Scoutcast Episode 269 – Eggs

Investing heavily in Chelsea and Liverpool has proved a successful strategy for many this season. But with these two title contenders going head to head in Gameweek 7, is this ‘eggs in one basket’ tactic about to come unstuck?

David, Andy and Az join me to discuss the best strategy for dealing with these tricky ties when so many highly owned players are squaring up against each other.

We also consider the merits of bringing in the likes of Everton talisman Richarlison (£6.6m) and Arsenal’s newly sure-starting striker Alexandre Lacazette (£9.4m), as they answer the community’s questions.

Tapping into Spurs’ fine fixture run, and in particular, the improving form of Harry Kane (£12.4m), is also on the bill. But will Andy’s ambitious plan to swoop for the Tottenham forward leave him with egg on his face?

Elsewhere, the Scoutcast crew look at Gameweek 7’s likeliest clean sheets and best low-owned gems, reveal their plans for the next set of matches and laugh and cry at some of the community’s roughest and smoothest recent transfers.

This Scoutcast was first beamed live via our YouTube channel on Tuesday evening. Be sure to subscribe to get notice of future live episodes.

Christian Kabasele sent off for pulling down Alli and a penalty awarded

What happened to the double jeopardy rule?

I always thought a red card would be given if it was a clear goalscoring opportunity?

        I don't know

I thought if a penalty was awarded for denying a clear goal scoring opportunity that the player would only receive a yellow card

No, it’s about attempting to tackle the ball.

      It's only for accidental fouls.

If there is a clear attempt for the ball (sliding tackles for the ball etc.) no red is given for denying a clear goalscorong opportunity, where there’s no clear (legal) attempt for the ball (handball, pulling, pushing...), a red card is given.

Tge rules changed a couple of seasons ago.

If Lacazette is in starting 11 week in week out for FPL - is he in your team? For 9.4 (soon to be 9.5) its surely a must? and surely Unai must see that he wins games for them.

I'd say so yeah. But Zaha, Arnie, Vardy and Mitro are all cheaper options who will return more minutes and very similar points for pounds. That nagging rotation at Emirates is making them all very unattractive.

Very different goals... bit like comparing maradona’s vs England to Tony yeboah’s volley v Liverpool!

Took more skill to score hazards imo though... if a normal person went out with a ball and tried volleys non stop for a day or two you’d eventually hit one like mcginn’s... you could try to do what hazard did for years & it wouldn’t come off.

Cheers MBP! The reason for my OP was that was the goal they were comparing it to, having seen both now can only agree. Both very different goals but I do prefer McGinn's if I'm totally honest...

Agree about Hazard skill but I think that volley would take more than a day or two... have you seen the reverse angle!
