The FFS Cup – Sponsored by FanDuel – Fifth Round Draw

With a break in our open to all Fantasy Premier League cup competition during the midweek fixtures, we spend some time this evening to see who has made it through to fifth round, which takes place during Gameweek 17 this coming weekend.

A reminder that, for this latest contest, there are more than £1,000 worth of prizes for UK based entrants courtesy of our partner FanDuel, as well as £350 in Amazon vouchers to the top three managers at the end of the competition.

In addition the highest scoring manager each round wins a £30 FanDuel credit, with community regular Moin earning this prize after his 65 point Gameweek 15 haul. He next faces msq22 in round five.

The next four highest scoring managers in round four win a £10 FanDuel credit. These will be handed out to Pinky Unites, who scored 63, DJDave1979, who scored 61 along with twobitgooner, and BC1, Bashvilla, Hagop, who all hit the 60 point mark.

The highest placed manager left in the competition is 216 ranked Bacuna Matata, who along with Pink Unites, won a £30 FanDuel voucher for the top highest score back in the third round.

The unfortunate manager to face this early frontrunner to win the competition is lowlifegimpe, who is ranked 337,555.

In a closely fought contest, our only remaining Fantasy Football Scout staff representative, TorresMagic, has made it through to round five, after squeezing past Zambhino10 by just a single point.

The moderator has another tough encounter in store when he takes on Smooth Rossi, who at 6,687 in the overall rankings is more than 7,000 places above him.

Other eye catching ties taking place in round five include Funkyav’s clash with Big Phil Soccer Team and Cobberlsnz taking on Bash Villa, who incidentally sent me packing back in the first round.

The fourth round results can be found via this link, while the full fifth round draw can be found here.

Good luck to those still involved and if you would like more information on the schedule and prizes click this link.

47% Captains poll for Kane, problem with Hull is that they just sit there and defend! Costa for me.

*sit there and defend badly, then concede. 😉

Hull have shipped a Premier League record 32 goals this season.

Hull are no WBA. They can try, but they have proven themselves incapable of defending this season.

You might have a point here, Wiz. Although Hull haven't proved very good at defending. 5-1 v Liverpool; 6-1 v Bournemouth; 3-3 v Palace. If anyone can crush them it'll be the super chutzSpurs

Yes, Moyes will be playing Kevin Keegan style kamikaze football with the likes of Pienaar, Anichebe, Rodwell and Cattermole pouring forward en masse at every opportunity. Chelsea need only cannily pick them off.

    And who to go for:

    C) Hold Firm

    Foster / Pickford

    Looking at doing;

Firmino to Antonio & Collins to Jones

Thoughts? I have De Gea already but allows me to downgrade him during January WC and take advantage of possible Phil Jones price rises. Do we think he's nailed on? When is Bailly back?

Jones has been solid. He rested last midweek so he should be fresh enough to start the next 3 games. For tomorrow I think it will be:

          Darmian - Jones - Bailly - Blind

          Weekend:
          Valencia - Jones - Bailly/Rojo - Darmian

No but Rojo is due a rest so I'm guessing Bailly will play tomorrow. Bailly is a better fit too vs Benteke.

I think Jose would prefer Bailly over Rojo over Christmas because Bailly will be leaving in January.

You don't understand Mourinho. Bailly going to AFCON makes Mourinho less likely to put him in, not more. He doesn't like disrupting a settled defence, especially the CBs.

The only question is Jones' fitness to play so many games but he's only 24. So, Jones and Rojo should keep the shirts for now unless fitness issues or loss of form intervene. GW19&20 are 2 days apart for United. There might be a need for fresh legs then.

Is there any guarantee that Andy Carroll will start the midweek against Burnley home?

I'd say no guarantees at all given he's only just back from injury. 2 sub appearances so he might get a start midweek.

Carroll looked ridiculously unfit against Liverpool, (Even by his standards), the thing that stood out for me was a counter from a corner in the 85th minute and literally no attempt to get up the pitch despite us having the ball in their half for a good while.

Unless he was told to stay back, which I actually highly doubt as he'd be useless defending against Liverpool accept from corners.

          True!
Lack of match fitness, but West Ham will have more ballposession against Burnley and Hull. I´ll try M.Antonio (6.7) for the next matches. As I can see, he´s central with Payet in all of their attacks.

He really is and actually translates it into fantasy returns, I'll be interested to see how Carroll impacts it though.

The only thing is you don't know where he'll play!

    Foster - Heaton
    Vertonghan - McAuley - Evans - Kone - Amat
    Sanchez - Hazard - Firmino - Allen - Capoue
    Kane - Costa - Defoe

    1 x FT, 0.3m ITB

    1. Make a transfer, if so who to who?
    2. Save FT

    Many thanks 😛

Yup, need some rebuilding there. Trying to think where you can possibly get the funds from. I personally did do Firmino to Eriksen because of the next 2 fixtures for Spurs, consider the same?

Oops sorry no. I'd swap him for Eriksen. I'd've done the same but I had nacho to deal with this week. I'm selling Firmino next.

    cech
    Coleman - Amat - Holebas
Sanchez - Hazard- Sigurdsson - Mane - Eriksen
    Costa - Nacho

gtg? Weak defence but there's barely and clean sheets anyway. Midfield makes up for it.

Play: Defoe (CHE) or Wilson (LEI) ?

Defoe gets a full 90 min but he's facing a tough CHE defense, on the other hand Wilson's facing a side which he can score against but his minutes worry me, Who would you go for 🙂 ?
