Where FPL teams concede the most chances from – Part 3

We have used the latest international break to identify trends in the opening 12 Gameweeks of the 2018/19 season.

This aim of this study, which we began last week and continued yesterday, has been to assess where each FPL team is most susceptible when it comes to conceding goals.

Using data available in the Members Area, we have looked at chances conceded from set pieces, through the middle and down the left or right flank.

With the relevant areas pinpointed all 20 teams, we produced a list of which players stand to benefit the most in the next six Gameweeks.

In this final part we will be comparing the individual data of the FPL options who made the cut…

If you have 2ft and nothing to do I'd argue yes, as you'll free up a bit of money and not be any worse for it. If its 1ft or a -4 then there's probably no point.

Its not "but still" though. That is the exact point, Salah has been lethal at home and not away, and those stats from last year reflect that.

To add to all the above points, Liverpool this season aren't the same attacking force. They aren't demolishing teams 4 & 5-0, it's all 1 to 2 goal wins.

Add to that there's every chance Mane gets the goals not Salah so they could win and Salah still blanks.

      1. King Kun Ta

Mainly the case with City....Kun has to share the points with so many teammates.

Wouldn't spend -8 to get Salah in. But you could prepare for it by doing Mendy -> 4.2-4.8 now, and see what the weekend brings.

    Salah at home: 8 8 8 3 15 8
    Aguero at home: 20 6 7 8 6 13 7
    Richarlison at home: 9 3 3 15

    Salah away: 9 2 2 2 8 2
    Aguero away: 2 2 6 1 2
    Richarlison away: 14 -2 2 7 5

Salah's 2 decent scores away from home came against Palace and Huddersfield. His other away fixtures have been Leicester, Spurs, Chelsea and Arsenal (so not surprising he isn't hauling given the difficulty of those fixtures).

Aguero's 1 decent score away from home came against Cardiff. His other away fixtures have been Arsenal, Wolves, Liverpool and Spurs (so again not surprising he isn't hauling given the difficulty of those fixtures).

Richarlison missed two home games against Huddersfield and West Ham after being banned. His two home hauls were against Southampton and Brighton. His two blanks were against Fulham and Crystal Palace.

For me it is (in order of best option)

        1) Salah - has shown an ability to score points against weaker teams at home and away and gets CS point and 5pts for a goal
        2) Aguero - similar to Salah, but no CS point
        3) Richarlison - too unpredictable to trust

I'd argue if you use your TC to stay top of the league then its a bit of a false position if your opponent has it in the bank. Sort of like being top but others have games in hand.

Out of all those I'd say Sterling/Richarlison probably have the highest ceiling. Presumably playing your TC this week means you are feeling brave, go for Richarlison?

On a WC. Would love some help on this dilemma:

    A) Duffy / Fraser / Martial / Wilson
    B) Bennet / Richarlison / Martial / Jimenez
    C) Digne / Fraser / Richarlison / Wilson (+ 0.5 ITB, could be Hamer - > Fab)

There's obviosly a lot to of adjustments who could be made here, but everything boils down to a) getting Richarlison and/or b) getting Martial, compared to c) losing one, or maybe two BOU assets.

    What do you think?

    Current team:
    Patricio / Hamer
    Alonso / Robertson / Duffy / Schindler / AWB
    Salah / Sterling / Martial / Fraser / Kayal
    Wilson / Arnie / Aguero

Since City is by far the best team going forward I'd say that evdn triple up of their forwards/mids is good idea.
They are after all the only team in the league that can absolutely trash opponents both home & awag and I dont they hit their top gear yet.

Both could be benched in the same game ... both could play .... I would spread the risk and get Kun, a mid & Laporte rather than having all your eggs in the City attacking basket.

Other nailed attacking players from Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal, Spurs etc will match the rotation threatened City attackers

I think it's a good call. David Silva will play, especially with KDB and possibly Bernardo Silva out. Sterling may sit out the odd game but when you have a player of his quality who is able to return 21 points in a single game week, it's worth getting on board.

Definitely 2. Fraser is still dangerous despite bad upcoming fixtures, especially hold if you bought early. Not sold on Martial at all, seriously over-performing and expecting him to blank most weeks. Not expecting Success to return against Liverpool, whereas you should take advantage of Jimenez' best possible 2 upcoming fixtures. Hope that's helped!

    Patricio -- Foster
Alonso Robbo Doherty -- Schindler Awb
Salah Haz Rich Maddison -- Camarassa
    Kun Arnie Ings

A: Foster (doubt will use him next 3 gw's) + Ings >> Hamer + Jimenez
    B: Maddison (may not start + price drop) + Ings > Schurrie/Wally + Jimenez
    C: Robbo + Maddison + Ings >> Digne + Martial + Jimenez (-4)
    D: Schindler + Maddison + Ings >> Dunk (good 3 fix) + Martial + Success (-4) and play 442

For those contemplating the Arnie v Bennett final spot in starting XI dilemma..

Arnie goal vs best defence in the league (unlikely) = 6 points and won’t be getting any bonus with the City lads bound to dominate

Bennett clean sheet vs one of the worst attacks in the league (likely) = 6 points and chance of bonus with central defenders dominating BAPS against Huddersfield. Bennett was also on for max bonus along with Doherty before conceding to Arsenal in the 84th minute last GW. Also carries goal threat from set pieces

Conclusion: both potentially get 2 points, however, Bennett is the logical decision here

Agree - it is a great fixture and Man City have just one goal conceded from open play.
Just out of interest Irbox, would you play Arnie over Duffy or Kenedy? Have to pick one to play and bench two.

Tough one. I would be tempted by Kenedy! Monday night football good for the rank. Coin toss though between the three of them

Yes, no clear answer. Duffy possibly has the highest ceiling, but Monday night is a lure.

Vardy out is a huge bonus for Brighton who are normally very tight at the Amex! Good option mate, good luck!

Also Bennett has been inches off a goal if it was not for Ryan, he has a goal threat as well

Hi, please choose one to PLAY
    A. Arnie vs MCI
    B. Bennett vs HUD (have Patricio + Doherty)

    Cheers, sorry repost

That is tricky. I'd be tempted with B - if it comes off you will have a monster week. Arnie probably has a six point ceiling this week anyway (no promises!).
