Paddy Says

Paddy Says – Gameweek 21

Fancy a year in China with a few – and by few we mean 30 – million quid to cover some of the basic costs while you’re there?

You don’t have to answer straight away. Have a think about it.

And while you’re doing that, you might as well check out the Anytime Goalscorer and Clean Sheet odds Paddy has lined up for the weekend. Just in case, you know, things don’t quite…work out with the…with the China…thing.

Before that, here’s the latest Enhanced Offers for new customers opening an account this weekend.

And some of them are seriously enhanced,  like the monstrous 16-1 you can get on Liverpool beating Man United in Sunday’s match of the weekend.

If you’re a United fan or just think the Red Devils will win, or both, (what with it being at Old Trafford and everything), then there’s 10-1 available on exactly that outcome.

Sunday’s other offering, Man City v Everton, also gets some odds – 8-1 on Pep’s boys winning at Goodison.

Chelsea’s trip to Leicester was always going to be tricky. The Foxes are vaguely remembering how defending champions are meant to act, while the Blues have now completely forgotten how teams on a long unbeaten run should behave.

And now, you know, Diego and the…the China thing. Still, you can get 8-1 on Antonio Conte to prove that nobody is bigger than the team.

Arsenal beating Swansea looks considerably more predictable, unless Alexis Sanchez gets a pre-match offer to play up front in a 3-5-2 far, far away with Diego, and Paddy are offering 7-1 on the Gunners winning.

The Wenger boys also feature in this week’s Acca, with 20-1 available on Arsenal, West Ham and Chelsea all winning.

The Hammers, who have their own issues with the talent at the moment, are at home to Palace. And at least their unhappy bunny only wants to go back to France.

Be sure to check the terms and conditions on all those offers and, of course, we should state that all these specials are only available to those aged 18 or over. And if you’re going to wager, always gamble responsibly.

Alexis Sanchez is the overwhelming captaincy favourite of Gameweek 21, but not the scorer of choice for Paddy.

Fantasy bosses look at the Arsenal man’s away goalscoring record (10 on the road, three at the Emirates) and factor in Swansea’s home form (seven goals coughed up in their last two matches) and that’s good enough for them.

Paddy, however, has gone for Sergio Aguero (1.80), compared to Alexis on 1.83. The Argentinian has been drafted in by nearly 76,000 managers ahead of City’s trip to Everton, but he still lags well behind Sanchez’s 36.7% ownership figures.

Spurs entertain West Brom in today’s lunchtime match, with the Baggies conceding, on average, just a goal per away trip.

Harry Kane (2.00) hasn’t scored at White Hart Lane since Gameweek 15 and is owned by just 15.5% of Fantasy managers, so you can see why it is the Arsenal man proving a more popular armband choice there as well.

This week’s bandwagon boy, Dele Alli, has been bought in by a staggering half a million-plus managers on the back of his seven goals in four Gameweeks. He’s at 2.70 to continue that streak.

Coincidentally, Chelsea’s Michy Batshuayi is also at 2.70 to score at Leicester, with Eden Hazard – another contender to take over up top in the absence of Diego Costa – at 2.62.

Of the outliers, the 3.40 you can get on Robert Snodgrass making it three league goals on the spin when Bournemouth visit looks tidy.

Stoke’s Peter Crouch is priced at 3.60 to ‘do a Snodgrass’ at Sunderland, and you can get 6.00 on the third most popular transfer-in of the Gameweek, Albion’s Matt Phillips, to score against Spurs.

* As sharper eyes quickly noticed, we originally stated that Kane was at Evens with Paddy, which was correct when we checked first thing this morning. The odds have since been updated to a decimal value so we’ve changed the article accordingly. Apologies for the confusion, most of which resided with the author.

Paddy has really got the hots for Spurs this weekend, making them the clear favourites, at 1.72, to keep a clean sheet.

The news that Nathan Ake has been recalled to Chelsea from his Bournemouth loan has made him the second most transferred-in defender of the Gameweek, with managers presumably taking a punt on him being an immediate, and cut-price, starter in the Blues’ back line.

That’s a proper gamble. Take him out of the equation, however, and Tottenham’s Danny Rose is one of the defenders of choice for Fantasy bosses, with just over 58,000 drafting him in this week.

Middlesbrough’s Calum Chambers just edges Rose for transfers-in and Boro are at 3.00 to keep a cleanie at Vicarage Road, while Watford are at 2.40 to do the same, so Paddy’s getting a 0-0 feeling about that one.

Burnley have just about given up travelling this season. When you’ve managed one whole point from away matches, you might as well save a lot of time, effort and money and just send an email congratulating the opposition on the three points.

But at Turf Moor, they are strangely awesome. And they’re also 3.40 to blank visitors Southampton today. The Saints are priced even lower to keep their sheets clean – 2.50 – so that could be another potential 0-0 worth investigating.
