Hazard and Lukaku in fine form ahead of Gameweek 5

Eden Hazard and Romelu Lukaku continued their excellent scoring records for Belgium ahead of Gameweek 5.

The pair could be the subject of transfer activity in the coming days after impressing on international duty once again.

We’ve got more information on the pair as well as all the Fantasy talking points to come out of Friday’s UEFA Nations League and international friendlies in this latest Scout Notes piece.

SCOTLAND 0-4 BELGIUM

Andrew Robertson (£6.1m) – 90 minutes
Kevin McDonald (£4.5m) – 53 minutes
Stuart Armstrong (£5.3m)- 53 minutes
Ryan Fraser (£5.6m) – 90 minutes
Robert Snodgrass (£5.5m) – 33 minutes

Vincent Kompany (£5.4m) – 45 minutes
Jan Vertonghen – (£6.0m) – 90 minutes
Moussa Dembélé (£4.9m) – 85 minutes
Eden Hazard (£10.7m) – 56 minutes
Romelu Lukaku (£11.0m) – 45 minutes

There was a heavy Premier League presence in this match although it was very one-sided in terms of the result. Not surprisingly, there were further international goals for Eden Hazard, who also picked up an assist, and striker Romelu Lukaku. Both key players were taken off after 56 and 45 minutes respectively, presumably with an eye for them to be fresher for Tuesday’s competitive meeting with Iceland.

Lukaku has now scored 18 goals in his last 16 appearances for Belgium while Hazard has been involved in 27 in his last 26 (13 goals, 14 assists). The Manchester United striker appears to be in excellent form, which bodes well for his FPL prospects as we discovered last week. Meanwhile, Hazard is very much in the captaincy conversation for Gameweek 5.

Andrew Robertson, Jan Vertonghen and Ryan Fraser were the only FPL assets to register 90 minutes at Hampden Park. Vincent Kompany, Kevin McDonald, Stuart Armstrong and Mousa Dembélé were all substituted, with Robert Snodgrass featuring from Scotland’s bench.

Toby Alderweireld (£5.9m), Leander Dendoncker (£4.4m), Callum Paterson (£5.4m) and Scott McTominay (£4.4m) were all unused substitutes for their respective sides.

LITHUANIA 0-1 SERBIA

Nemanja Matic (£5.0m) – 82 minutes
Aleksandar Mitrovic (£6.7m) – 90 minutes

Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic continued his fine start to the season by contributing to Serbia’s success against Lithuania on Friday. It was him who won the first-half penalty for his country in their Nations League opener, although it was former Southampton man Dusan Tadic who dispatched it before missing another in the second period.

ITALY 1-1 POLAND

Davide Zappacosta (£5.2m) – 90 minutes
Jorginho (£5.1m) – 90 minutes

Two of Chelsea’s Italian trio were involved for the Azzurri on Friday. Jorginho netted a second-half penalty to secure a Nations League point for Roberto Mancini’s men, reminding us that he is the likely dispatcher for Chelsea when Eden Hazard is not around.

Davide Zappacosta made his first start of his campaign and also played 90 minutes while Emerson Palmieri (£5.3m) was not used in the matchday squad, despite impressing with his initiation song.

TURKEY 1-2 RUSSIA

Caglar Söyüncü (£5.0m) – 90 minutes
Cenk Tosun (£7.0m) – 90 minutes

There was a first appearance of the season for Leicester’s new signing Caglar Söyüncü, who recorded 90 minutes for his country. Everton striker Cenk Tosun also played for the whole of the competitive match. Neither player was involved in any of the goals.

ALBANIA 1-0 ISRAEL

Beram Kayal (£4.5m) – 72 minutes

Brighton’s Beram Kayal managed 72 minutes in this Nations League match for his country, although he does not appear to be in the first-team picture at the Amex Stadium.

SOUTH KOREA 2-0 COSTA RICA

Ki Sung-yeung (£4.9m) – 45 minutes
Son Heung-min (£8.3m) – 83 minutes

It was an eventful night for Son Heung-min as South Korea played their first friendly since winning gold at the Asian Games. The Spurs man hit the post with a first-half penalty but Lee Jae-Sung Il netted the rebound awarding him a ‘Fantasy assist’. Later in the match, Son also provided an assist for Nam Tae-Hee’s goal.

Newcastle United midfielder Ki Sung-yeung played the first 45 minutes of this friendly, and it was he who played the ball into the box from deep that led to Korea’s penalty.

Same here. Still believe he's the best 5.0 defender going around but those yellows and missed points do sting. Keep telling myself he's benchable at 5.0 and the benchings in GW5-GW9 is why I got him over Robbo.

Patricio likely to be the 4.5m GK with the most CS's, but will he get any bonus with a back 5, who meet the passing requirements, taking the BAPS.

Does this make Ryan the better option in your opinion?

On Patricio purely for the better chance of cleanies, what comes after that is a bonus. Do see Wolves geting more cleanies for sure

Think he was just saying what he thinks, as in when captaining Aguero there’s always that small amount of doubt he might be benched

We know how the last "murmur" went 🙂
But really unless he has a niggle don't see it . Surely Pep wants the team to gain momentum ?

Always a chance of rotation but I've been burned by not captaining him due to these rumours already this year. I would guess two up front again surely but it is just a guess.

Why would he? No international duty. The game against Lyon is on Wednesday. Agüero plays almost every home game.

I would guess that Jesus, Sterling, Agüero, Silva and Fernandinho will all play. The last spot is up in the air.

No chance. Jesus has looked off the pace, he’s sung Aguero praises and City are already playing catch up! Kun starts!

Imagine Pep goes with Dilva, Jesus and Aguero. Not sure exactly where Bilva would fit. Probably will come on for another 1pt cameo.

    Fab
    Mendy Robbo Alonso
    Mane HazardC Pereyra Mhki
    Aguero Firmino

    Bennet WB Rich*

Play Bennet or WB? Should I ship Mhki? Cheers!

Really close between WB and Bennet esp if Tomkins is declared fit. Guess you go with the guy with the home game.
Keep Mkhi, it's only been one game on the bench and Emery might find a way to play him with Laca in the team. Plus it's Cardiff, if he starts good chance he'll be involved in the points.

Yeah I’m torn! Might just go Bennet as I haven’t played him yet and I like him lol. Very true about Mhki I’ll give him one more shot I think.. thx for the advice

Sure np. Just realized Ars play new and not CAR. Would still hold Mkhi though.

Pretty good for the what seems to be the flavor of the week. You could hardly do better with the information we have at hand atm. Only concern is the inflexibility in the team might be a problem if the big strikers Auba/Kaku start firing.

Quite a weird, he was a regular versus Belgium and now he is not even on the bench

Am I right in thinking he played wing back?

Could just be due to the demands of that position? Am I being delusional in my optimism? 🙂

Already have Hazard and Alonso, so between Pedro or Maddison?

The preface doesn't affect the answer, imo.

Pedro for next 2, Maddison long term.

I'm on WC, and going for Pedro to then bring in Richarlison again.

My thoughts exactly good sir, appreciated, I am on a WC as well. Pedro then Ill switch to Maddison after the next 2 GW.

Personally I'd start with Maddison if you'd be making the switch anyway. Could end up being a minus 4 if other issues hit your squad.

Not really a good idea to plan transfers. I'm only doing so because I want Rich and he has a ban and then plays my Arsenal. (Benched Mendy's 15 points GW1 😀 )

Would you make this move for a hit (-4)

    Mikhi & Firmino to

    Hazard & Mitrovic

In isolation, yes I would. Bobby's fixtures and uncertainty surrounding Mkhi makes it worth spending the points to get two nailed on players and luxury of making the change before Haz vs CAR

What do you think of my wildcard?

    Patricio Hart
Def: Trippier Alonso Mendy W-Bis holebas
Mid: Hazard Mane Lucas pereyra Stephens
    Att: Lukaku Zaha Wilson

What changes would you suggest if any?

Hart to a 4.0 have faith
      Downgrade Holebas
      Get Kun
      Downgrade Zaha
      Get Dilva in for Pereya
