FFS Cup

The FFS Cup – Sponsored by FanDuel – Fourth Round Draw

This evening we reveal who has made it through to the fourth round of our open to all Fantasy Premier League cup competition.

For this latest contest there are more than £1,000 worth of prizes for UK based entrants courtesy of our partner FanDuel, as well as £350 in Amazon vouchers to the top three managers at the end of the competition.

In addition, the highest scoring manager each round will win a £30 FanDuel credit, with the four next highest scores earning a £10 credit.

The third round saw all three of our remaining champions depart, which means there will be a new name on the trophy at the end of the competition.

Last year’s winner I Casillas Winning was beaten by Allezlechef 71 to 55, Gribude lost to Cok3y5murf and MCH failed to get the better of community regular Rhinos.

The highest scoring managers of the round and recipients of a £30 FanDuel credit are Bacuna Matata and Pinky Unites, who both brought in a haul of 104 points.

Those who win a £10 FanDuel credit for stellar Gameweek scores are: NUFC Fifer and Raul Seleccion, who accrued 102 points; Δημητρης Καραμπουρνιωτης, who earned 98 points; and TeaM McNaCe and BC1, who both notched 97 in Gameweek 14.

Of these Gameweek 14 titans, Bacuna Matata is the highest ranked manager left in the competition. His impressive tally takes him up to 111 in the rankings and a round four clash with fplbet.

Raul Selecion is just behind, in 112th place, and takes on Fat B*d in the next stage of the tournament.

The community regular who has drawn the short straw to face another form manager, Pinky Unites, in round four is Tommy J.

The Scoutcast’s last representative, Andy85wsm, bows out with his score of 73 proving no match for Anuliz’s 94 points.

Two other members of the Fantasy Football Scout moderator and contributor team, GreenWindmill and Stilicho, also leave, after being beaten by Archie and lowlifegimpe respectively.

That leaves TorresMagic to fly the FFScout flag alone. He beat Isaaclun in round three and next takes on Zambhino10, who is ranked more than 100,000 places behind him, in this weekend’s tie.

Another encounter to keep an eye on is a dangerous looking Chelsea themed derby between Hazardous Blue and Hazardous to repeat.

The third round results can be found via this link, while the full fourth round draw can be found here.

Good luck to those still involved and if you would like more information on the schedule and prizes click this link.

    Hi DZ

    Heaton Pickford
    Kos Lovren Amat Pieters Holebas
    Haz Firmino Siggy Wally Fletch
    Kane Costa Austin

Have 3.4m in the bank which dosen't feel right. What would you do with it? Anything this week for a hit?

downgrade koz and upgrade wally to sanchez

Kos is/was my placeholder for Alonso, that was gonna be my transfer next week. Not sure I can take a hit to take out Kos when he has Stoke at home 🙁

0.4 short of Wally > Sanchez for -4

Well of course if Sanchez hauls again it will be soul destroying. But if I take a minus 8 he has to do very well to pay it back this week. Stoke haven't conceded in three games....

I hope you're right mate. Sanchez is killing me right now but I think I'm still going to hold off getting him in until GW18.

          Hazard captain this week?

honestly tempted to get KDB in for Walcott for next two for a hit and captain him. Otherwise it'll be Hazard or Costa

With Aguero being out, the time for taking transfer points hits is over. Most teams are now set with:

    Alonso
Hazard - Sanchez - Liverpool mid
    Kane - Costa

The captain choices are in place, so transfers now need to be moving in and out the fixtures and form budget players without taking -4's.

Is this a calculated hit worth taking. My 2 keepers are:
    Foster & Jaku

I'm thinking of bringing in Hennessey @ Palace for Jaku.
Palace have Hull this week & I can see a cs for Palace which means the hit should pay off.

    Thoughts & thanks.

Foster could have a few save points and Hull could score. Suppose it could be worth it to have two playing keepers.

Bringing in a Palace keeper/defender for a hit sounds like an awful idea, if you ask me. Even if you somehow evened out this week due to a clean sheet, you're then stuck with a Palace keeper and have lost a free transfer for next week (which is worth the four points).

If this is the FFS template squad, how many do you have put of 15?

    Heaton
    Cedric - McAuley - Alonso
    Sanchez - Hazard - Firmino - Siggy
    Costa - Kane - Austin

    Pickford, De Roon, Pieters, Amat

    11/15 here.
    Koscielney instead of McAuley
    Phillips instead of Firmino
    Clayton instead of De Roon
    Nyom instead of Peters

Are you saying the back three should read Alonso - Alonso Alonso? 😀

          • 7 Years

No, that it could read Alonso and any two others. Why is McAuley even there with his upcoming fixtures?

            • 9 Years
            7 years, 6 months ago

Because I'm not sure everyone has shifted their West Brom defender yet and I doubted many could afford a second premium defender to go with the starting front seven. Therefore, I thought the most likely sub-$5m option was probably going to be McAuley.

Austin isn't template. Using Austin's funds for Walker/Rose instead is debatable.

Well, I think I made a pretty good stab at the template based on the responses here. Yes, Austin isn't super template but he is the most common name I have seen in that third forward slot.

You could've just mentioned the front big 6 and Alonso. Austin isn't template either, so he doesn't matter.

Nigeria didn't qualify for AFCON so NACHO won't be going anywhere to my knowledge. Nyom is only 4.3m so could put him as last sub or transfer out when he leaves in January. No issues, really.

Yes, Nyom I meant, I have him too and think he's great value. Not a big issue I suppose mate, but will probably be getting rid of him next week (as have Evans also).

Interesting - assuming you got your Evans goal last week, I'd sell him. How likely is he to score another header in the next 10+ weeks? Maybe 1 more max. Nyom is cheaper and probably has at least 5-6 league fixtures before AFCON duty.

              1. A template makes it difficult to differentiate, but a template also presents an opportunity to differentiate too.
              2. An FFS template is not an FPL template (though I accept the gap has probably narrowed this season).
              3. A fair few ahead of me will have burned their chips.
              4. Not many will have my TV to play with.

Prefer Alonso and Fer, out of those. I don't see Swansea scoring many goals (Sunderland has tightened up a bit, then it's at West Brom and at Middlesbrough, then it's two good home matches, admittedly), so I'm just not as sold on the Siggy option. So the option that allows the better defender is the one I'd do.

not a big fan of 352. recipe for points on the bench. inevitably you will witch back with will take 2 transfers. Although, that midfield is awesome.

Consider the conventional 3 4 3 and get Carrol and Siggy instead of Payet and Anichebe

Just think those West Ham fixtures are too good to ignore, regardless of their form. Payet is the man to have, but Carroll could be an option like you say.

if Austin blanks again and Carroll starts this week. Barring the unforeseen, Austin>Carroll is my FT next week

Iheanacho may run past Morgan/Huth a few times this weekend and give you food for thought on that statue Andy Carroll though... 😉

6.1 is great value for Carroll but West Ham haven't exactly done well at home nor have they been lighting up the "easier" teams - 1 goal scored in each game against Boro, Watford, Stoke, Crystal Palace, and Sunderland doesn't inspire confidence.

Carrol at 6.1 is such good value. I am serious considering Defoe to Carrol for GW16. You are talking worst fixtures versus best. Then again Defoe had been fairly bullet proof fixture wise. but worried the inevitable injury will come followed by self loathing and -4 or -8 to fix it 🙂

can't touch Carroll after I tripled captained his 3 point DGW last year!

The voice of reason. I had him in from GW1 too. Why am I even considering this. As a Kane enabler I might just do it though.

I find it amazing that Wenger won't even rest Sanchez for a dead rubber CL game

He did come off around 70 I think. Arsenal topped the group, so the match wasn't entirely meaningless. Last time they went undefeated in CL group play they made the CL final...

How dead was it? Don't think he trusts the team without Sanchez.

wasn't a dead rubber. they needed to better PSG result to finish top and psg's draw means the decision was right

Siggy or Alonso more important to get in? My team,

    Foster (Pickford)
    Cedric Walk Evans (Holebas Amat)
Haz Sanchez Firm Allen (de Roon)
    Kane Costa Austin

    2.5 ITB

    A) Allen > Siggy
    B) Evans/Holebas > Alonso

He could be a good differential, but I'm not sure this week is shaping up to be a great week to pick a differential captain.

Is it worth to dot sterling, benteke & Mandanda to Hazard, Austin & Heaton for a 4 point hit.

Rest of my team is as below:

    Grant
    Amat, Stones, Holebas, Darmian, Alonso
    Wally, Firmino, Allen, Capoue
    Kane, Ibra

    Thaks!!!
