Line-up Lessons – Gameweek 17 – Part One

John Stones and Kelechi Iheanacho are consigned to the bench once again. Wayne Rooney earns back-to-back starts for the first time since Gameweek 5, while Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s run of four successive starts for the Gunners comes to an end. Here’s the first part of our Gameweek 17 teamsheet summary, outlining the trends and tactics on show, along with early insight into the likely line-ups for the Boxing Day programme.

Arsenal

Starting XI: Cech, Bellerin, Gabriel, Koscielny, Monreal, Coquelin (Giroud 75), Xhaka, Walcott, Ozil, Iwobi (Oxlade-Chamberlain 65, Elneny 77), Sanchez.

  • Arsene Wenger made one adjustment from the side that lost 2-1 at Everton for the trip to the Etihad, with Alex Iwobi recalled in place of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
  • Iwobi came in on the left of the attacking midfield trio in the usual 4-2-3-1 formation, with Theo Walcott retaining his place on the opposite flank.
  • Wenger’s first substitution saw Oxlade-Chamberlain enter the fray in place of Iwobi shortly after the hour-mark in a straight swap. After falling 2-1 behind, Wenger turned to Olivier Giroud off the bench, with Francis Coquelin making way. Moments later, Oxlade-Chamberlain had to be replaced after picking up a muscular problem, with Mohamed Elneny taking his place, leaving Walcott, Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez in a fluid attacking midfield trio behind lone striker Giroud as the Gunners tried and failed to find a way back into the match.
  • After conceding another two goals, Wenger could consider making changes. Elneny and potentially Aaron Ramsey, providing he recovers from a hamstring injury, may push for a start in central midfield in place of either Coquelin or Granit Xhaka. Lucas Perez offers an option to replace Iwobi, while Giroud may also come into contention to start against West Bromwich Albion to help deal with the Baggies set-piece threat.

Current Status: Fairly Settled
Risk Areas: Central Midfield, Left Flank

Bournemouth

Starting XI: Boruc; Francis, S Cook, Ake, Daniels; Arter, Wilshere; A Smith, King (Ibe 72), Pugh (Fraser 55); Wilson (Afobe 64).

  • Eddie Howe only made one change from the side that beat Leicester City 1-0 for the visit of Southampton to the Vitality Stadium, with Callum Wilson recovering from a minor head injury to replace Benik Afobe.
  • Wilson was restored in the lone striker role in the 4-2-3-1 formation, with Adam Smith (right), Josh King (No 10) and Marc Pugh (left) forming the attacking midfield trio.
  • But after falling 2-1 behind early in the second half, Howe turned to Ryan Fraser off the bench, with the Scot replacing Pugh in a straight swap. Wilson then made way for Afobe shortly after the hour mark, while Howe’s final substitution saw Jordon Ibe replace King.
  • Howe will have to make at least one change for the trip to Stamford Bridge, with Nathan Ake ineligible to play against his parent club. Simon Francis may well shift across to centre-back, then, with Smith likely to return at right-back. Fraser or Ibe could earn a recall on the right wing, although Howe may want to solidify the midfield against the in-form Blues, so Dan Gosling may be handed a recall in central midfield, allowing Jack Wilshere to return to the No 10 role. King could then be forced into one of the wide positions. Afobe may also push Wilson for the starting spot in attack.

Current Status: Slightly Unsettled
Risk Areas: Right-Back, Central Defence, Central Midfield, Flanks, Lone Striker

Burnley

Starting XI: Heaton; Lowton, Keane, Mee, Ward; Boyd (Kightly 83), Hendrick, Marney (Defour 84), Arfield; Barnes (Vokes 80), Gray.

  • Sean Dyche only made one change for the trip to White Hart Lane, with Ashley Barnes starting in place of Sam Vokes.
  • That change saw the Clarets line up in a 4-4-1-1 formation, with Barnes playing in a support striker role behind Andre Gray.
  • After going 2-1 behind, Dyche turned to Vokes off the bench, with the Welshman replacing Barnes for the final 10 minutes, seeing Burnley switch to a 4-4-2. Then, to provide some fresh legs, Michael Kightly and Steven Defour were introduced in place of George Boyd and Dean Marney in straight swaps for the final few minutes.
  • Dyche will be without the suspended Matt Lowton for the home fixture against Middlesbrough on Boxing Day, so Jon Flanagan appears likely to come in at right-back. Defour may push for a recall in central midfield, in either the 4-4-2 or 4-5-1, while Vokes could come into contention to replace either Barnes or Gray.

Current Status: Fairly Settled
Risk Areas: Right-Back, Central Midfield, Forwards

Chelsea

Starting XI: Courtois, Azpilicueta, Luiz, Cahill, Moses (Ivanovic 79), Kante, Matic, Alonso, Willian (Fabregas 64), Costa (Batshuayi 89), Hazard.

  • Antonio Conte made two changes from the side that beat Sunderland 1-0 for the trip to Selhurst Park, with the fit-again Eden Hazard replacing Pedro, while Nemanja Matic earned a recall at the expense of Cesc Fabregas.
  • Matic slotted in alongside N’Golo Kante in the usual 3-4-3 system, while Hazard returned on the left of the front three, with Willian starting on the opposite flank.
  • Willian was the first player to be replaced, though, with Fabregas taking his place shortly after the hour mark. The Spaniard played slightly narrower than Willian had down the right flank. Branislav Ivanovic then took over from Victor Moses at right wing-back as they shifted to a 3-5-1-1 with Hazard pushed behind the striker. Conte’s final substitution saw Michy Batshuayi provide fresh legs in place of Diego Costa in a straight swap for the final couple of minutes.
  • Conte will be without Kante and Costa for the home clash against Bournemouth after both players picked up their fifth yellow cards of the campaign on Saturday. Fabregas and Batshuayi appear likely to take their places in the starting XI then, while Pedro is a viable alternative to Willian on the right flank.

Current Status: Settled
Risk Areas: Central Midfield, Right Wing, Central Striker

Crystal Palace

Starting XI: Hennessey, Kelly (Fryers 84), Dann, Delaney, Ward, Cabaye (Campbell 79), Ledley, McArthur, Zaha, Benteke, Puncheon (Townsend 77).

  • Palace boss Alan Pardew made two alterations for the home encounter against Chelsea, with Jason Puncheon returning from suspension to replace Lee Chung-yong, while Joe Ledley came in for the injured Mathieu Flamini.
  • Those changes saw the Eagles line up in more of a 4-3-3, with Ledley joining Yohan Cabaye and James McArthur in central midfield, while Puncheon (left) and Wilfried Zaha (right) flanked central striker Christian Benteke.
  • Pardew made his first substitution with just 13 minutes remaining, with Andros Townsend brought on in place of Puncheon. Townsend played on the right wing, with Zaha moving across to the opposite flank. Then, in an attacking move, Fraizer Campbell was introduced for Cabaye, with Campbell joining Benteke up front in a 4-4-2. Zeki Fryers replaced Martin Kelly for the final six minutes, with Fryers playing at left-back, seeing Joel Ward move across to right-back.
  • After a reasonable performance against the leaders, and with his options appearing limited, Pardew isn’t expected to make many changes for the Boxing Day trip to Vicarage Road. Townsend may perhaps push for a recall, particularly if Pardew looks to go back to a 4-2-3-1, with one of Ledley or Cabaye possibly at risk of dropping to the bench. Campbell provides an option if the Palace manager considers switching to a 4-4-2.

Current Status: Fairly Settled
Risk Areas: Central Midfield, Flanks

Hull City

Starting XI: Marshall, Maguire, Dawson, Davies; Elmohamady, Livermore (Henriksen 70), Huddlestone (Bowen 86), Clucas, Robertson; Snodgrass, Mbokani (Diomande 70).

  • Mike Phelan only made one alteration for the trip to the London Stadium, with Dieumerci Mbokani back from his suspension to replace Adama Diomande in attack.
  • Mbokani returned as the lone striker for the Tigers in the 3-5-1-1 formation, with Robert Snodgrass continuing in the central attacking midfield role.
  • With the match still goalless, Phelan made a double substitution, with Markus Henriksen and Diomande replacing Jake Livermore and Mbokani in straight swaps. Then, after falling a goal behind, Phelan threw on Jarrod Bowen in place of Huddlestone, ending the match in more of a 3-4-3, with Bowen, Snodgrass and Diomande in attack.
  • Given that Hull entertain Man City on Boxing Day, Phelan will probably stick with the more conservative 3-5-1-1 formation. He doesn’t appear to have too many options to change things personnel wise, then, with Ryan Mason and David Meyler candiates to return in central midfield, while Diomande is a viable alternative to Mbokani in attack.

Current Status: Fairly Settled
Risk Areas: Central Midfield, Forwards

Leicester City

Starting XI: Schmeichel; Simpson, Morgan, Huth, Fuchs; Mahrez (Musa 80), King, Amartey, Albrighton (Gray 72); Slimani (Ulloa 72), Vardy.

  • Claudio Ranieri only made two changes from the side that lost 1-0 at Bournemouth for the trip to the bet365 Stadium, with Kasper Schmeichel returning from injury to replace Ron-Robert Zieler in goal, while Danny Simpson was back from suspension to come in for Luis Hernandez.
  • Simpson slotted into his usual position at right-back, then, while Jamie Vardy and Islam Slimani again combined in attack for the Foxes in the 4-4-2 formation.
  • Vardy’s sending off in the first-half led to that being a 4-4-1 system, but Ranieri only made his first changes in the 72nd minute, with Demarai Gray and Leonardo Ulloa coming on in place of Marc Albrighton and Slimani in straight swaps. Then, with 10 minutes remaining, Ahmed Musa took over from Riyad Mahrez on the right wing.
  • Leicester look set to appeal Vardy’s sending off, but should he remain suspended for the Boxing Day clash against Everton, either Shinji Okazaki or Ulloa could take his place in attack. Ranieri will be without the suspended Christian Fuchs and Robert Huth against the Toffees, though, so either Ben Chilwell or Jeffrey Schlupp could come in at left-back, with Hernandez likely to deputise at centre-back. Nampalys Mendy and Danny Drinkwater – should he recover from a knee problem – offer different options in central midfield, while Gray and Musa may challenge Albrighton for the starting berth on the left wing.

Current Status: Slightly Unsettled
Risk Areas: Left-Back, Central Defence, Central Midfield, Left Wing, Forwards

Man City

Starting XI: Bravo, Zabaleta (Sagna 46), Otamendi, Kolarov, Clichy, Fernando, Sane (Navas 75), Toure, Silva, De Bruyne (Iheanacho 83), Sterling.

  • Pep Guardiola made two alterations for the home clash against Arsenal, with Fernando recalled in place of the injured Ilkay Gundogan, while Leroy Sane started in place of Nolito.
  • Fernando started alongside Yaya Toure at the base of midfield in a 4-2-3-1 formation, while Sane was stationed on the right of the attacking midfield trio. Raheem Sterling initially started the match as a “false nine.”
  • Heading into half-time 1-0 down, Guardiola made one personnel change, with Bacary Sagna replacing Pablo Zabaleta in a straight swap, after the Argentinian picked up a knee problem. The City boss also made a tactical tweak, with Kevin de Bruyne taking over from Sterling as the “false nine,” while Sterling moved to the right wing, seeing Sane move to the opposite flank. The German was then replaced by Jesus Navas with 15 minutes remaining, seeing the Spanish winger operate on the right wing, with Sterling moving over to the left. Kelechi Iheanacho was handed a brief run-out, replacing De Bruyne in a straight swap for the final seven minutes.
  • Guardiola named an unchanged back four from the one that started against Watford, finally hinting at a degree of consistency in his defensive selection. Zabaleta is a doubt for the trip to Hull on Boxing Day, though, so Sagna could come in at right-back. John Stones was left out once more, and looks to have fallen behind Nicolas Otamendi and Aleksandar Kolarov in the pecking order at centre-back. The City boss will have Fernandinho available for the trip to the KCOM Stadium following the conclusion of the midfielder’s suspension, so he could replace Fernando in central midfield. The likes of Nolito and Iheanacho may also come into contention for recalls, although after coming from behind to beat the Gunners, the players who started on Sunday appear to be in the box seat to keep hold of their starting berths.

Current Status: Slightly Unsettled
Risk Areas: Right-Back, Central Midfield, Flanks, Lone Striker

Man United

Starting XI: De Gea; Valencia, Jones, Rojo, Darmian; Carrick, Herrera (Smalling 92); Lingard (Rashford 77), Pogba, Rooney (Fellaini 84); Ibrahimovic.

  • Jose Mourinho made three changes from the side that beat Crystal Palace 2-1 for the trip to the Hawthorns, with Antonio Valencia, who was available again after serving his one-match ban, replacing the injured Eric Bailly. Elsewhere, Matteo Darmian and Jesse Lingard returned in place of Daley Blind and Juan Mata.
  • Valencia and Darmian slotted in at right-back and left-back respectively, while Lingard was stationed on the right of midfield in the 4-1-4-1 formation.
  • It was Lingard who was the first player to be replaced, making way for Marcus Rashford in a straight swap for the final 13 minutes. Marouane Fellaini then took over from Wayne Rooney on the left side of midfield, while Chris Smalling replaced Ander Herrera late on to help see out the 2-0 victory.
  • With United hitting some form, Mourinho isn’t expected to make many changes for the home fixture against Sunderland on Boxing Day. It’s out wide where he could consider tweaks, with Henrikh Mkhitaryan likely to come into contention should he recover from an ankle injury. Rashford, Mata and Anthony Martial also offer further alternatives in the wide positions.

Risk Areas: Flanks

Middlesbrough

Starting XI: Valdes; Barragan, Chambers, Gibson, Fabio (Traore 87); Clayton; Ramirez (Friend 62), Forshaw, De Roon, Fischer (Downing 12); Negredo.

  • Middlesbrough head coach Aitor Karanka only made one change for the visit of Swansea City to the Riverside, with the fit-again Gaston Ramirez replacing Adama Traore.
  • Ramirez played on the right side of midfield in the 4-1-4-1 formation, with Viktor Fischer operating on the opposite flank.
  • Fischer’s afternoon lasted only 12 minutes, though, after he picked up a worrying looking knee injury. The Dane was replaced by Stewart Downing in a straight swap. With the home side leading 3-0, Karanka decided to take off Ramirez, with George Friend returning from injury to take his place in a more advanced role than usual. Traore was handed a few minutes late on in place of Fabio, with Friend then returning to his more familiar position at left-back.
  • Fischer appears a major doubt for the Boxing Day trip to Turf Moor, so Downing or Traore look set to compete for a starting spot out wide. Karanka will also be hoping Ramirez is fit after the Uruguayan was withdrawn due to a knee problem. With Friend now back to fitness, he may well replace Fabio at left-back against the Clarets, although the Brazilian could also shift to the right to challenge Antonio Barragán’s starting role.

Used my freebie already for Ibra although iw as originally planning to move firmino on so i don't have double Liverpool midfield. Can't see it being worth moving him on for a hit.

    Heaton

    Jones / Alonso / Barragan

    Hazard / Lallana / Sanchez / Firmino

    Ibra / Kane / Caroll

    Pickford / Amat / Evans / Obiang

Happy with Jones long term? Smalling and Bailly could reduced his gametime when they're fully fit.

I think so. i thought he would miss a game at some point but keeping clean sheets and Bailly off to AFCON.

Wouldn't surprise me if he misses one but i feel Rojo might go first for Smalling.

Depends which bit you want to place emphasis on really doesn't it... either "Is not injured" or "not a big issue, only a small problem" - they kind of contradict each other, no?

Exactly. Feel like it's dictating my team. Ideally I would've kept Firmino rather than buy Lallana but the shocking price system meant a swing of 0.5 in TV

It's ridiculous. Sorry for the rant that's about to ensue...

Imagine that both Player A and player B have 0.0 in the bank...

Player A) Finally caved in to buying Costa just last week, for 11.0. Can sell Costa this week, and if necessary buy him back again immediately next week, losing no cash... perhaps even gaining cash from Costa's inevitable value drop.

Player B) Had Costa since week 1, at 9.5. Can only sell him for 10.2. This means that Costa has to drop by a whole 0.8 for Player B to buy Costa back again next week. It also means that Player B has less cash to play with to replace Costa if they do choose to sell him. Any sane player in this position will have to bench Costa this week for his suspension, because it's too difficult/costly to get him back again.

How can anybody argue that this doesn't hinder/punish Costa's early adopters, whilst putting bandwagon jumpers at an advantage?

All players should be bought and sold at their current market value, always. None of this "sell at the point between what you bought them for and their current value" BS. How is this NOT a better way of doing it?!

Think the .1 sell value for .2 was meant to help long term owners but with the current pricing system it's contradicting that. I got Costa for 9.6 so I'm keeping him but yep, I feel hard done by.

            • 8 Years

I don't follow - how would it help long term owners more than a .2 sell value for a .2 rise?
Yeah I got him reasonably early too, not right at the beginning, but not like last week either... I'm going to have to keep him too.

The key word being "HAVE to keep him" - I'd love to be able to sell him this week, and buy him back again next week, but the pricing system prevents me from doing that - WHY!?!

Because you can't afford him. You think your TV is actual. It isn't. It's cosmetic. You have had the benefit of buying Costa cheap for almost half a season. By paying 1.0m or so less than others you have had 1.0m or so more to invest elsewhere in your team. And you have had that benefit for a long time.

You don't get to keep that benefit after you sell him, why should you? Seems perfectly reasonable to me.

Very well said, nicely summarized. I think this happens whenever people are forced to consider selling their season keepers -- the illusion of TV reveals itself and the distance between teams' actual purchasing power becomes much narrower than first believed.

Wrong phrasing. It was meant to encourage long term thinking. If SP and PP was same people would buy and sell the same player week in week out. They need to tweak the algorithm to increase the threshold though. A .3 drop for Costa is frankly ridiculous

Player B has 0.7 more team value, though, due to their management of Costa. That has to be considered an advantage over player A.

I get what you're saying, but the 50% tax system keeps things different. Some players will be encouraged to keep Costa, some will have no encouragement to keep him - different circumstances lead to different strategies which lead to reduced amounts of players with identical teams, which I think can only be a good thing.

I see your point also, but I also think it should work both ways. The 50% tax should apply to price drops as well as price rises, really?

This ^. Nobwak, you are only looking at half of the equation here. The early Costa buyer has options -- cash in and make profit, or hold and retain the value and spend the savings (from buying Costa cheap) elsewhere. The flipping of this stock is a short-term issue. The longer-term buy and option to hold or sell is another issue that needs to be considered in your evaluation of the pricing system.

To me, the issue I have is almost the opposite -- the ludicrous 50% tax. Other games I have played with market based soft caps have no such tax, and incent even more of a trade-off between trading for $ (as an investment in team value) vs. trading for immediate points. I would prefer the removal of the tax to promote more diversity in tactics and strategy.

            1. nobwak

Yes, but the option that the early Costa buyer does't have, which the late Costa buyer DOES have, is the option to sell Costa now whilst he's suspended and then buy him back immediately next week - which, I believe, is the option most (at least many) players would choose given the chance.

Again, there are many arguments FOR the tax, good arguments at that. That said, I'm yet to see a solid argument for why the tax is better than just buying and selling at current value. Or why the tax shouldn't work the other way when players prices fall.

OMG. But you are discounting or ignoring the fact (and drawback) that the late buyer has a built-in cost of having to shell out much more money to buy Costa at the later date. This higher priced buy requires more cash that cannot be used on other players. This is all economics 101.

Sorry, have to disagree. You got your money, you got your points, what else should you get for being an early Costa adopter?

Four years ago, Mark posted a lengthy ramble about how unfair the punishment was that he only got to keep half his profits from being an early Michu bandwagoner, one of the first weeks I was visiting this site regularly.

See above. The early Costa adopter should get the ability to sell Costa this week and buy him back again next week with the same money, like the late Costa adopter can. That's what else you should get.

So, for example, someone who bought Costa at 9.5M should be able to sell at 10.2., and then buy back at 10.2 even if the market price is 10.7? That is like charity. The stock market does not work that way. Early buyers, who have a profit in-hand if they sell, and extra cash to use because they were savvy and bought early and held, do not earn yet another benefit to "even things out." They have market forces to sway their decision.

            No...

For example, someone who bought Costa at 9.5 (his value at the time of purchase) should be able to sell at 11.0 (his value at the time of sale).. and then buy back at whatever his value is when they make that decision to repurchase him. How does that not make far more sense?!

Well if there was no tax on transfer profits this would be the case, but there is, and it's been an integral part of the game from the outset, not introduced just for Costa.

Agree. So, you are basically advocating to do away with the 50% tax. That's the point then. I also do not like the tax as it forces convergence of teams. I like differentiation.

Yes, thats exactly my point. I'm sorry if that wasn't entirely clear in the first place.

If we're going to have this tax, I'd expect it to work the other way too - so if your player drops by 0.2 then you only lose 0.1, just like you only gain 0.1 if your player's value rises by 0.2.

Funny. Yeah, it's mostly a socialist take on the game to inhibit a pure money-making strategy. It would be kinda bizarre though to only suffer a 50% loss on stocks that have fallen in value. Bottom Line: I would love to see no 50% tax, and the ability for one to carry over as many trades as they choose to accumulate. Would make the strategy and tactics more varied between fantasy owners.

To use your stock trader example - 2 guys selling the same stocks don't get different prices for what they're selling, based on when they purchased it, generally, do they?!
They get what it's worth in todays market! If one trader bought it cheap then great for them, they make a tasty profit, and so they should!

I think I prefer the rule on balance. We already feel compelled to a certain degree to chase value and ditch players who are due to drop for those who will rise- this season especially. This scenario would be far exacerbated if the tax were scrapped, and the differentials and insightful picks would be further crowded out.
I would rather chase points rather than pounds, it's what the game's about! The people who make 15 transfers a week to get a good team value are just sad acts

Yeah, that is where I disagree (and have experienced it from other fantasy games). Let the pure money makers go all out in search of value while the more near-term points motivated strategists adopt a different approach. I do not want the rules of the game to sway strategy.

                  Agree with this entirely.
I think it's pretty hard for a player chase value too aggressively without taking loads of point hits or using their wildcard anyway?

Right. The limited transfers is a good thing. Every game has that. I like the way this game allows one to "buy transfers" with points. I had not seen that in the games I have played. However, I want the ability (not that I am good at it; I am just too impulsive) for managers to save an infinite # of trades. This will increase the variability in aggressive vs. conservative strategies.

Yep, totally agree. There's not much reward for getting it spot on, doing well and sitting back thinking "I've got two transfers but I don't want to change my team". By the next week, everyone's gone and got your star performing players in and you've only got 1 more transfer than them. Banking transfers would revolutionise the game, but I think they need to test it first

Exactly. The savvy manager who has 2 FTs and does not want to change his/her team, should be rewarded (or at least not punished) for saving the trade, and then having 3 FT the following week, etc. This use-it-or-lose-it rule after having 2FT forces roster turnover for some managers who may wish to play a very patient game.

Thanks for the offer. Go on then ...

      A: Kane to Ibra
      or
B: Nacho to Ibra and Eriksen to Allen? Kane would be a placeholder for Kun.
      or
C: Forget Ibra. Just do Nacho to Tekkers. Keep Kane!

My thinking is Kane's stats look ok to me. Ibra had two shots and both went in. Kane had five shots, unfortunately none went in, but at least one was on target. Surely he can turn that around can't he?

Did you watch the Spurs game? Kane was almost playing at CAM with Dele and Eriksen more advanced. He's been in very poor form since returning.

Kane to Ibra and Nacho to Lukaku or Origi depending on tonight's results will give you increased SV for Kun.

I have been in the same situation as you re Walker, and decided to keep him and going without Che defender for the time being. Walker is too good to ditch and with Toby back I think they will match Chelsea in terms of clean sheets. Besides Chelsea has had an insane amount of CS. I'm also thinking of ditching Haz later on. Debating Evans to Jones for a hit this week.

          Heaton / Pick
          Walker Amat Holebas (Evans Aké)
Sanche Haz Payet Siggy de Roon
          Ibra Origi (Costa)

I would honestly never play a SWA defender after that performance against Boro.

Evans to Jones is tempting, but WBA have incredible fixtures in a couple of weeks so I'd be tempted to keep :/

Team looks great though - Ibra (c)?

Exactly Midwicket. When I saw that penalty foul from Amat I just sighed...

Plan is to do Payet and Amat to Couts and Brunt in GW20, thus covering WBAs grear fix run. Sounds good?

Yeah most likely, although temped by Haz as a differential. And you?

Yeah that sounds fantastic. Brunt is the ideal cover.

Yeah it's Ibra (c) or Hazard (c) for me. Chelsea v a poor BOU side (away from home they are shocking and Ake is out so they're decimated at the back). Plus Haz would be a nice differential.

Ibra (c) is the obvious choice, will lead the captaincy poll and SUN's defensive stats are far worse than even BOU's...

It will be interesting to see Hazard without Costa. Maybe the team will set up for Hazard to score instead of Costa? Although bit affraid of enemies learning how to restrict the Chelsea attack of late.

Ibra should be safe! Coming from a 2 GW Kane captainer 😉

We need Aguero back to mix up the teams and more thought needed for financial selection, too many of us having the "looks good on paper" team. With Agueros cost, more planning is needed, better squad management and it really does split the overall decision making dynamic. Come back soon......

I did the same move on Saturday. Wouldn't normally make the move so early, but Lala rising and Firmino dropping forced my hand! All part of my 'getting Kun back' plan.
