Aguero absent from squad as Man City host Bournemouth

Pep Guardiola has left Sergio Aguero (£11.5m) out of Manchester City’s matchday squad to face Bournemouth entirely.

That is because he has a minor injury that he does not want to risk worsening.

“He has a muscular disturbance. He is not I believe fit. It would be risky (to play him) the doctors and physios tell me. We don’t want to take that risk.” – Pep Guardiola

It is a no-show that will heavily effect the outcome of Fantasy Premier League Gameweek 14 with the Argentinian striker a strong captain candidate.

Gabriel Jesus (£10.1m) starts up front in his place while Raheem Sterling (£11.4m) keeps his place in the starting XI.

David Silva (£8.7m) left on the bench as Fernandinho (£5.4m), Ilkay Gundogan (£5.4m) and Bernardo Silva (£7.5m) all started in midfield, with Leroy Sané (£9.3m) operating on the left.

Meanwhile, John Stones (£5.3m) missed out at the expense of Nicolas Otamendi (£6.1m) again and Oleksandr Zinchenko (£4.8m) started at left-back in place of Fabian Delph (£5.3m).

Opponents Bournemouth dropped a surprise of their own with David Brooks (£5.1m) left on the bench.

Crystal Palace named an unchanged side from the one that drew 0-0 at Manchester United while Johann Berg Gudmundsson (£5.9m) returned to the Burnley line-up and James Tarkowski (£4.7m) is back from injury on the bench.

Huddersfield lined-up in their favoured 3-5-1-1 formation while Brighton have left Glenn Murray (£6.7m) on the bench.

Jamie Vardy (£8.9m) returns to the Leicester City side while James Maddison (£6.8m) keeps his place despite being sent off in Gameweek 13. His one-match suspension was served in the League Cup midweek.

Isaac Success (£4.6m) is back in the Watford line-up with Troy Deeney (£5.9m) going back to the bench. The Nigerian international starts up front with Gerard Deulofeu (£5.4m) again.

“Today we feel Isaac and Gerard in the beginning may be better but we know Troy and Andre will be ready if we need them.” – Javi Gracia

Jose Holebas (£4.7m) also comes back in after missing Gameweek 13 with a calf injury.

Finally, Jamaal Lascelles (£4.7m) is fit enough for a return only to the Newcastle bench, while Javier Manquillo (£4.4m) starts in place of Ciaran Clark (£4.5m), who is also among the substitutes.

Their opponents West Ham line-up with both Marko Arnautovic (£7.1m) and Javier ‘Chicharito’ Hernandez (£6.2m) as well as Andy Carroll (£5.4m) back on the bench.

Robert Snodgrass (£5.3m) makes an immediate return from suspension but Grady Diangana (£4.5m) is not even in the matchday squad.

Listening on the radio, his name has barely been mentioned. It's all Sane, Jesus and Silva

Wait until the 2nd half. Pep will tell them exactly how to take apart Bournemouth.

Went Sterling captain too, it makes sense.

I’m guessing the same reason I did. Figured this game would have a lot more goals than the derby would.

Personal form, team form, fixture. It was the right call regardless of the result, if you made a well justified decision.

If you’re at a loss because you’re happy with the squad, then let it ride! Sometimes the best move is not to move at all. The most pressing concern for you might just be Patrício. Swapping him for Fab or Hennessey and bank a transfer into the weekend might be your best play.

It's quite simple. Sane hit the ball against Begovic which then came to Silva who scores.

Just how Jiminez got his assist last night.

If Sane doesn't get the assist Jiminez's needs to be removed.

It’s not whether he “hit the ball against” its whether it was judged a shot (assist) or failed cross (no assist)

No it's not. The rules on the website say:

"An assist is awarded whether the pass was intentional (that it actually creates the chance) or unintentional (that the player had to dribble the ball or an inadvertent touch or shot created the chance)."
