It’s now time for our weekly Sky Sports Focus article, where we look back at last weekend’s action, before preparing you for the incoming Gameweek.
We’ll examine the recent run of Man of the Match (MoTM) awards, the bonus point beneficiaries, transfer trends and Watchlist, before moving on to the Scout team and our future plans.
Gameweek 10 Man of the Match Awards
These were the players who caught the eye of the Sky Sports reporters and earned an extra five points as a result.
Fixture | MoTM |
Liverpool vs Man United | Joe Gomez |
Man City vs Stoke | Kevin De Bruyne |
Burnley vs West Ham | Steven Defour |
Spurs vs Bournemouth | Asmir Begovic |
Swansea vs Huddersfield | Tammy Abraham |
Crystal Palace vs Chelsea | Wilfried Zaha |
Watford vs Arsenal | Tom Cleverley |
Brighton vs Everton | Anthony Knockaert |
Southampton vs Newcastle | Manolo Gabbiadini |
Leicester vs West Brom | Marc Albrighton |
Kevin De Bruyne picked up his third award of the season and second in as many matches. The Belgian is in the form of his life right now and, despite playing in a deeper role, could still be worth the outlay at 11.5m.
The budget-friendly Tammy Abraham (8.6m) earned his second award and continues to look great value in Swansea City’s home matches.
Sky Sports favourite Wilfried Zaha returned from his early-season injury to lead the line for Crystal Palace against Chelsea and promptly delivered a goal and MoTM award. At 9.3m, he once again looks a tempting option ahead of an extended run of favourable fixtures for Palace, particularly if he remains in the central striker role.
Gameweek 10 Bonus Points
Let’s take a look at any player to earn 11 points or more in bonus for the season
Four Man City players make the top six positions, with Fernandinho now the game’s overall bonus leader.

Notes
And so concludes possibly my worst ever Gameweek in Sky Sports.
Only Harry Kane netted more than two points after obtaining shots on target bonus. That was made all the more painful by Eden Hazard, Philippe Coutinho and Mohamed Salah all scoring a hatful of points in Europe midweek.
Last week I said It was a risk going without Man City players and ultimately that’s what punished me. I’m now scratching my head and wondering how I can fit one of them in.
David Silva or Raheem Sterling are my preferred options due to their cheaper price points in comparison to De Bruyne and the City forwards. But I don’t want to lose any of my aforementioned midfielders or either of the highest-owned players in the game, in Kane and Romelu Lukaku.
That leaves me with Jamie Vardy, who only just came in on Monday and is required for captain cover over the next few weeks. For now, then, I’m going to have to rely on Burnley to stifle the City attack. Terrifying.
Captain Plan
Fri 20th – Suttner (whm)
Sat 21st – Lukaku (hud)
Sun 22nd – Kane (LIV)
