Dugout Discussion – Spurs vs Chelsea

After Aaron Mooy fired Huddersfield to victory over Newcastle, we make our way to Wembley as Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea go head-to-head in Sunday’s final fixture.

A victory for Spurs today would set a new club record of 15 successive home league wins, yet their record in competitive matches at Wembley – two wins, one draw and seven losses – is anything but convincing.

Subject to over 164,000 transfers out last week, Harry Kane has now gone 11 Premier League matches in August without finding the net.

Yet Kane was still the second most captained player for Gameweek 2, handed the armband by 526,000+ FPL managers as he looks to recover from last Sunday’s blank at Newcastle.

Both Christian Eriksen and Dele Alli plundered the points at St James’ Park to put Kane in the shade.

They also combined for both goals in the corresponding fixture last season, with Eriksen supplying assists for Alli’s pair of strikes in a 2-0 home win over the champions.

For Chelsea, Alvaro Morata is handed his first start after emerging from the bench to bag a goal and assist in last week’s shock home loss to Burnley.

But there’s no Eden Hazard as he fails to recover from an ankle injury in time for the Wembley encounter.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Casuals? I kept Alonso because he looked dangerous against Burnley in the first match.

Selling Alonso was crazy if you watched the last chelsea game. I don't have him but after seeing last weeks game I said I must find a way to get him in. Still won't be able to but maybe in a few weeks.

So many managers trying to emulate Conte's 343 but don't have the quality wingbacks too

Wenger playing Bellerin LWB is strange...

Arsenal do with Bellerin and Kolasinac. But Wenger is a fool for playing Ramsey in CM next to Xhaka. Needs a proper defensive mid in there.

They had two players off and still pushed to the end, and Alonso was super attacking too. I read that game different to you and Chelsea are still my favourites for the title, City would be if I trusted Kompany to stay fit

Given his stats, he was and still is the only Chelsea player worth owning.
