Bennett benched as Cardiff match Wolves’ 3-4-3 formation

Owners of budget defender Ryan Bennett (£4.2m) will be disappointed to see that he was named on the bench for Wolves’ trip to Cardiff City.

The two newly-promoted sides both turned heads with their team-sheets as they prepare to kick off Gameweek 14 of Fantasy Premier League.

Bennett has been replaced in the back-three by versatile Moroccan international Romain Saïss (£4.2m) while Adama Traore (£5.3m) gets just his second league start of the campaign.

Naturally, popular options Rui Patrício (£4.6m), Matt Doherty (£4.9m) and Raúl Jiménez (£5.9m) all retained their starting places.

Meanwhile, Neil Warnock has matched his opposite number by deploying his Cardiff side in a 3-4-3 formation.

Sean Morrison (£4.7m), Sol Bamba (£4.5m) and Bruno Ecuele Manga (£4.5m) make up the back three with Junior Hoilett (£5.0m) and Harry Arter (£4.9m) as the left and right wing-backs respectively.

Josh Murphy (£4.8m) and Victor Camarasa (£4.5m) are the wide forwards either side of Callum Paterson (£5.2m).

Cardiff City XI (3-4-3): Etheridge; Bamba, Morrison, Manga; Hoilett, Ralls, Gunnarsson, Arter; Murphy, Paterson, Camarasa.

Wolves XI (3-4-3): Patrício; Boly, Coady, Saïss; Vinagre, Moutinho, Neves, Doherty; Costa, Jiménez, Traore.

      This isn't highsight but he never looked like a premier league player and a lot of his goals weren't very good. He scored so well because of the team around him, I looked into it a lot

        I understand. Extreme example but I’ve heard ppl saying never take a gk out on a hit/ waste a transfer on a keeper

          Obviously take the hit if you know the player is going to get 2 penalty saves and outscore your keeper by 30 points or more in the coming games

              🙂 I don't think anyone's content with strings of 2 points, but it exascerbates the problem to throw away 4 more points. If you think the hit is worth it, then there's nothing wrong with taking the hit, but there's no point doing it just to change things up a bit. Previous points don't predict future points very well at all.

          This is why I set and forget with Eddy. Juggling keepers consumes transfers and if you have two playing you run the risk of picking the wrong one

      I find there's still a huge aversion to spending more than 4.5 on a GK - folks normally cite value and save points as the main incentives for a 4.5 - but Ederson & Allison are both matching & exceeding the 4.5's on value - on a 20% higher baseline cost which makes those two guys an even bigger bargain.

      DDG did the business handsomely for two thirds of last season, and Ederson/Allison are doing it this season - it's worth paying the little extra imo rather than trying to win the 4.5 lottery every week between Fabianski / Ryan / Patricio / Hennesey/ Hart etc

        Definitely. DDG spoiled us last season. I feel that ppl overlook how a well scoring gk can slowly chip away at rising up ranks
