Dugout Discussion – Burnley vs Newcastle

The Gameweek finale falls on Turf Moor, for a Monday night encounter under the lights between Burnley and Newcastle United.

Fantasy interest is limited, in the main, to the defensive players on show. That’s a good thing scanning the statistics building up to this match.

Sean Dyche’s Clarets have scored the fewest home league goals this season, with just two efforts. But his defence have been typically miserly: only Liverpool and Manchester United have allowed fewer goals than the two conceded by Burnley.

Meanwhile, Newcastle arrive boasting just three away goals, only Everton and Crystal Palace have scored fewer.

Their goalkeeper, Rob Elliot, is the most owned player on show this evening. Now part of 26.4% of squads, the Magpies custodian trails only David De Gea (39.2%) in that respect. However, some 62% of Elliot’s 1.4 million owners keep him on the bench for Gameweek 10.

Stephen Ward has become the go-to option in the Burnley defence. The left-back is now owned by 14.7% of managers having already produced a goal and two assists this season, alongside three clean sheets.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

      Wouldn't save FT and play Yoshida and hope he starts next week.

      Then you can ship Yoahida the week after during the int. break with 2 FTs.

      If he doesn't start, you have Mee playing against a Soton side, who isn't exactly banging in the goals.

        Sold Kane for Morata last week. If Kane is fit then Jesus -> Kane (C) for free but not sure if he will make it as two weeks INTL break would be a nice time to get him fit/rested. Hamstring strains aren't something to be taken lightly...

      downgrade jesus too diouf/abraham/ even vardy. bmouth have nice fixs and everton too but everyone knows that they are shite atm. but a new manager will hopefully see that sigurdsson has been playing in a position that he is not functional and playing with slow players etc. rooney the average british guy.
      Davies too jones gets you at least 0.3 in the bank and gets you a man that gets cs and davies is not nailed on.
      You should be thinking off getting someone for ritchie and chalobah and keep rlc as cheapest 5th, gross,richarlison are ideas

      But first you should downgrade jesus too vardy since city forwards are a puzzle and stoke have been leaking more than julian assange
