Double Gameweek 34 Announced for Hull and Liverpool

Hull have this morning confirmed a new date for their home clash against Liverpool, which was previously scheduled for Gameweek 33. The match, which was postponed after the Reds clinched a place in the FA Cup semi-finals last night, will now take place on Tuesday April 28 – meaning both sides will now have a double Gameweek 34.

With Chelsea and Leicester also poised for a double in the same week, Fantasy managers are handed four teams to choose from as they re-assemble their squads.

Liverpool also face a trip to the Hawthorns prior to their KC encounter, though QPR’s hammering of West Brom last weekend suggests few will be deterred from investing in Brendan Rodgers’ main men.

Doubts over Diego Costa’s hamstring injury may have some eyeing up Daniel Sturridge, though the Reds striker has done little to strengthen his case for inclusion – two goals in the last eight Gameweeks, in addition to ongoing hip problems, are hardly convincing. Jordan Henderson has struck four times in the last five league matches and will surely be sought after by many, whilst Philippe Coutinho and Raheem Sterling are also in contention here.

At the back, Martin Skrtel will return from suspension in time for the double, boosting the prospects of a defence that has racked up seven clean sheets in the last 11 Gameweeks.

The Reds then have two very favourable home clashes in three (against QPR and Palace) directly after their double, with a visit to Chelsea sandwiched in between those Anfield encounters.

It’s fair to say that Hull will struggle to justify the investment, though. Granted, Steve Bruce’s side now have four home matches in the final five Gameweeks of the season but one look at the fixtures (cpl & LIV, ARS, BUR, tot, MUN) underlines the tough task at hand – only the visit of Burnley in Gameweek 36 looks promising. Given that they’ve picked up two points in the last five, the Tigers face a tough task ahead, though their spirited display in the 3-2 home defeat by Chelsea in Gameweek 30 suggests it would be unwise to write their main men off completely.

      why?

I will have 3 Chelsea this GW and then 2 FTs by GW34 to bring in 3 LIV players...

6 DGW players for -4 and Liverpool plays QPR at home the next week...

I thought so... because there are plenty of reasons to be very relaxed about the whole situation, unless you plan to bring in LEI or HUL players to get 7-8 doublers

Who is the best Austin replacement? apart from Remy seeing as Costa could be back for the double.

    Murray? Gomis? Or keep Austin?

I wish Costa was out for a little longer grrr :/

After falling from 4k to 11k, I could probably do with some advice.

    Foster - Myhill
    Kos - Bertrand - Cresswell - O'Shea - Dawson
    Hazard - Mata - Silva - Eriksen - Moses
    Aguero - Kane - Sakho

2 FTs, 2.9m in the bank.

Kos - too expensive, has a blank after this week
Cresswell - taking up too much money too but has STK this week at least
Eriksen - hasn't been performing (2 assists in last 8) but still has decent fixtures
Aguero - not worth his value at all right now, not sure what to do
Sakho - not great either but like Cresswell he has STK this week

I've gone from 4k to 12 in 5 GW mainly due to poor capt choices , but not panicked. It's a good team. You need Arsenal attack in there though IMO, but with their blank and then Chelsea I'd leave until GW 35

You could even get rid of Mata because Eriksen has kinder fixtures

For those WCing in GW34, Lukaku at home to Burnley in GW33 looks a fantastic one week punt providing he's back fit in time.

Except that Burnley are fighting for their lives and will try to be as solid as possible

(just got a CS against Spurs)

Hah, I've been burnt by him too. But then I remember his hat trick for West Brom on the last day that got me a top 2k finish and all is forgiven!

That was at Turf Moor though. They could tighten up away too, but I'd bet on them shipping a couple to Everton.

Austin and Aguero out for Giroud and Remy (4 point hit) ... worth it?

Would be able to just bench Giroud next week

I was a bit confused for a while, so decided to wrap it all up:

    GW33:
blank - Liverpool, Hull, Arsenal, Aston Villa, QPR, Sunderland

    GW34:
double - Liverpool, Hull, Chelsea, Leicester

    GW37:
    double - Arsenal, Sunderland
