Watchlist Update – Morata bursts onto scene as Wolves improve

We have updated the Watchlist ahead of Fantasy Premier League Gameweek 12.

All four sections have been tackled in one article this time around with attention drawn only to the biggest changes.

Make sure you investigate the widget in full on our sidebar to see who we think you should be monitoring for your squads in the coming weeks.

The only mover in the goalkeeper department is Jordan Pickford (£4.9m) who creeps just above Newcastle shot-stopper Martin Dubravka (£5.0m). There are two tricky fixtures for Everton in the next four as they have to travel to Chelsea and Liverpool but home matches against Cardiff and Newcastle have strong clean sheet potential.

Above him, Kasper Schmeichel‘s (£5.0m) form has increased from C to B as Leicester kept their first clean sheet since Gameweek 7 in their recent win at Cardiff City.

Just below the Dane, Rui Patrício (£4.6m) shakes off his Unfavourable Fixtures factor as Wolves schedule eases a little. After a trip to Arsenal this week, the newly-promoted side have Huddersfield (home) and Cardiff (away) as well as a trip to Newcastle in Gameweek 16. However, the Gameweek 15 visit of Chelsea and Gameweek 17 meeting with Bournemouth keep his fixture factor blank for now.

Ben Foster‘s (£4.5m) schedule swings in a different direction as his Favourable Fixtures factor becomes an Unfavourable Fixtures one. Watford’s next four matches are Southampton (away), Liverpool (home), Leicester (away) and Manchester City (home).

Patrício’s Wolves colleague Matt Doherty (£4.9m) is the only rising defender. That fixture swing is what has underpinned him creeping just past Keiran Trippier (£6.3m), who faces Chelsea (home) and Arsenal (away) in two of the next three Gameweeks. To his credit though, Trippier has finally shaken off his Rotation Risk factor having started the last 10 Premier League matches in a row and featuring only as a late substitute in Spurs’ midweek Champions League win over PSV.

Kiko Femenía (£4.2m) remains on the list as a starting £4.2m defender but Watford’s fixtures (mentioned above) push him to the bottom of the pile. The options from Leicester (Chilwell), Everton (Digne) and Newcastle (Yedlin) all look better for the near future. Femenía’s form also drops to B, with two hauls and two blanks in the last four matches.

Mohamed Salah (£13.0m) and Eden Hazard (£11.3m) remain above Raheem Sterling (£11.1m) among midfielders for Gameweek 12, in spite of the Man City man’s 21-point haul against Southampton. He keeps his Rotation Risk factor on account of missing two plum home fixtures to Pep Guardiola’s selection policy earlier this season. Meanwhile, Hazard loses his Injury factor having officially recovered from his back problem.

After switching him to Gylfi Sigurdsson (£7.5m) for Gameweek 11, Richarlison (£6.9m) has returned to the Watchlist. We consider it a peace offering after he ruthlessly punished our decision to remove him a week ago. Fantasy Football Scout members will be able to look at the data behind his return to the Watchlist by reading this article.

James Maddison’s (£7.0m) knee injury sees him drop to eighth place while Ryan Fraser (£6.1m) and Anthony Martial (£7.5m) benefit to occupy sixth and seventh place respectively.

Fulham’s problems in front of goal have seen Andre Schürrle (£5.9m) drop off the end of the list to be replaced by West Ham’s Felipe Anderson (£6.8m). It’s mainly the fixtures that hold him there for now as we’d like to see some consistency before pushing him higher up.

A 13-point haul against Southampton is enough for Sergio Aguero‘s (£11.4m) form to go back to A. Therefore, he holds onto top spot in the forwards’ section.

12 points registered against Burnley sees Marko Arnautovic (£7.1m) improve his form to B and he is set for another week in second place with West Ham’s nice run.

The only other change in the forwards’ section sees Aleksandar Mitrovic (£6.7m) fall off the bottom in disgrace. His replacement is Álvaro Morata (£8.7m) who has four goals in his last four matches and impressive underlying statistics to back that up too. He comes in just below Harry Kane (£12.4m) but one above Roberto Firmino (£9.2m)

Triple Captain analysis - credit goes to an earlier post by JCROSBIE. Hope you don't mind me reposting to gather further opinions.

    Link in question - https://mathematicallysafe.wordpress.com/2018/10/26/fpl-strategy-why-i-am-going-to-play-my-triple-captain-chip-by-gw14/

Liverpool have spurs in GW32, and Man City have Spurs in GW 35. That totally rules out Harry Kane for the TC chip this year in the DGW's, and also rules out Salah, Mane, Aguero, Sterling. That's most of the usual cast ruled out and makes me think seriously about using the TC in a single gameweek.

The only candidate with good fixtures in both are Arsenal (potentially wol NEW in GW 32 and eve CRY in GW 35), and they may well be in a position to just concentrate on the league. And Chelsea, who are in the same position as Arsenal could potentially have eve car in GW 32 and WHM BUR in GW 35.

Only trouble there is that the only potential players I'd captain for both are Hazard, and potentially Alonso - at present, Arsenal players are too unpredictable to be starting or not.

Really tempted with Salah this weekend - If he matched Sterling's haul of 2G 2 A that would be a whopping 63 points. I don't think that's out of the question against Fulham. It's just a fear of wasting the chip.

Am very tempted by Salah this weekend but have Mané and Robertson as well so might be too many eggs in one basket.

If Hazard finds a bit of form, his bonus and penalties make him a possibility against Fulham in GW14 too...

Three games in a week after Fulham - chance Hazard gets rested?

    2. InSaneMan-e

      This is a bit premature.
For example aubamenyang smashed it during the double dgw last year didn't he?
Not to mention if utd do have a stand out form player by then...doubt it though
And Liverpool spurs matches give goals, city thumped spurs at home last year. I think all options are still there

        • Fantasy Football Scout Member

Yeah totally agree it's premature but it's more a case of would you be wasting an even better chance right now if none of those players turned out as options come the last few gameweeks.

By ruling out Salah, Aguero, Kane it then turns into a bit of a lottery and that's even without considering rotation concerns.

But I can't rule them out. Especially because city can score big against anyone

      NIce one !

      so those are TC options:

LIV at home to CAR, GW10
MCI at home to SOT, GW11
LIV at home to FUL, GW12
CHE at home to FUL, GW14
TOT away at FUL, MCI away at HUD GW23
CHE at home to HUD, GW25

It's between Salah this weekend or Hazard in GW14 for me.

GW 14, 15 and 16 are three games in a week so I'm wondering if Hazard gets rested v Fulham(h).

Disagree on the part that it rules out City options based on fixtures. They can put 5 past anyone. The risk with them is rotation.

why Auba over Laca? Auba playing reduced minutes and playing Europa and cup games. Laca rested for cup and europa and starts up top every week. Auba aint gunna score two off the bench every week

Auba has started last 2 and he has more quality than Laca, it will shine through in the next 3-4 gw's...i have a feeling. ive seen him getting into better positions in last few games too and he has one of the the best conversion rates in league if not world.

    Fab Fodder

    Alonso Robbo Chilly Doherty AWB

Salah (C) Sterling Maddy Rich Fodder (non playing)

    Aguero Arnie Wilson

1 FT available and zero money in bank.

Was going to roll with the Maddy injury and make 2 FT's next week (and play Doherty this week) but with Rich probably also out I am wondering whether I should take a hit.

Current have OR of 950 so have been doing well but a bit stuck now.

One thought was, instead of straight swap for Maddy, get a better/more expensive player but that would obviously have to be coupled with gaining money from elsewhere.

What about making Sterling to Sane then using the extra cash for Maddy to Martial or Siggy?

Another alternative is upgrade non playing fodder but again would need to generate cash from somewhere else and that would be for minus 8.

    Thanks in advance.

I'm pretty sure he -40 something % last night. I checked to make sure he wasn't going to drop so I could make the decision today.

Currently around 1600 overall and need some advice of transfer to compete all the way post december with 500 rank

    Team
    Fabianski 4mn
    Alonso Mendy Robertson Doherty cheapie
    Salah Hazard Richarlison Barkley* cheapie
    Kun* Wilson Arnie
    0mn ITB

    1) Save FT hoping Barkley starts as unlikely having played entire Europa match
    2) Kun + cheap mid to Jiminez + Mane -4
    3) Hazard to Mane and then get back Haz for fulham home
I know 1st looks best but dont want to lose opportunity on Mane to rise in ranks like I did vs Cardiff

Barkley at home to old Club... Everton leaky all season. I'd be saving that transfer.

Still tempted to start Barkley myself, classic situation of coming back to haunt former club. Done an exclusive interview with Sky about it and all...

On the other hand, could be sent off.

Bit of help needed here. I’ve got Maddison and possible bench replacements are Bennett, wan bissaka and hojberg. Do I take a -4 to replace him (still gonna sell after IB anyways) or replace with someone from bench (who?)

    1. Dr. Mantis Toboggan
      • 7 Years
      5 years, 5 months ago

He will probably have lost 0.2m or 0.3m by the end of the IB, so if you want him out it's best to do it now.

Bench isn't very strong so there's a good chance you could make back the -4. Do you have Ricahrlison, or any cash in the bank?

Yea I’ve got richarlison, who would be worth the -4? Money itb is bout 1.7 but planning to use that for a mane to sterling switch after IB

thats a tough decision! ship for brooks maybe, should be plying up top again, bad fixtures after IB though

Sadly I’ve considered him also. Best option so far seemed like Anderson but I’d be depressed for two weeks if it turns out awful as closest ml rival is 9 points behind and that’s without the -4 I’m about to take.

I was thinking for a double Gameweek (I presume he’ll have one?) but Fulham might be perfect. I would have to look at his stats at least a game or two before going for it but the little man is a genius so as I said he could be a winner!! You have to take risks from time to time to get ahead in this game. If I was a betting man I’d bet on him for sure!!

      Depending when I WC

But tempted to keep until GW16 - three matches in a week between 14 and 16 so good chance he starts 1/2 of those and I'd guess he would have a good chance of starting against Fulham

I was hoping to do Maddison -> Richarlison next GW, but if Maddison drops tonight I will be priced out of it.

Is it worth doing this ahead of the weekend for a -4? (If Maddison looks likely to drop that is).

Wait for Richarlison injury news also (1:30pm Silva press conference)
BBC also reporting he picked up an injury in training this week.
