The ScoutCast takes on the role of support group ahead of Gameweek 18, as the four-strong collective attempt to give advice on how to find motivation when the season begins to slide into the abyss.

I go AWOL, though Peter Kouwenberg comes in for a timely debut. The former Hall of Fame number one is one of those suffering an abject season, after an extraordinary run of three successive top 300 finishes. No, really.

For once, Jonty, Andy and Az are in the presence of Fantasy Premier League greatness, then, as the quartet give counsel on those struggling to soldier on after a season of “unnecessary roughness”.

Elsewhere they talk Harry Kane for once, as exit plans are abandoned, while questioning whether Eden Hazard can justify his selection in light of David Silva’s sudden goal spree.

        Nope, kane'to s been out for 8 weeks, lost Morata last week with the injury so downgraded to Bobby. Then took Daniels down to Ogbonna and upgraded coutinho to snachez

        You can't have everyone and it's calculated risks, key differences are no Morata, kane, rlc, Richardson which are the template players and I've gone for Kdb, sanchez, Firmino and Murray as my replacements till the dgw

        Would be harsh on long if hee is dropped straight away after doing so well and keeping cs since he got his chance. Wouldn't send a good message for the squad players to keep training and you will get a chance to stake a claim either. Mee might have to wait for his chance again.

      Those City players have been subject to so many knee-jerk transfers.

      Sane - started at 8.5, fell to 8.3, rose to 9.0, now 8.6

      Silva - started at 8.0, rose to 8.6, fell to 8.1, now 8.2

      Sterling - started at 8.0, fell to 7.8, rose to 8.2, fell 0.1, now 8.3

      Jesus - started at 10.5, rose to 10.7, fell to 10.3 (and more coming up)

      I've been particularly business-savvy with Jesus - have bought twice and sold once, always bought high and sold low 😛

          The funny thing is no actually - had him from the beginning but wildcarded him out for Aguero in GW6. Then the car crash happened, I got Morata. Then the Morata injury happened, I was left with only Jesus again, and have kept him since.

          I'm honestly not sure. Dyche did comment that he didn't want to rush players back as he wants them to be 100% ready both physically and mentally. That would suggest that both Lowton and Mee are 100%. On the other hand, given all the clean sheets they kept without him, I'm not sure if he just walks back in the team or whether he's eased in more gradually.

          Yeah I think that will be best. I'm saving this week to be flexible as I might go for one of Jones/Smalling instead of DDG and don't want to make the decision yet. If you're set on DDG next week though then you could make that trade this week. I was trying to find the best time to bring Man U def into my team. They have West Brom this week, Leicester next week and not sure either will be clean sheets.

            Thanks. Yeah I'm debating whether to get Firmino, Vardy or Rooney as 2nd striker in a 3-5-2. Wouldn't get Calvert-Lewin in that scenario (only as a cheap 3rd striker).

              I think with vardy he is nailed on for 90 pretty much every game Rooney has pens and form but my pick would be firmino because of the team he plays in

                It's tough - Firmino is a bit annoying for me because he's my least favourite of the Liverpool options, behind Salah, Coutinho and Mane. But may end up getting him anyway.

                  Yeah Liverpool could win 4-0 but firmino could still blank. Normally vardy is involved even if it's only 1 or 2-0 but recently Leicester seems to be scoring heaps and he doesn't seemed involved as much. That being said I haven't watched Leicester and Everton much since big Sam and puel have come in so I'm just talking numbers the eye test will give you a much better idea

      I have always loved Rooney as a player but I think the only time I ever had him in my team and was happy with him was when he had Ronaldo on the wing providing for him. Not sure he will get the same service from Lennon. He is playing consistently now so he could work out ok. I'd definitely prefer a 8.0 mid over him though

        Bench order correct for the weekend? Does Niasse get a run out / is Austin/Niasse worthy of a spot in front of Ogbonna or Mee?

      I think it's fine. Those trades sound ok. I'd be tempted to keep Mee as he rotates well with Ogbonna. Jones and Otamendi are good options but so is Kolasinac. Personally I would look to do smething like Kola to Otamendi (if you're set on losing Kola) then downgrade Zaha and upgrade Foster to DDG to tap into all of those defences.

        Cheers, I'm happy with a 3-5-2 / 4-5-1 (bench austin in his tough games, perhaps?).

        Have to sort out the bench, but should be okay.

        Would you play Mee and Ogbonna over Austin? Wishful thinking is that Niasse gets a run out, but Everton are going to keep the same team, especially playing on Monday.

        Set on losing Kola, yes. Perfect timing next week: Arsenal play Pool, MC have another easy one. No hurry on Jones+DDG as they'll likely stay in my team the rest of the year, but definitely getting them in reasonably soon.

        Save. If you want Leicester attacker I would downgrade Firmino and upgrade a mid to Mahrez. Mahrez will be on Pens and everything when he's in this sort of form. Personally I'm not getting any of them, I'm happy to just have Chilwell warm my bench

    I was going to do Foster & Daniels - > DDG & Christensen - 4 but gambled on neither rising and they did.

    I can still afford (0.1m leftover) but I'm a little reluctant now after missing the price changes. Is this just stubborness or does anyone else think the same?
