn't bankroll a lot of their initial restructuring and rebuilding, they did, I just thing that as we go on that argument is becoming less and less powerful. But you're right on the other aspects.

thing with chelsea is that they splurged on a solid foundation before FFP & have found a solid way to maintain a level. if you look at their spend for the last ten years, they are almost up there with city

The wages are considerably more! So while Liverpool can afford some transfer fees they can't pay the wages!

Consistent CL would help more than location, I guarantee it. If Pool get it again this season, they'll have a better bartering chip.

            I would say:

            -Consistent CL qualification
            -Reputable manager
            -Location
            -Reputable teammates
            -High Wages

Are the main factors to attract payers.

That bottom.one accounts for 95% of their decision
Man City had not much over Liverpool in first 4 but Scott Sinclair chose city over pool entirely based on last one.

Depends on the player. I would say the last one works for English players but maybe not South Americans who are generally more passionate towards the game.

You missed the biggest one: chance of winning major silverware.

Top players have lots of clubs they can go to for huge wages. Some are just mercenary. But some (usually the best ones) also want to achieve things. What attracts them is the chance to be part of a really successful team. And for most world class players that means Champions League,

How many teams in England do you think are seen from overseas as having a realistic chance of winning the CL in a typical season? I'll tell you. 2. United and Chelsea. Arsenal and City are seen as teams that can reach the knockout stages but not more.

Obviously that can and will change from time to time. But that's a big reason why United and Chelsea are attractive right now.

I've never heard such stuff and nonsense as that post...Every team that aspires to win the prem has to try and "buy" it..there's no other way these days and hasn't been for a very long time...a very, very, long time.

Lawrence Cotton was doing it with Blackburn Rovers even before the first world war...and he did it...

My wumming extends from my little brother who supports Pool. In reality, I have little problem at all with them, there are more aspects of how things are run that irritate me (especially if they get ignored) which seems to be similar for certain Pool fans on here who don't like how United run their affairs either (though I couldn't argue that as I'm quite ticked with them myself, at the moment!)

In general, my dislike is reserved for Leeds. 😉

    RMT

    Foster, (Myhill)
    Clyne, Naughton, Hutton, PvA, (Terry)
    Sanchez, ADM, Cazorla, Boyd, (Hazard)
    Kane, Aguero, Giroud

    1 FT, 1.2 ITB

I'm thinking about transferring out PvA for Dawson. Opinions?

    2 free TF's and 0.1ITB
    Planned transfers:

    GW27:
    Sturridge > Giroud
    Wisdom > Bertrand

    GW28:
    Bertrand > Rose
    Sterling > Eriksen -4

    GW29:
Stick with Eriksen / > Nasri or ADM.

This weeks TF's would of allowed me to field 11 until Hutton flashed up.
Next weeks TF's gives me 3 Spurs for double game week inc Kane.
GW28 is a long way away, but those are some potential options.

What we thinking? Rest of the team aint bad, currently in 45k.

        Clyne / Bellerin / Zouma
        Hazard / Silva / Sterling / Cazorla
        Aguero / Sturridge / Kane

I def wouldn't be getting rid of Bertrand next week! If you get him, he's a keeper. Sure get Rose if you can, but to use 2 transfers to get Bertrand for 1 week is crazy

      1. Shiner
        • 9 Years
        9 years, 3 months ago

It was just to field 11 players. Now looking like 10 with hutton out. I free up money with Sturridge > Giroud. I'd swap straight to Rose but he has a blank also... But want him for the double.. So Bertrand is just a stop gap as i'll want that money free again in case i fancy Giroud > Costa at a later point... maybe....

I get your point, but it makes little sense to use 2 transfers on a stop gap. It's reasonable to get Bertrand in this week, but if I did I'd def keep him

2FT and £2.3m in the bank. Looking like PVA and Ameobi won't start so could be fielding 9 at the moment!

    Foster
    Clyne Bellerin* Clichy* PVA*
    Sanchez(c) Silva Cazorla Ameobi*
    Aguero Defoe

    Bench - Wisdom, (Hazard, Kane)

    A) Wisdom > Dawson/Wolly
then Defoe>Austin & Cazorla>Eriksen next week for free

    B) Wisdom > Dawson &
    PVA > Wolly
then take a hit next week to do those same transfers

    C) Forget the above, you're barking up the wrong tree mate
