Dugout Discussion – Wednesday

The festive fixture list finally draws to its conclusion this evening as Tottenham Hotspur welcome Chelsea to White Hart Lane at 8pm.

Four of the top seven captains for Gameweek 20 – Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Alexis Sanchez, Sergio Aguero and Romelu Lukaku – have already found the net earlier in the week.

The remaining three, Diego Costa, Eden Hazard and Harry Kane, have it all to do, then, with Costa the most popular of that trio – 11.6% have backed the Spain international, compared to Hazard (4.7%) and Kane’s 2.8%.

Costa, certainly, has been the more impressive of the Chelsea pair on his travels – the Spain international has scored eight away goals compared to Hazard’s two.

Yet the league leaders won’t have it easy – Spurs boast the tightest home defence in the top-flight, with just five goals against in front of their own fans.

Chelsea, meanwhile, have been similarly resilient, conceding just one goal in six away matches since Antonio Conte switched to a 3-4-3 set-up.

Nonetheless, many Fantasy managers will be keeping a keen eye on Kane along with Deli Alli and Christian Eriksen, with the fixtures set to smile kindly on Spurs from Gameweek 21 onwards.

Yes but Lallana isn't known for getting points is he? He usually has 3-4 games without attracking returns at best, and Liverpool doesn't have great fixtures

Sterling is playing more advanced AND is trigger happy (although he can not shoot to save his life, but he plays the numbers game)

Sterling for sure; Pep can't decide what to do with his lads. With Mane out, Lallana is ever so nailed

Very true. But Pep seems to like him. Navas runs around quickly. Silva is slowing down. Jesus is a forward who needs to get his spot then prove he is the new Christ. De Bruyne is unstoppable. Sane is very good. So it's up to the unpredictable Pep but right now I think Sterling will get more points than Lallana.

    Heaton (Pickford)
    Alonso, Chambers, Holebas (Evans, Amat)
    Sanchez, Hazard, Lallana, Phillips (Capoue)
    Ibra, Costa, Origi
    2.6M ITB, 1FT.

Over the next 2 gameweeks, thinking of taking two -4 hits:

Hazard, Origi, Holebas, Evans > Alli, Lukaku, Baines, Brunt
(0.2m leeway for these moves at the moment, price changes could scupper half the plan by next week!)

Really unsure about losing Hazard for lei, HUL though...

    Thoughts?

    Here's a little tip

If you're not sure whether you want to do a certain transfer and the incoming player is due to price rise...

Let their price rise first and then think whether you still want to do the transfer. Otherwise you'll be too influenced by the price change.

What's attractive about Spurs is no CL remaining, and they really don't have a bad stretch the rest of the campaign. It's generally three good matches for every bad (or even mediocre) one:

      - at Pool is sandwiched by MID and STK.
      - Everton, Southampton, Arsenal, and ManU all are at home.

It's really quite a stretch from here on out. I already have Rose, Eriksen, and Kane. I wish I were allowed to add Toby and Alli too.

Word of caution for those jerking...

I sold Kane before Watford away (for Costa's nice home fix)
I then sold Siggy (for Lallana's 1 point at Sun)
