The FFS Cup – Sponsored by FanDuel – Sixth Round Draw

This evening we reveal who has made it through to Gameweek 18’s sixth round fixtures of our open to all Fantasy Premier League cup competition.

For this contest there are more than £1,000 worth of prizes for UK based entrants courtesy of our partner FanDuel, as well as £350 in Amazon vouchers to the top three managers at the end of the competition.

In addition, the highest scoring manager each round will win a £30 FanDuel credit, with Big Phil Soccer Team winning that accolade after defeating Funkyav 74 to 51.

He squares up to the FFScout moderator and contributor crew’s last remaining representative, TorresMagic, in what looks like being one of the last 32’s toughest clashes. Just under 10,000 places in the overall rankings separates this pair.

The next highest scoring managers in round five, Tutankhamun, Real Sociopath, Moin, DillyDingDillyDongFC and A Manager Has No Name all win a £10 FanDuel credit.

Among this group DillyDingDillyDongFC will be a favourite to progress, as his rank of 7,316 makes him the highest placed manager left in the competition.

He faces one of the competition’s lowest ranked managers, Space Cadete, who is positioned at 1,033,108 in the overall standings.

Other eye catching community regular ties in round six include Bashvilla’s match with Pinky Unites and The Shoe Makers fixture against Back on the Horse.

The fifth round results can be found via this link, while the full sixth round draw can be found here.

Good luck to those still involved and if you would like more information on the schedule and prizes click this link.

Two choices this week, I guess:

    1) Kane -> Ibra and play Amat
    2) Costa -> Ibra and don't.

      A few suggestions below:

      1) firm+carroll -> lala + tekkers
      2) firm+lovren -> lala + azpi/rose
      3) lovren -> valencia

My favourite is 3, allows u to save 1 FT which will be useful for upcoming fixtures

C was the best option if -4 was not involved..not worth getting negative for a defo.

I would go with A, Only bcoz of McAuley's goal threat.

Your point is valid, but out of the given choices A is more urgent for upcoming GW. Holding onto Payet against Swans defence may not be a bad choice after all. Atleast not worth taking a points hit. U can always do Payet to Lallana or Wally next GW.

Why is Tony Valencia so low in the bps? Darmian bossed him with 34 last game whereas he got just 23 without a booking. Even Rojo who commits a foul a minute has been lording him bps wise.

Going without Ibra. "Form" be damned. Way too high conversion rate. Goals have mostly been handballs, offside or turbo deflections

        1. Christina.
          • 14 Years
          7 years, 6 months ago

He's current conv rate is just making up for the crazy stats he had early in season. Overall conv rates:

          Costa 26%
          Alexis 25%
          Kun 16%
          Ibra 15%

            Those figures don't lie.

            1. Christina.

              7 years, 6 months ago

I know, that's my point. He's conv rate was crazy low iro his amount of shots early on in the season. Not to say he's going to stop scoring now. Over the season he's the lowest of the lot.

If based on the last 4 weeks then we should also be worried about Alexis who has 40% conv rate and Lalana who has 60% conv rate.

Then we're on the same page 🙂 Still scared sh$tless of going without. Not worth a hit for me. Probably gonna do a gods hand move and get away with it.
Hazard (c) false 9 for a green arrow regardless of what Ibra does.

Also the problem that I already have some transfers for upcoming gameweeks and I won't have a FT to do this move for a few gameweeks so why not just do it now and enjoy the clean sheets hopefully.

WBA he'll get rested for that.
Then Everton away next not going to be easy.
Add to that 2 extra EFL Cup fixtures in January he will surely get rotated for a few games in Jan too.
Chances of Fonte being sold in the January window too.
There's too much uncertainty whereas Valencia is as nailed as it gets in Mourinho team who prefers keep clean sheets.
Seeing it as a long term move.

Most of what you're thinking is guess work though. Speculation and rest predictions.

I'd find another way to get Jones in if possible. Saints defence is very sound and Cedric is now back into the team. I am actually looking to jump on him, let alone get rid of him for a hit.

          1. Karan14
            • 8 Years
            7 years, 6 months ago

Not worth it imo. Puel loves rotating his team we have seen that. If you want a Soton defender I'd go for VVD or no one. I actually made a mistake of not getting him at 5.4 now he's too expensive for me.
Not going to make the mistake for Jones cheaper but not nailed 100%.
United are in the market for a new CB.

With all the talk of Xmas rotation, I've been looking at some of the trends from last year.

Gameweek 17 took place much closer to Xmas (20th-22nd) but the scheduling of Gameweeks 18-20 were almost identical to this year, taking place over 10 days from 26th Dec.

There were an average of 2.85 changes made to starting line-ups from GW 18 to GW 19, and 2.2 from GW 19 to 20.
This compares to an average of 1.8 changes made to starting line-ups last week.

Goalkeepers were largely immune from rotation, with only Newcastle switching Elliot for Darlow then back again.
Swansea made the most changes, 15 in total, 8 changes from GW 18 to GW 19 and another 7 from GW 19 to 20. Perhaps not even Bob Bradley can top that.
Stoke under Mark Hughes were the only team to keep the same starting 11 for all 3 matches.
Man City made just one change, bringing Aguero in for Bony in GW 19.

Some notable players who were rested for the middle fixture, in spite of being fit enough for the bench (and returning to the starting line-up in GW 20) - Koscielny, Baines, Phil Jones, Sigurdsson, Walker, Eriksen and Holebas.

Diego Costa was suspended for GW 19 after picking up his 5th booking of the season in GW 18. (*Coughs*)

If you own players who have a ready-made replacement waiting in the wings (such as Smalling, Martina, Pedro, Can, Sturridge, Trippier), it's possible/probable your man will miss some game time, particularly in GW 19, owing to the quick turnaround.

TLDR - Rotation will be up a little compared to a normal gameweek, but there's not a great deal you can do to mitigate unless you have the luxury of investing in a slightly stronger bench. The rested players will be back again the following gameweek so you just have to ride it out.

I was a bit surprised to see Walcott started all 3 games at the same time last year. Very little rotation from Wenger.
From GW 18 to 19 , out went Monreal, Koscielny, Flamini and Campbell for Gibbs, Gabriel, Chambers and Oxlade-Chamberlain.
Then back came Monreal, Koscielny and Flamini for GW 20.

Origi would be one I would be most concerned about for GW 19 from that group, only because of Sturridge's cameo on Monday. But it's a huge IF that he's fit to start and Origi might still play with Sturridge or as part of the 3 behind him anyway.

I went to put it on before the show started but with the hat and over the head headphones (couldn't find my earbuds) it was all a little too much! 🙂

I'm 130 points behind ML leader and he's played all his chips but I'm not sure I can catch him. Don't know whether to use my wildcard after xmas to improve my team or wait until the DGW's thoughts please

Hold. You'll have to get him with good use of the WC around the dgws and your triple captain. Still doable

Last season towards the end, a WC plus bench boost and TC meant 100 pt leads were largely insignificant. Wait

Wait until DGWs. You can still beat him by a comfortable margin.

With those Arsenal fixtures I reckon Walcott is worth the possible rotation risk.

Yep.I got him last week.Don't think he will be rotated.Arsenal need to start winning games again.

Game on 1st and 3rd of Jan. Rotation will be massive, and Wenger got wingers

Yeah, that's a pity. Nice fixtures. Might take the risk and swap Hazard for him.

Why would he be rotated when he has scored 8 goals in pl ?

Apart from Alexis, he has been arsenals most influential player. Arsenal needs to bounce back so he will start

      1. Christina.

        He's been subbed 4 out of last 7 games. Missed, 20,15,25 & 20 minutes.

Who knows what Arsene is thinking. Ars milfs were poor vs City and have lost last 2 in PL.

If he does get rested I think it's the Bournemouth in GW20.
But he may even start that and get rested for the FA Cup fixture 3 days after that.
I expect a few 60-70 min appearances but I think Ozil should get hooked before him.
I'm taking the risk and bringing him in.
