Euro 2016

Big Numbers – Last Four Matches- Part One

Euro 2016 is now just one day away after Portugal’s 7-0 win over Estonia brought an end to the recent batch of friendlies last night. In the first in a series of two members articles, we focus on some of the most pertinent statistics over each sides’ last four friendlies this calendar year. We begin with a look at the standout performers in defence and also assess a trio of midfielders, with a further three players in the centre of the park set to feature in tomorrow’s follow-up piece.

Are only Muller and Ozil 100% nailed Germany attackers?

How likely are the others - Draxler, Gotze, Gomes?

      IMO:

      Kroos/Khediera
      Gotze/Ozil/Draxler
      Muller

      ...is the front 5

    RMT

    Randolph
    Howleds - Sapunaru - Walker
    KDB - Draxler - Payet - Perisic
    Giroud - Lewandowski - Muller

    Rui Patricio - Dragovic - Lindelof - R.Sanches

Walker not nailed on - who to replace?

Dragovic or Klein? Brief reading suggests Klein the more likely to get assists etc. Same price...

This information from from an accredited source within the Polish camp.

Kamil Grosicki has made good progress with his ankle, and it is much better. Our winger ran on the race track already today. It is unlikely, in spite of this, that he will play against Northern Ireland. Grosicki, who picked up the injury in the friendly match with Lithuania, has not yet trained with the team still, and that situation will not change before the match on Sunday. The assistant states that there is still pain in the leg, but that most important development, that he has begun to run slowly, does not yet mean, that he is ready for match coaching. Full sprints are still off limits, turns and twists are still too risky, and it is also still too soon for normal match movements and contacts.

One of the Polish chaps has now OK'd this. 🙂

Now, I understand there are a million people constantly putting RMTs on this website. And I understand that they are all pretty similar and tedious to review.

So why should you rate my team, and make suggestions on how you might improve it, over all the other RMTs which you daily, hourly, minutely, secondly, fraction-of-a-secondly ignore?

Well, under normal circumstances you probably shouldn't.

But maybe I'm a lonely millionaire willing to bestow money and everlasting friendship for just a moment of kindness.

I might not be. I might be just some bored nobody writing an elaborate and over-long comment for tips on a pointless game.

But are willing to take that risk?

    RMT?

    Sommer Patricio

    Theoretical situation:

You have Milik but he blanks against Northern Ireland. You also have Nolito and Spain play the first game on the next day, against the Czech Republic. Is it possible that we know Spain's lineup before the deadline that day, so we are able to assess whether it's worth it to replace Milik's 2 points with either a starting or non-starting Nolito?

    1. Meinhoff
      • 11 Years
      8 years, 3 days ago

I think we will always know the lineups before the first game of the day, since the deadlines are all at the start of the first game, so yes.

Yes. You should always know the lineups of the teams in the first game on each day. That's why I may stay away from guerriero, no certainty if I bring him in and may cost me 2 pts

Im finding it hard to call, in a 433 with Payet, Pogs, Matuidi, Giroud, griezmann, kante, Martial, Diarra,,,, im presuming either Kante or Diarra have to play otherwise its just too attacking. What do you think? blimey this is worthy of its own post!

Defence is a bit weak, I'd downgrade one of Payet and Matuidi and get a second keeper and upgrade a def

You will play 11 in the end anyway, having only one 4.0 is not a disaster

    Here is my team:

    Kozacik, Rui Patricio
    Glik, Strinic, Juanfran, Denayer, Giaccherini
    Alaba, Fabregas, Gotze, Pogba, Hamsik
    Kane, Muller, Giroud

My problem is that I have my last 3 defenders playing on the same day. I guess the easiest way is to change Juanfran (5.5). Thus I would also may be able to upgrade Strinic. Can you recommend a good solution?

Germany have 4 attacking spots and Schürrle seems to be number 6, so Hakan.

Ah but he generally gets minutes every tournament..

and when he gets minutes, he scores for the NT..

        Good point though.
