Sunday treats us to a single, but nonetheless crucial, Gameweek 24 fixture as Southampton welcome Tottenham Hotspur to St Mary’s at 4pm.

After Sergio Aguero’s hat-trick at home to Newcastle yesterday, Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers are looking for a repeat performance from Harry Kane today.

Having put three past the Saints in a 5-2 win in Gameweek 20, the Spurs frontman is the number one captain choice in FPL, handed the armband by 29.3%.

However, the visitors’ potential at both ends of the pitch has been dented by the absence of key duo Hugo Lloris and Christian Eriksen through illness.

Sold by over 96,000 FPL managers last week, the Dane could now be subject to a late-January exodus – Mauricio Pochettino’s men play Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal in the subsequent three rounds of fixtures.

Up against a defence that has mustered just a single clean sheet in their last 11 at home, owners of Dele Alli and Son Heung-Min will be optimistic of returns – the pair plundered 15 and 14 points respectively in that recent triumph over the Saints.

In defence, Ben Davies is handed a fourth straight start for only the second time this term, with Danny Rose again missing out due to an ongoing knee complaint.

        Seems to me he's trying too hard to do the non-obvious each time he has the ball.. ends up not doing anything at all. That's how they learn, though.

      I'd guess it's just a phase young players tend to go through, part of the learning process. He'll come back the stronger for it.

    Side stepped Aguero & Albrighton for Firm and Ox. Was always going to captain Harry even if Kun came in so if and it's a big IF Kane gets a hatty, i then need Firmino and Ox to get a combined total of 19 points to break even with Kun & Albrighton's score, not too much to ask is it 🙂

        Rules are rules. Not any different to moving a set piece forward or to the side, and encroaching in the wall, or whatever else. If they started throwing it one handed overhand for more distance it would be a problem.

        Do you play football? Have you ever seen people take throw-ins all the way into the box? At that point it's basically a cross which is huge and can lead to goals. Foul throws are done to get more distance, which in that case is really important.
