The FFS Cup – Sponsored by FanDuel – The Final

This evening we reveal the finalists of our open to all Fantasy Premier League Cup competition, which takes place in Gameweek 23.

For this contest, there has been more than £1,000 worth of prizes for UK based entrants courtesy of our partner FanDuel, as well a £350 in Amazon vouchers to the top three managers at the end of the competition.

For more information about the prizes up for grabs as the competition reaches its final stage click here.

Competing for the top prize of a £200 Amazon voucher and £100 FanDuel credit will be Moin, who overcame Back on the Horse 57 to 47, and A Manager Has No Name, who defeated Hazardousblue 51- 47 in a more closely fought semi-final.

With an overall rank of 6173 Moin is arguably the favourite to join donnellyc, Jonty, Gribude, Goonerdave, Ninja_Fit_Saints, sleeping master, Mch, Wild Rover, Tdubb05 , CMIFLFC, Mark and last year’s champion Leon Harris in our Cup hall of fame.

Nevertheless, A Manager Has No Name’s rank of 21,711 is still impressive and his eight season’s worth of experience, compared with Moin’s five, means he cannot be underestimated.

Both go into the final with Burnley stopper Tom Heaton, Chelsea’s Marcos Alonso, Arsenal midfielder Alexis Sanchez, Harry Kane of Spurs, Stoke City’s Erik Pieters and Manchester United’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Our finalists have also made one early transfer, which could mean that Moin has decided to jettison Eden Hazard. With no money left in the bank and few credible options for the same price, it is perhaps more likely that he has made a tweak elsewhere.

As for A Manager Has No Name, he may have had his fill of Liverpool’s Adam Lallana who has returned just a goal and assist in his last six, perhaps deciding to downgrade the Liverpool midfielder. With 1.5m in the bank, he has clearly made a move with an eye for future purchases beyond this competition.

In terms of key differentials, Moin has Clarets striker Andre Gray up against A Manager Has No Name’s Alvaro Negredo, of Middlesbrough.

Both have strong home encounters, against Leicester City and West Brom respectively, with the Burnley striker perhaps enjoying the slightly more favourable encounter.

In midfield, Moin has West Ham’s Michail Antonio and Southampton’s Nathan Redmond alongside Hazard and Sanchez.

A Manager Has No Names’ centre of the park alternatives of Dele Alli, who travels to Sunderland, and Baggies set piece specialist Matt Phillips, looks likely to give him the edge here.

At the back, Moin has Red Devil Phil Jones and perhaps Everton’s Ashley Williams as the likeliest pair to be fielded alongside Alonso. With Jonny Evans still an injury doubt, Pieters would seem most likely to earn a promotion from the bench should he feel that the Potters offer stronger clean sheet prospects than Everton in their head-to-head clash.

The announcement that Middlesbrough defender Callum Chambers has picked up an injury is almost certain to mean Pieters will be moved into A Manager Has No Name’s first XI, while Danny Rose will be expected to overcome a slight injury to join his backline.

Meanwhile, over in the third place play off, where a £50 Amazon Voucher and £30 FanDuel credit is at stake, Back on the Horse’s overall rank of 8,526 gives appears to give him at least a psychological edge over 36,821 placed Hazardous Blue.

Is anyone considering one of the new signings for the third striker slot? Berahino/Niang/Jese if he signs for Boro

Niang is poor by all accounts. Berahino says himself that it will take a year to regain form and jes prob wont join

    Hi guys! Need your opinion here;

    Lloris, Heaton
    Alonso, Baines, Brunt, Friend, Amat
Sanchez, Hazard*, Antonio, Phillips, de Roon
    Ibrahimovic, Kane, Defoe
    2 ft, 0.9 itb.

Planning to do Hazard & Defoe --> Eriksen & Lukaku

Due to Hazards drop, would you do the first transfer (Haz -> Eriks) tonight?
Only 0.2 itb if I do it now, so can't do the transfers if there are to many price changes before the deadline.
Cant be wrong due to the blanks in gw26 and 28 to bring in these two, right?

Yes. I'd do the 1st one tonight. No huge rush to swap out Defoe, so I'd just monitor price rises and consider holding off.

Well, a Colgate (Coleman + Holgate) double up looks promising in the coming weeks, given that Everton has a great run of fixtures and are not facing any blanks.
Same is the case for Bryom (Brunt + Nyom).

Hi guys, need your opinion on this lot.

    Heaton Pickford
    Brunt Rose Pieters Love Ake*
    Alli Eriksen Sanchez Phillips Hazard*
    Costa Ibra Diamonde*
    2FT & £0m ITB

    Torn between the following moves

    1. Hazard and Diamonde to Tom Carroll and Lukaku (not keen to move from 3-5-2 that has served me well in recent weeks, to a rigid 3-4-3 with less flexibility)
    2. Hazard and Ake to Barkley and Baines or Coleman (gives a strong defence and the flexibility to easily bring in Alonso and a form premium midfielder)
    3. Hazard and Ake to Sigurdson and Baines or Coleman (same as 2 above plus Sigurdson feels a safer pick than Barkley)
    4. Ake to Holgate (almost a do nothing change but gives one more week to find a better replacement for Hazard)

So I got Baines 2 gameweeks ago, his 2 clean sheets have been more than welcome, but with all this Coleman hype I feel I have the 2nd best option from Everton's defence.
It might be the bandwagonism talking, but would it be pointless to do Baines->Coleman?
If anyone has been watching Everton play, does Baines take freekicks/corners?

    Do you think it's worth a hit to upgrade a defender this week with this backline;

    Cedric (swa), McAuley(mid), Holgate(stk), Chambers(injured) Holebas (suspended)

    0FT, 1.3ITB

Thinking of chambers or holebas to Brunt (which would allow Giroud to Lukaku in the coming week or two if either rise/drop) or to Coleman. What do you reckon?
