Which FPL players are on international duty and when?

Fantasy Premier League managers are faced with another international duty characterised by yellow flags this month.

A flurry of players have already withdrawn from their national team squads ahead of the final break of the 2018 calendar year.

The French roster has been particularly in flux recently with Benjamin Mendy (£6.4m), Paul Pogba (£8.0m), Anthony Martial (£7.6m) and Alexandre Lacazette (£9.7m) all pulling out in the last few days.

Nicolas Otamendi (£6.1m) has withdrawn from the Argentina squad facing a double-header with Mexico, Aaron Wan-Bissaka (£4.2m)  has shirked international duty with the England under-21s and Fulham’s Kevin McDonald (£4.4m) has opted not to link up with Scotland.

There have also been a number of absences caused by injuries picked up in the most recent round of matches.

Kieran Trippier (£6.2m), Gylfi Sigurdsson (£7.5m), Asmir Begovic (£4.5m), Shane Long (£4.8m) and Wilfried Zaha (£6.8m) are all absent from the international stage over the next few days as they deal with various knocks.

Neither one of Stephan Lichtsteiner (£4.6m) and Danny Welbeck (£6.5m) will be present for their nations after hurting themselves in Arsenal’s most recent Europa League excursion.

In keeping with recent quotes from Marco Silva about him, Richarlison (£6.9m) remains determined to accept another Brazil call-up despite picking up a minor ankle problem in the 0-0 draw at Chelsea.

However, not every omission has been up to the players themselves. Marcos Alonso (£7.1m), Pedro (£6.3m) and Cesc Fabregas (£6.3m) have all missed out on places in the Spain squad while Maraoune Fellaini (£4.9m) was not selected for Belgium.

Tottenham left-back Ben Davies (£5.6m) will also get a rest as Ryan Giggs opted not to include him in the latest Wales squad. He is suspended for the Dragons’ Nations League match against Denmark due to an accumulation of yellow cards.

There will be less worry among Fantasy managers over late international break comebacks this time around with Brazil playing both of their matches in England. Their meeting with Uruguay will be at Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium, four days before the Selecao face Cameroon at Stadium MK.

Jokanovic punished because of poor management and poor investments. Hope he gets a job in a more serious team...

Who's Selecao? Is he related to Falcao?
He's going straight into my FPL team anyway, I want to get him before the bandwagon.

Does Raineri play with a target man? Otherwise Mitrovic at risk?

Well at Leicester he went with pace in behind, but Fulham don't really have that, and as Mitrovic is their best striker it's more likely Raineri adapts to him, at least until the January window.

....really Mitrovic shouldn't be in any teams now anyway.

I think Ryan Sessegnon can bring pace in there, can't he?

Could be great if he can become a genuine attacking prospect now his price has dropped to 6.0.

He's not really good enough to be the focal point of attack like Vardy was.

We will now play 442 now with a second striker (Schurrle most likely).

They played well against Liverpool, but fact of the matter is they have 5 points after 12 matches. They let teams score against them for fun.
IB is a great time to get a fresh manager, and it would be stupid to pu in a new manager befor the liverpool match.

Ranieri now has a chance to get a decent start against Southampton, an also has a week and a half to get into the groove at Fulham FC

Going to be a long 2 weeks with Awb, Doherty, Mendy, Rich & Siggy in my team.

Particularly worried about Mendy & Siggy as their injuries seem to be more than international injuries.

Who would be your top replacements for Siggy & Mendy if they are ruled?

Martial for Siggy a no brainer? But will have to raise 0.1m from somewhere.
    Looking at Balbuena/Laporte/Digne for Mendy.

    Appreciate your thoughts! 🙂

Got Digne two weeks ago based on stats and somewhat limited eyetest. Been following evertons two last fixtures, im certain I made a great move 😉 set pieces and as attacking as Baines in his prime. Uncertain if he has any goals in his locker, but should get some assists in those plum homefixtures to come.

Can someone remind me - can an injury flagged player rise in price?

    1. Maximus Bonimus Pointimus
      • 14 Years
      5 years, 5 months ago

Yep they can both rise and fall in price. A red flagged player should price change at a slower rate though. And removal of a red flag triggers price protection for a week

Thanks mate, I knew there was something around injury and protection..

Fingers crossed the Martial flag stops the bandwagon enough...

Have exactly the funds for Fraser + Lamela - > Martial +Kenedy.....

Not emotionally ready to say farewell to Fraser.....

Managers Melee Tournament - call to join team 'Alice in Wengerland'! (reposting here as well as on the main article)

Boris has been up to his ears. Boris is very sorry for only just getting around to going through applications. Boris apologies profusely.

Alice in Wengerland are 8 players strong at the moment and are looking for three more players to fill the squad. I will have lost the will to live by about 8pm tonight, so get your appy's in by then and you might be lucky enough to join the team that will win the Managers Melee.

Best combination guys A) or B)

    Martial/TAA for Maddison/Trippier
    Brooks/Jimenez for Maddison/Success

Can we discuss the effect of ranieri on Fulham ? Are his tactics reliant on counter attacking like the vardy years or can he still use the Mitrovic (slimani) type striker ? How do we expect them to set up?

      • 7 Years

      I am thinking early on:
      Mitro
      Schurrle
      Sess Cairney Seri/Zambo Vietto
      Bryan Mawson Chambers Fosu
      Rico

I think he's going to use Vietto behind Mitro, maybe even start him over Mitro(cause he likes a pacy striker).

Yeah maybe shurrle left, sess right, Vietto up too with mitro causing problems behind

Intresting transfer by grant. King to iheanacho. He was dropped the previous game and has been playing 60 mins on others. Kinda high risk low reward pick

kind of thankful for the ings 6 pts now, despite his injury

just seen that he'd picked up a hammy niggle in the warm up before the game but proceeded to play anyway.. that transfer could have been a whole lot more painful

And the way he got the assist too, big relief

yep I wanted jiminez but went ings due to the fixture in gw12.. could have been a lot worse, at least he matched him

albeit, I may need to use another transfer to bin him if he's out for gw13

Unless Mendy's injury is indeed serious, but even then I'd avoid the double-up depending on the rest of your defence
