Fantasy Eliteserien – Gameweek 12 Preview

Two Gameweeks has passed since the last article and it’s been another two weeks with a low average score. The upcoming Gameweek is the last one before an international break. Also, be wary of the cup games today and tomorrow, injuries could be on the cards.

FFSCOUT LEAGUE STANDINGS

On top of the FFS League we find Bøllefrø with a total score of 539 points. Right behind him Våtisenga, Hellerud Homeboys and Rossbach 2 TheFuture are chasing with 537 points.

There are 44 teams that’s 30 points or less behind Bøllefrø, so it’s still very open.

In the head-to-head league Dutch Warriors are still leading with an impressive 10 victories out of 11.

STOCK CHECK

RISING
Andreas Lie (5.1)
His stock continues to climb after 10 points in the previous two matches. A clean sheet and four saves against Sandefjord, before he had five saves and bonus points against Brann away. With good fixtures coming up it’s difficult to look elsewhere.

Sigurd Rosted (5.9)
After putting him as a faller in my last article, he has since bounced back with 15 and nine points in the previous two Gameweeks. Six bonus points, two clean sheets and one goal scored in those two games. Sarpsborg are now looking like the team we expected them to be, scoring less and keeping more clean sheets.

Amin Nouri (5.5)
He’s been very much overlooked due to Rolantsson doing well. From his right-back position, he’s been very attacking lately and has picked up three assist in the previous four Gameweeks. Last time out he gained two bonus points as well. Brann only kept one clean sheet in that period. He’s worth keeping an eye on, especially if Rolantsson stops delivering and continues to be subbed before 60 minutes.

Eirik Ulland Andersen (7.9)
He’s been the standout performer over the past few weeks. After starting the season with an injury, he’s now started the last five games. In those five matches he’s scored 40 points, scoring three goals and assisting three. He’s on most set pieces, and also capable of scoring direct from free kicks. Not the best fixtures coming up though, with Rosenborg and Vålerenga away in the next two.

Edwin Gyasi (7.4)
Mentioned as a differential in the last article, he’s now scored in three games in a row and picked up three bonus points. Aalesund are currently looking like a decent team and with good fixtures coming up, there’s no denying he’s a good pick.

Samuel Adegbenro (7.3)
Another one mentioned as a faller in my last article. Against Stabæ he picked up two bonus points, before he scored, assisted and picked up another bonus point in a 4-2 loss against Strømsgodset. Viking appear doomed at the moment, but he’s head and shoulders above the other players currently. With home games against Kristiansund and Haugesund coming up, as well as an away game against Lillestrøm, it might be time to fetch him back in.

Erling Knudtzon (7.7)
It might seem to be a knee-jerk to include a player that scored 25 points in the first 10 Gameweeks, but his hat-trick and 20-point haul against Tromsø puts him back on our radar. Having started the first nine Gameweeks as a right midfielder, he’s been playing up front along with another out of position midfielder Udoji in a 4-4-2 in the last two Gameweeks. Against Tromsø he was able to use his blistering pace against a naive and high defensive line, so I won’t be expecting similar hauls every week. The out of position appeal is tempting and puts him on our radar.

Erik Huseklepp (8.3)
Another midfielder playing as a striker. He’s started a few matches up front this year, and in the previous two matches he’s scored 10 points (one assist and two bonus points). Huseklepp are struggling for goals at the moment, but there are definitely potential here. One to keep an eye on.

Mos (8.9)
If there are any essential players at the moment, I’d say it’s Mos. In a game full of unreliable players, Mos has scored a goal in seven out of 11 Gameweeks. With some luck he could have scored against Brann last Gameweek as well. He’s yet to score a double-digit haul, but that might change with a bunch of good fixtures coming up.

Bjørn Bergman Sigurdarson (9.6)
As with Mos, he’s one of few strikers currently scoring well. He’s scored two goals in the previous three, as well as picking up three bonus points. In my opinion, he’s been quite unlucky to not get bigger hauls so far, so this is definitely a player you would want in your team.

Fallers

Piotr Leciejewski (5.5)
We all expected better from him. A keeper who many regarded as the best in Eliteserien before this season has now been personally at fault for  quite a few goals Brann has conceded. One clean sheet in the previous six is is way less than expected.

Vegard Eggen Hedenstad (6.7)
The most expensive defender in the game, except for Rolantsson. In the previous seven Gameweeks, he’s blanked six times – a major disappointment. Good fixtures are on the horizon, so this might change going forward.

Gili Rolantsson (7.0)After an amazing spell, he’s now blanked in three of the last four games. He’s been withdrawn before 60 minutes on two occasions. He’s still a good option playing as a left winger, but certainly not as essential as he was before.

Pål Andre Helland (10.9)
The most expensive midfielder in the game. As with Hedenstad he’s blanked in six of the last seven games. Rosenborg doesn’t look good going forward and he looks like a shadow of himself. He’s just not justifying his price tag at the moment.

Nicklas Bendtner (12.3)
I have to admit he’s been looking better lately, but it’s not enough to justify owning the most expensive man in the game. Scoring just a single goal in the last five fails to meet our expectations. Now he’s suspended for Rosenborg’s next game after picking up his third yellow of the season

DIFFERENTIALS FOR GAMEWEEK 12

Erling Knudtzon (7.7)
Although it’s not the best fixture, I’d back him to do well continuing in his striker role against Stabæk away. 4.6% ownership.

Matthias Vilhjalmson (8.2)
The most likely replacement for Bendtner. He’s looked dangerous whenever he’s played this season, both as a midfielder and as a striker. I’d back him to do well this Gameweek. He’s a really short term option, but with 1.8% ownership he could make a massive difference.

Eirik Schulze (5.0)Most people think of Koomson whenever we talk about Sogndal’s attack, but this guy has been doing very well lately. As with Gyasi, he’s now scored in three straight games and also assisted a goal. He probably won’t keep on scoring at that rate, but I’d back him to do well against Sandefjord at home. 1.1% ownership.

I’d also back previous differentials.Luc Kassi (6.0), Aaron Sigurdarson (6.3)and Edwin Gyasi (7.4) to do well this Gameweek.

Dead teams 10th and 14th overall. 4th hasn't done any transfers, just played wildcard. 6th has done two transfers all season.

Hopefully these people start playing properly soon and mess up their teams, so we can overtake them. 😆

If Helland doesn't deliver today I might sell him for Knudtzon I think.. Will probably wait another 2 weeks though (until deadline), won't risk anything with the international break.

I'm thinking this too - Knudtzon is looking good and VIK, vif, SIF as next 3 looks pretty tasty fixtures-wise considering their defending lately

My Missus transferred in Knudtzon AND captained him. Lots of (un)gentle ribbing this morning as we checked our teams. She's up to 3rd in FFS, I'm floundering in 80th. I knew agreeing to playing Fantasy Football against each other was not going to end well. My only hope is that she gets bored and gives up soon, and that she doesn't read this post. (She lurks for tips, which sounds a bit sordid when you type it).

Been out of the loop for a few weeks, I'm a dead team now 😛
Decided to make some transfers, 2FT obviously, 0.5 ITB
Any suggestions? No idea how form is going currently, only seen Knudtson a lot in the comments.

    Linde / McDermott
Rolantsson Grogaard Hedenstad / Ryerson Moe
Jensen Haugen Svendsen Adegbenro / Vicente
    Sigurdarson Omo Lindberg

Thinking a mini wildcard for -12 of
    Linde > Lie
    Jensen > Brochman
    Vicente > Knudzton
    Omo > Mos
    Hedenstad > Anyone

    Thoughts?

What formation are people trying to build their team around?

After the initial high scores of Mortensen, Ohi, Kastrati and the Haugesund attackers, it seems like the high scoring attackers are Sigurdarson and Mos. Stokke, Sigurdarson and Mortensen are the only attackers that are the highest scoring players of their respective teams. If you ignore goalkeepers, Mos is also in that mix.

Brochmann, Haugen(+Rolantsson), Knudtzon, Zahid, Jensen/Midtsjø(+Reginiussen), Jradi, Koomson, Adegbenro and Sigurdarson are all the highest scoring player of their respective team. 18 of the 30 highest scoring players are midfielders. It's starting to get difficult benching midfielders over attackers.

I have the exact cash to upgrade Shuaibu to BBS if I pull the trigger now. Mos, Sigurdarson and Ohi would be my front three. I am starting to think it would be better to do Ohi to BBS and leave more money available for midfield transfers for the eventual Bendtner swap.

As a dead team, going 3 5 2. As the midfield seems to be getting the majority of the points -as you just said- I think I'll maximise my coverage there.

Ohi still getting loads of great chances, but it's worrying that he's not scoring more goals at the moment..

Viking has changed formation to 4-3-3 with Adegbenro and Skimmeland Aasheim on the flanks. Will be interesting to see how attacking Ryerson is, or if he's still sitting deep.

These games seem to have given very few points to anyone, so 17 points from 5 plus captain is actually decent.

Midtsjø and Hedenstad should probably both have an assist, but there is a possibility that the direction of the crosses/shots mostly came from the Godset players.

Shuaibu and Stølås on the bench sucks a bit, but I'd rather have my bench players take points than prove themselves as worthless.

      Hedenstad: 60%

I think his cross is not going towards Vilhjalmsson before the deflection, but the deflection happens less than a feet away from Hedenstad, so it's very harsh to not give him the assist when it's difficult to tell the intention.

I doubt Koomson will get an assist. He puts in a cross that Bye gets under control. Bye then has his first shot blocked. His second attempt goes in.

    Midstjo assist: https://youtu.be/9KT1L_pAQds?t=14

Bad quality, but put it on 0.25 speed and he is clearly the one touching it.

You can clearly see that Midtsjø touches the ball with his laces at higher quality. The defender didn't seem to touch it, so it should be an assist. What worries me is that they've been a bit sloppy with awarding assists to own goals so far.

Let the confusion begin... what will Rosenborg coach do now.... in Bendtners abscense Vilhjalmsson did 5 goals in 2 cup-games, followed by goal+assist in the league, added on to his previous good performances in midfield..... who starts next game..... it'll be Bendtner, but I'm wondering what happens with Vilhjalmsson....
