FFS Cup

FFS Cups – Results and Fifth Round Draws

Our two Premier League cup competitions have reached the last 32 stage – time to take a look at the some of the key Round Five encounters.

Our open-to-all cup’s only former winner, Mark, marches on, after seeing off What Divock?! to set up an encounter with 22,229th-ranked hishamkmr. With a 468 rank, Mark looks the favourite to proceed into the sixth round.

Another manager to draw the short straw and face a top 500 manager is the 21,317-placed Not Much Klopp, who takes on 339-ranked NUFC Fifer -the contest’s highest remaining manager.

Among the other eye-catching ties is the contest between Bake Baines on toast and My Pretty Pony (aka Peter Kouewenberg), who along with Mark is another representative of our live Hall of Fame Top Ten.

Peter’s 817 rank puts him in the driving seat for this encounter, given his opponent is 89,964 places below him.

The full Fifth Round draw can be found here.

At 88th in the world Pukka is the highest-placed remaining competitor in the Members Cup and takes on the 57,394th-ranked rogerbarton in the last 32.

Hana, who is 106 in the world, defeated Fenghh, the conqueror of former winner Trigg in Round Two, and next takes on Choppers13, who is another highly-placed manager, with a rank of 1,242.

Elsewhere, Round Four’s community writers derby saw Kryten emerge victorious over TopMarx. His reward is a match-up with Tramp, who at 70,119 is 53,496 places behind him.

De Ennet, who is 15,780 in the rankings, beat RoysCallerAnne and takes on another community regular in the next round, the 56,691-placed Rossendale Rover.

The full Fifth Round draw can be found here.

There is £350 in Amazon.com or Amazon.co.uk vouchers up for grabs for the final top three managers in both tournaments.

Good luck to all those involved and if you would like more information on the schedule and prizes, click this link.

    THREE AT THE BACK?

Wenger is asked whether he will stick with the same formation he used against Middlesbrough for Manchester City....

"It is an option yes. What will I do? I won’t tell you now."

In West Ham having him on his books. Better to have a striker who stays fit and plays every game then someone who is fit in only 1 out of 3 games.

    Best Mustafi replacement?

Bailly is the most obvious choice but PVA could be an interesting punt

    Sky Fantasy Football

    Average remaining transfers:

    Top 10 - 3.00
    Top 100 - 2.86
    Top 1,000 - 3.03
    Top 5,000 - 2.98

So nearly 3 transfers all round!

How do you plan to use your remaining swaps?

Dan has confirmed that it's his wife that has a team and is doing incredibly well, has more transfers left that Dan's team too. Believe it or not women are capable of playing fantasy football too..

I'm not debating that women can play FF just as well as men, I'd say the same if it was Dan and his husband. But its extremely naive for you to think that both teams are not being managed by known fantasy football cash games veteran Dan

      I've got five left 🙂

But am in 2.5K in the rankings.

Looking at using them only for major injuries and captaincies.

I'm without a Man City or Man Utd player currently so may look to one of them.

Same for me without City and Utd. I'm looking at Sane and Ibra most likely but 'tis the season for punting so considering going rogue with Herrera and using the spare cash on a random DGWer down the line. Who are you looking at?

    3. Lewis - Sky Pod

Haven't decreased I hoped/thought they would. Only hope is that those hoarding transfers still have work to do to get to the 'optimal' team.
Imagine most will be bringing Kane in this gameweek

      1. Lewis - Sky Pod
        • 13 Years

And then maybe looking at Hazard & Ibra etc.
20+ captaincy days to come, a lot can change up at the top.

Yeah, it's this amount of captaincy days left that gives us all hope....lots of opportunities to make up ground for everyone!

      Thanks Luke, appreciate this.

So, the top 10 has 30 transfers between them...

I won't say how many I've got left (not many!) but I have tentatively planned my remaining moves out. Obviously this plan is subject to change with injuries, form, etc.

I wonder how many Mr and Mrs Cox (numbers 1 and 2) have left?

Cheers Luke. I've got 6 to go and I'm just outside top 1k. Planning on bringing in Kane, Hazard and a Saints mid during next GW, and possibly doing a hokey-cokey with Sanchez & Ibra to optimise captaincy options

I'm looking at the same move potentially, if Utd get knocked out tonight it would become a lot easier to pull the trigger on ditching Lukaku.

      7 years, 1 month ago

Thanks Luke. 5 transfers left for me, would love to crack the top 10 this year.

I'm currently without City and Utd but have plans for 1 from each. My punt on Walcott a while back looks in trouble now after his media comments got him benched...tough to sell him with so many games coming up for Arsenal, though.

Seeing Jesus on the City bench at the weekend or next Thursday would make life very interesting!

I'm currently sitting in 14th, but with 6 transfers left I'm still harbouring hopes of winning that signed Charlie Nicholas shirt!

Seriously though, I'll be bringing Kane into my side this week, and I'm even considering a few gambles to exploit the best of the 2 vs 0s and 3 vs 1s coming up between now and the end of the season. Good luck all!

34th with 1 transfer left. I should win my cash mini-league, which was the only goal this season. I never thought I'd be so high OR as it's only my second season and first one when I'm playing Sky FF properly. Remaining transfer is gonna be Kaku/Kun to Kane/Hazard.

You just know that if you use it, Alonso is going to score while De Roon gets injured in the first game. Sod's law. 😉

I'd still do it though. More fun at least. If Alonso gets a clean sheet, that's not too many points than De Roon's probable 4.

Agree on needing players from those teams, but they should be players that actually play. Theo benched last game.

    A) BENCH BOOST
    B) ALL OUT ATTACK
    C) TRIPLE CAPTAIN

Out of the last 5 GWs what is the best time to use these?

    I think:
    GW34- A
    GW36- C (arsenal player)
    GW37- B

    Thoughts???

      I'm undecided between C OR B IN GW 37, see above 🙂

Can't make up my mind whether to make any transfers. I'm worried about big points from Negrado and Ibra . Current rank 43k and running out of time to push for top 10k.

    Heaton

    FRIEND, KELLY, Vertonghen

    Sanchez, ZAHA, Alli, Coutinho

    BENTEKE, Aguero, Lukaku

    Heaton, Fraser, Baines, Pieters

    A) Keep as is
    B) Lukaku --> Negrado
    C) Baines & Lukaku --> Chambers and Ibra -4
    D) Any other suggestions, £0.3 in the bank

As a Boro fan, I'm not optimistic about "big points from Negredo".

Against those defenders though and you've been looking a bit more attacking recently surly there's got to be a few goals for you and where else are they coming from apart from him?

      In the same boat.

Would have to sell Sanchez or Lukaku to bring him in which I'm loathed to do as I don't have a wildcard left.

It would be a purely defensive move as most of the mini league I'm in have Ibra.

Douglas Costa to Spurs would be an absolute worldie of a signing. Amazing FPL prospect too - he was phenomenal last season, dont know whats happened under Carlo.
