The Big Numbers – Gameweek 2

It’s time for our regular post-Gameweek members’ article as we assess some of the standout statistics from the previous ten matches.

A handful of mid-price wide men from Watford, West Ham and Southampton catch the eye, while Spurs and Liverpool’s left-backs chalk up some impressive figures.

Chelsea and Newcastle United’s new strikers also come under analysis as we assess their early impacts in the top flight.

Should I use my 1 FT with:

    Foster (Myhill)

    TAA Yoshida Daniels (Mee) (Rosenoir)

    Willian KDB Eriksen JWP (Carroll)

    Firmino Lukaku Jesus

    ITB: 1.5mil

Thinking of either TAA or Daniels -> Trippier/Jones/Dawson but worried about rotations
Also want Pogba but should I take a -4 hit? Who to replace?

I'd be tempted to save the FT. Having to frees over the break would be great, and the upgrade from Willian to Pogba is not likely to have an instant impact. But if you were to get Pogba I would get him for Willian for not hit. Wait on the defence.

Sure it's a worry, but nobody you bring in is guaranteed a cleanie, so you could find you blow a transfer to get 1 or no extra points, whereas having two next week would allow a mini-WC over the break (ie, three transfers for -4).

Looking at a WC either this week or next week...which of these would you drop:
    A) Alonso > 6.5 or under
    B) Jones > 4.5
    C) Cedric > 4.5
    D) Ramsey > 6.5 or under (already getting Richarlison)

        Zanka > Holgate
        Mooy > Mane
Richarlison > RLC and rotate the two 4.5 mids

United have a settled team and formation while Arsenal are all over the place. They will undergo more flux when Alexis returns. And Ramsey is injury prone. Plus Arsenal play without a proper DM so I expect his place to be under threat in tough games. Wenger might prefer a Xhaka Elneny/Coq combine.

Arsenal and spurs are a little further from setttling than Man Utd. Man Utd far from the finished article and were mediocre at best at times against Swansea last week. But beating a team 4 - 0 playing like that can only mean good rhings for Utd assets.

Ramsey may well challenge for fpl points yet but arsenal are no where near settling and until then i would avoid

I was thinking about how many players there are in each posistion for top 6 teams who we expect to score consistent attacking returns.

Simply, Spurs only have 3 and score lots of goals. If you cover their players over the season you can expect a lot of returns.

City have at least 5 players in every match who could bring home the attacking points. Over the course of a season you would expect City and Spurs to score a similar number of goals. However, City's spread of attacking points is likely to be more varied. They look. Poorer option.

So for anyone wondering what to do with KDB. Simply, switch to a Spurs midfielder. Or Jesus/Aguero - switch to Kane. The numbers add up.

    Top 6

    Chelsea - 4 Alonso, Pedro/Willian, Hazard, Morata
Spurs - 3 Eriksen, Alli, Kane
    City - 5 Aguero, Jesus, KDB, Salah/Sterling, Silva/Silva
    United - 4 Lukaku, Martial/Rashford, Pogba, Mikhi
Liverpool - 3/4 Firmino, Mane, Salah (Coutinho if stays)
Arsenal - 3/4 Lacazette/Giroud, Ramsey, Sanchez (if stays), Ozil

my pick vs imo (best) pick
      Chelsea - Alonso (Hazard)
      Spurs - Kane (Kane)
      City - Jesus (Aguero)
      United - Lukaku (Lukaku)
      Liverpool - Mane (Mane)
      Arsenal - Ramsey (Sanchez)

Interesting, I like this theory. Son might get back to nabbing a few points for spurs but I can see the top 3 there all doing well, and consistently. Makes KDB to Eriksen more likely after this week.

Poor - Average first two weeks but fairly happy with this team:

    Pickford (Elliot)

B wins by 3 -2 (Firm over Chic, Kane over Aggy, Alonso over Luiz) Pogba and Mane big winners over Silva and Chamberlain though.

Eriksen one of 3 big Tot scores. Pool share it around more. Could be wrong of course and Mane may smash it. Eriksen very consistent with points.

Once his fixtures clear up, Hazard returns etc. I think many will be interested, especially as his price isn't too bad.

    Hi guys,

I wasn't able to catch the Newcastle game this past week. For anyone who watched, how did Atsu play?

Havent watched it too but read that whole Newcastle was poor so nothing special about Atsu.

Read the same thing, was hoping somehow that Atsu was solid in an otherwise lackluster showing or something. Not looking to transfer out but maybe will need to start playing defenders over him if the team keeps struggling.

defo keep at least one more week if that's your concern

I watched it and Newcastle were poor. It was a bad game lacking quality. I expect Newcastle to improve dramatically. Give him another week minimum

Yep not looking to transfer out any time soon at all, just wanted to make sure he was still at least getting forward and worth starting over Suttner or some other defender. Cheers

He got very far forward at times, but that is about it.

    Gabriel Jesus -
Average first game away to Brighton, lack of a cutting edge at home to Everton and then withdrawn for a re-shape when down to 10 men with Aguero preferred to lead the line. With Kane facing Burnley at Wembley I'm thinking its time to drop the Brazilian. What do you guys think?

Same position as you...I'm thinking of going Kane (C), but I really want to give Jesus one more match.

    RMWCT

    Foster/Elliot
    Alonso | Trippier | Jones | Yoshida | Smith
    Mhki | Eriksen | Jese | RLC | Carroll
    Kaku | Kane | Firmino

Jese playing OOP looks a steal.

    Thanks Guys.

Jese is still a punt and we don't know much but not bad pick.
Tem looks very good but maybe Smith>Mbamba?

Yeah I have swapped to Mbemba, didn't realise he got some minutes. Leaves 0.1 ITB. Arsenal cover is an issue but I don't see how I can get it all in.

FFFix says lukaku is 11.7 but FPL says 11.6 . Why?
