FFS Cup

Fantasy Football Scout Cup – The Last 16

Our open-to-all Fantasy Premier League Cup competition is edging towards its conclusion with just 16 managers left to battle it out in the sixth round.

Always Captain Kun, who is 23rd in the overall rankings, remains the hot favourite as the tournament’s highest placed manager. He already has a top 500 finish back in 2014/15.

The decision to Bench Boost in Gameweek 34’s fifth-round tie against Norman Conquest netted an impressive 107 points and helped him win by a 40-point margin. His chief stars were Manchester United’s Chris Smalling, Burnley’s Johann Berg Guðmundsson and his captain Harry Kane, who all delivered double-digit returns.

BroTown_Tindersticks, who is ranked 96,678, faces the daunting task of taking on the cup favourite. Both have their Free Hit and Triple Captain chips left, with the former likely to be deployed by both.

The competition’s second highest placed manager N@th (rank 1,247) has a far trickier encounter. He has been drawn against Dmcqt, who is just 1,712 places behind him and one of six remaining competitors to boast a top 10,000 rank.

N@th’s 108 score in round five proved too much for kevcar’s tally of 73, while Dmcqt had a far closer match with The Matadors, who he edged out 95 to 91. In terms of chips, Dmcqt only has a Free Hit remaining, while N@th has both his Free Hit and Triple Captain chips at his disposal.

The competition’s lowest placed manager Meribenige’s score of 78 in the previous round was just enough to see off Bilbo Baggins (rank 14,968), who could only muster 66 points.

But the 296,8181-ranked minnow will need to ramp up his giant-killing skills to defeat 1,522 placed Batmaniac in the sixth round. This task is made especially difficult as Meribenige only has a Bench Boost chip left and has already taken two hits.

Batmaniac, meanwhile, has both his Free Hit and Triple Captain chips to call on. It seems likely that the former is being deployed and tinkering already underway, given no transfers have been flagged up for his team, and he has 6.1 in the bank.

The full fifth round results can be found here, while the draw for the last sixteen can be found here.

I am in a similar position but only up 20 points. I think I will go Auba with a strong first sub (Wood in my case). Even in 25-30 minutes Auba has a chance of scoring if he replaces Welbeck/Laca/Iwobi

How so? He got 8 points last week, and starts against West Brom this weekend. I am on a free hit and thinking of selling him to Sterling next week for free and buying back in 38 for Mahrez personally since 36 will likely be rest and 37 is at Chelsea for Mo while Sterling has 3 fixtures there. That's the real SALAHexit in my opinion that will work.

        Salah to Eriksen in GW33...

Milner is their first choice mid and has been hauled off on 63 mins in the Everton match. If hr is hauled off on 59 mins it would be a bad punt
Milner hendo ox is first choice so high chances Milner is hauled off

Yeah, plus I wonder if he's really OOP. Perhaps he is on average, but the FBs might find themselves in influential attacking positions more often. Milner as a FB spent a lot of time in and around the penalty area.

The most likely players to be hauled off are Milner Salah and mane. So penalties for Milner is NOT at all a factor as he could be hauled off earlier

Fair enough. It's just with 3 CMs, the responsibility to create chances and score goals is shared quite broadly, whereas there is one person on each wing tasked with creating chances via crosses and making runs into the box.

Milner doesn't provide much more than Wilshere, but people haaaaate Wilshere as an FPL option. In fact, Wilshere cares less about defending than Milner does. Just sayin

Not gonna lie, I'm tempted, I'll start building a team a bit later, now that the leaked team is out, and see if he slots in nicely.

Perfectly valid option. I don't think Moreno was as prolific as Robbo, and it gives me an excuse to have all of City's likely front 3 🙂

Finding it a little strange Jesus is being touted as an autopick now.

He's never really convinced me, and a good chance he misses a game or two between now and the end of the season to give Sterling a go in the middle.

Having said that, he's in my FH team this week with Bobby out 🙂

Nailed to play City attacker with the midfield behind him makes anyone an auto-pick despite the name.
