Nice one Demi
Tragic that Sherwood is giving his at the same time as Carver. Everyone will be listening to Carver over the crunching sound of popcorn.
Boring. Thanks anyway.
Cheers Demi - Carver should be interesting
Be interesting if Aaron's and SDJ get more minutes. Could make a big difference to a terrible side *clutching at straws
I just want to hear the words that SDJ is going to start this week so I can take a huge punt like Charlie Brown kicking a ball Lucy is holding for him.... some day it will work, but probably not today.
Will we not get the usual Arsenal update at 10am?
Think the main press conference is tomorrow, but probably also an update today(not as a press conference)
Ok cheers Demi
I need Chelsea and arsenal news by tomorrow 🙁
Newcastle go top of the table
on PhysioRoom's EPL injury table
http://www.physioroom.com/news/english_premier_league/epl_injury_table.phpMaybe they got injured on purpose
well, it does include 3 defenders and a defensive midfielder so it may be a conspiracy at the back line
; - )
Been there the whole season :/
For the DGW
A. Giroud + Albrighton/Hendo
B. Defoe + Cazorla
C. Vardy + Ozil (+a 5.8 defender to replace Skrtel & bench one of JT/Ivan)If you have the extra .6 to go Wickham & Cazorla... then that perhaps
otherwise I think C edges itnope. actually 0.1 short to doing Hendo -> Ozil straight swap 🙁
so who's the best 5.8 defender for the last 2 GWs? Playing PVA + JT/Ivan + himVlaar?
Why Vlaar? I can see his name being mention a lot.. Are AVL keeping CS that I'm not aware of?
Playing hard. Decent fixtures. Given between the sticks trying to prove he can still be a #1.
Fair point. Still not convinced. Thanks for the thoughts.
I'd go with A. If you want to take a risk,if you're chasing, C.
A is sensible. thanks you two
Can Rambo wait a week? Surely he won't get double figures again.
The old it can't possibly happen again approach....we've all been there. Arsenal players seem to take it turns, first Sanchez, then Caz, then Giroud and now Ramsey.
Exactly, who will be essential by Tuesday morning?
I'm hoping my transfers will end up with Ramsey waiting a week. I'd like another week to decide on that 2nd midfield spot.
He could easily get double figures again though 🙂No idea. But looking at the History tab, he's capable of doing it again. Sorry.
I want him in, but it's gonna need a hit.
Luckily I already got him in with my DGW34 WC. Tough call - risky to ignore him, but not sure about taking hit for him this week. If I were you, I'd pass and find a big sofa on MNF. Good luck
Better to do
Sterling -> Larson / Jordi
Vardy -> Benteke
or
Sterling -> Rambo
Fabregas -> Sanchez
still have Skrtel tho ....Schmeichel or Panti?
Panti for DGW
Which to play this week? I own both
For this week - Scmeichel
Done spreadsheet btw, wouldn't mind being benched this week. Not feeling confident
Schmeichel
Kasper. Panti next week. I have both too
Cheers all
Pants, Save points! can't see either keeper keeping CS
Good point, cheers
Schmeichel or Davis?
the home team
cheers nabil. thoughts on a sub 5.0 defender punt for this week only?
Quick reminder to those in the UK - go out and vote!
already have but you can still have an upvote
Unless you're voting UKIP/Conservative, in which case, forget.
dont think anyone on here will be voting ukip theyd probably ban the foreign players 😆
Tsk tsk.
Value of democracy trumps political leanings. Consider the alternative. It was tongue in cheek, I believe in the old Evelyn Beatrice Hall quote"I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it". I'd never vote UKIP/Conservative, but of course I believe everyone should vote for who they believe should be in power.
Have yourself an upvote sir.
To be fair I can't understand why anyone would vote Labour either, but it takes people like you and me to make a democracy. More people voting is always a good thing though.
Fair enough, my girlfriend's family are all die-hard Tories (except for her), mine all die-hard Labour - it takes all sorts I guess. I think growing up in Liverpool and seeing what Thatcher's government in particular did to cities and communities set the tone for my belief system.
Fair enough, personal circumstances do shape things a lot (especially the Thatcher era). As a highly skilled immigrant who had to go through hell to get a UK work permit, I totally understand the appeal of UKIP and a fairer points based immigration system.
An immigrant in favour of UKIP? Well I never, a bit like a turkey voting for Christmas Day no? 😉
Haha don't believe all the media hype, their policies seem a lot fairer to skilled immigrants imo. I don't reckon my vote will count in central London though, far too safe a Tory seat.
I'm in North West London, Hampstead and Kilburn. I think it's usually a fairly safe Labour seat, but you can never be too sure!
One of the tightest marginals around!! There were 42 votes in it last time!
Get yourself out and vote Labour.... please!I will be, straight to the polling station after work.
Good man.
I'm not loyal to any party. I just vote for whoever has the best manifesto at the time.
This is probably the best way to be, and it's what I do in principle, but I don't think I can help an instinctive subconscious bias. If, say, the BNP came out with a great manifesto in 5 years, I still wouldn't be able to vote for them because I don't believe a party's history will just suddenly disappear or become irrelevant.
For instance, the current Tory leadership grew up with Thatcher's government. They, as young men, looked at what Thatcher was doing to the poorest and most vulnerable across the country and decided that yes, that was the party for them. That does not sit well with me.The Tories have taken millions of the lowest paid out of work to be fair. They are also tackling tax avoiders and plan to invest more in the NHS than Labour.
I try to avoid propaganda because it's almost always misleading, the stats on the NHS have been good, for example. Thousands more doctors/nurses/midwives have been added. And now they are aiming for 7-day a week GPs.out of work = out of income tax* 😳
Freudian slip in that first sentence? 😉
🙂
They've taken a lot out of unemployment by giving them zero hour contracts! And the privatisation of the NHS would be a travesty.
1/50 of the 2 million jobs created are zero hour contracts. And most of those people want a zero hour contracts. That was Labour propaganda.
The NHS will always be free, that is their policy. The privitisation has been blown out of proportion. Charities like Marie Curie do good work and I'm happy for them to take part.Around 3/4 of a million people on zero hour contracts - that is not what people deserve.
I do take your point though, it is very hard to discern what is factual and what is propaganda. The media is saturated with propaganda - the tabloids have been on an anti-Miliband crusade for months. If you google "Daily Mail Miliband", the results are terrifying.Couldn't agree more. Some papers have ridiculous bias. I've spoken to two mates at the pub who are on zero hour contracts. They said it would be a disaster for them if they were banned. One owns a business that can only be open at certain times of the year. He relies on zero hour contracts to fill the gaps.
Tories have made it possible to have more than 1 zero hour contract now, which has helped. But Labour want to ban them...
Sorry to disappoint then 🙂
Hear hear
Thats like asking the opposition not to turn up in a football match.
It really hacks me off when people don't vote in elections. People died in wars aplenty so that you could have the right to vote.
The problem is, that depending on where you live you can often be certain that your vote is meaningless. Doesn't apply to the majority though.
I don't think you can ever be that complacent. I've seen seats lost because certain voters thought it was a formality at the ballot box.
And if you happen to dislike all those involved? Irish here, can't remotely stand any of the twats in our political system. In fact, the only reason I vote is to help make sure Sinn Fein don't get in.
In which wars exactly? I'm not aware of people fighting wars for the vote? Not in the UK
I'd rather eat a dog turd than vote for any of those corrupt, over-privileged a$s-clowns.
None of them are perfect, but it's a complete myth that they're all the same. There are big differences between Conservative, Labour, UKIP, Greens and SNP, and surely you'd favour one?
I'm from a labour intense area up North. It's drilled into me but I think Ed Miliband is a complete muppet.
Whilst there are party differences I would bet my mortgage that If you gave the the 3 top differentiated policies of each part, in 4 years nothing will have changed.
This 'democratic' system is designed to maintain the status quo and the rich will continue to monopolise it whilst several masquerade as the common man...
Been away for a while and only just noticed Doosra has started posting again, great stuff and best of luck in your continued recouperation
What is he recuperating from?
Moreno & Remy ----------> Kosc & Wickham for free ???
Would give me 3 arsenal dgw and 2 sun dgw.o/
That's easy. Getting rid of two guys not playing for two guys who are playing and have a DGW coming up.can you afford defoe?
Defoe is cheaper.
Wickham's form is better. Kid loves springtime... it's like his agent calls him every April and leaves this message, "Hi Conor. You haven't really done the necessaries for a raise. Kick on and bag a few before the end of the season and we'll see what we can do. Cheers."This is my thinking 🙂
I'd actually consider a Danny Graham punt over Defoe
Easy decision yes! Who are your 3 Arsenal out of interest?
Other two are Sanchez and Gru
Rivals bench last GW.
http://gyazo.com/b02dab85511ad8a928547d8db0cc99a0
Scoring a total of -3 points.Whereas his starting 11 managed to bring him 82 points....
So he chose well. What's your point?
I don't think I've ever seen a bench with such a low amount of points, that's my point.
So we have Lucy, Christina, Katie and Ruth.
Which ones are actually girls?Lucy is
Christina is not
Ruth, I don't think so
Katie, unsure, but definitely surly* Lucy is a woman. Definitely not a girl.
And this!
Girl/Woman = same in this context.
No. It does not. And if you saw Lucy's posts about sexism on this website earlier in the season, you'd recognize that.
Their are two gender's. Male and Female. Each of them could be commonly referred to as "boy" or "girl". I don't see your point? Jafa was trying to identify which of the community have the XX chromosome or the XY chromosome. Has nothing to do with sexism.
Just Lucy I think. Not sure if Katie is still pretending.
I don't know, but there are signs that his/her crush on Tom Brady is wavering in light of Brady being implicated in deflate-gate (shocking news, really)
Just seen his text messages on the news. Must have known about the balls.
Yes. And this is shocking.
The taint will stain.
Demi
Shhh
Christina and Ruth aren't, Lucy is, don't know about Katie.
Lucy is
Christina shemale I think
Katie no idea
Ruth is a dude.Uh oh 😯
and there was Fran of course.
the 'famous' Fran picks
Fran is a bit of a male Irish name afaik
Lucy is, Katie might be
Realistically, their could be Females on this site with usernames that don't suggest their gender.
* raises eyebrow
Indeed. Not like it matters either way.
Speak for yourself. Some boys and men have heart palpitations and heavier breathing when they know they're speaking to a woman.
Well, there are definitely 5 who are regularly on here ... 😀
: - D
Bemba is a WAG.
OMG
Sterling to an Everton midfielder for this week? If so, who??
Mirallas or Barkley
Lennon can't play week 38 as he's on loan from TottenhamCool thanks for that, was leaning towards lennon. Not sure Mirallas is getting enough minutes though or Barkley enough pts
Yup on all those situations. Along with fixtures, why I am looking elsewhere.
Ah that just moved Mirallas above Austin as my GW38 flair (c) pick.
what to do this week chaps?
K Davis / Schmeichel
Terry, PVA, Skrtel, Schlupp, Toby
Haz, Fabregas, Sterling, Henderson, Boyd
Aguero, Kane, Giorud
£1.7ITB, 2FTs
any help appreciated.
CheersSterling -> Silva and save 1FT for next week
Sterling ---> Cazorla
your teams looking awfully similar to mine prior my moves earlier in the week. I did Fab Hendo Sterling > Sanchez Ramsey Gomez -4. Gonna leave you playing a mid you dont really want to play tho i guess this week. I had Silva over Boyd
Cheers guys.
Sanchez in is a must as my ML rival has him and he closed the gap this week. ML rival also has Ramsey so that would be the smart choice but slightly worried about playing time.
Gomez is not a bad shout, was thinking possibly Larsson as an alternatvie but not sure yet.
What's the consensus on Hazard then? Missing the game this weekend?
Playing. No worries.
Good. Was worried it would give my opponent an easy 'in' for sanchez.
Apparently back in training today & will play.
Groovy!
@Shifty,
thoughts on a sub 5.0 defender punt for this week only - I'm not so sure. Many mentioned Vlaar but I'm still not convinced. I still think Morgan is the man if you're not maxed out LEI - I really wouldn't mind doubling up. Jenkinson looks good too - especially with the way Adrian is playing.Thanks. Yea, Vlaar seems to be the popular pick. Have one more Leicester spot, might go with with him.
Not sure about WHU defensively though at the moment. Haven't watched them - they looking good?ask the expert below 😉
*Cresswell
he said 5.0 😉
good to have you back DoosMany a ship sunk for a ha'porth of tar ...
Cheers, Nabil 🙂
🙂
Jeez...they're showing some pommie talent show on tv and there's a dog that can hypnotise people. 😕
I'm watching that... 😆
Britain's Got Talent? Guaranteed at least 3 dogs or street dance "troupes" an episode.
Please don't tempt me with RVP again. He ruined my great start to the season. Too many armbands fell his way in easy fixtures...
😀
Do you want to see my table? 😉Yes please 🙂
I wish there was a stat that would reflect "Shots on target and not so directly at the keeper that it was an easy save"
'Big chances'
Oh my...
They've looked so toothless recently though, and would funding him mean ditching Aguero? He isn't exactly doing badly in Doosra's table.
I would never lose Aguero.
Nah, play it safe and go for Sturridge 😉
Quick poll for this week as a differential...
a) Mirallas
b) Fellaini
c) Fer
d) Albrighton
?
Cheers.D
e) De Jong
E) Grealish 😉
Hope Mane is passed fit
Quick poll:
A) Labour
B) Cazorla
C) Conservatives
D) GiroudE) David Beckham
Find out who has secured our Dimitar Berbatov smooth operator accolade for the week in our latest Rough with the Smooth round up of your Gameweek 35 tales of woe and joy.
http://www.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/2015/05/07/the-rough-with-the-smooth-gameweek-35/I see So Klose hasn't beaten my 37 points that I benched on GW 1 😉
... Or my 47 last Season ... 😉
Ouch. Who would of thought we would be dumb enough to bench that many points! 😛
Indeed - involved Ridgewell and 18 points. However, my team scored 53, so I was not too miffed! 🙂
Well done Doos 😀
There may be bargains to be had at Man Utd also
I can't believe Doosra is ahead of me, how has he managed that?! Hell of an impressive season.
Thank you very much - not sure if deserved ...
BUT - I will revel in it!
*arranges deck chair, lights cigar, sits down from zimmer*
If Cresswell is 5.0 next season, he'll be my 1st defender - after Terry/Ivan.
Got to put Ivan in my team from the start next year and just leave him
Doing it with Terry this year. No brainer strategy
Here's hoping.
Anyone got a handle on the price changes?
Looking at how close Sterling is to fall and Sanchez to rise?
Know its late in the season but can do it by 0.1 now, would rather wait for press conferences!Sterling at 54% to drop
Sanchez at 91% to riseCheers mate, one is fine. Just not both!
http://www.fplstatistics.co.uk/Home/IndexIPad
The accuracy is high
Should I play Migs or Pants this week?
Migs
Yes. (sorry, couldn't resist ;-))
They'll probably both concede, but Pants will probably get more save points, so I would lean that way.
Morning chaps
Any ideas what I should do?
Guzan / Davis
Bellerin / Vlaar / Terry / Bertrand / Skrtel
Hazard / Silva / Hendo / Sterling / Phillips
Aguero / Kane / Murray
2.5 ITB, 2FT
I'm thinking Sterling > Albrighton for the money (leaves me with 6.8ITB) but then what?
a) Murray > Benteke (Kane -> Giroud for the DGW)
b) Murray > Giroud
c) Hendo > Sanchez
d) a) or b) and Hendo > Ozil / Ramsey / Cazorla (-4)
e) other?Sterling & Hendo -> Ramsey & Ozil this week
Murray -> Wickham next weekInteresting idea! I can do Ramsey & Ozil, but it'll leave me with nothing in the bank, so Murray > Wickham won't happen. Could do Murray > Graham for Sunderland cover instead, but I just can't bring myself to believe that Sunderland will do anything in the DGW. However, I said that about Hull in the last DGW, and look what happened there!
I guess the question is, which of these groupings looks better for the DGW:
1) Benteke, Giroud, Ramsey & Albrighton (-8)
2) Kane, Graham, Ramsey & Ozil (no hits)
need some quick advice.....
I have to make transfers today so cant wait for press conference tomorrow as at a wedding :/
want sanchez/ozil
was going to sell sterling/fab for them...
but seeing news about haz on holiday im thinking I could sell Haz/Henderson
So
A) Sell Sterling/Fab
B) Sell Haz/Henderson
C) Do neither and cryHaz is going to play. Do your original plan
Thanks guys. will stick with A.
Is there any news I should wait on before doing this since I have to do this today and cant wait for the official press conferences?
A, follow your plan original plan!
Ospina Schmeichel
Terry Skrtel Toby Huth PvA
Hazard Fab Sterling Hendo Cambiasso
Aguero Giroud Kane
2FT 0.8 itb
Got the exact money for Skrtel & Sterling > McShane & Sanchez. Worth doing? Anything better?
Would then probably do Hendo/Fab to a Sunderland mid next week.yes, its good
o/ below was for you
o/
Aguero only 53% on the captain poll 😯
Wow...
a) I guess I'm not the only one who doesn't own him.
b) I do wonder if some folks fib in the captain's poll for various reasons.benteke and sanchez say hi
Tbf, what's he ever done against QPR
Only 13 points.
Yeah, was just being sarcastic. And referring to arguably the greatest moment in PL history
Bolasie is in the cap poll? and has 13 votes
9 years, 24 days ago
There are seven Premier League press conferences today. Roberto Martinez at Everton is first up at 9am, then the rest of the day runs like this...
1230 - MAURICIO POCHETTINO, TOTTENHAM
1300 - TIM SHERWOOD, ASTON VILLA
1300 - JOHN CARVER, NEWCASTLE
1315 - SEAN DYCHE, BURNLEY
1400 - RONALD KOEMAN, SOUTHAMPTON
1430 - NIGEL PEARSON, LEICESTER CITY
