FPL Breakfast Club – Who Got the Assist?

Join us for the latest episode of Fantasy Premier League Breakfast Club this morning.

We’ve got Tom and Nick, both halves of popular podcast Who Got the Assist, on the show this week to discuss Gameweeks 14 and 15.

We will be live on air between 11:15am and 11:45am on our YouTube channel, but you can also watch the show embedded in this article below.

The Gameweek deadline has already long-passed with Cardiff beating Wolves on Friday night but there is still plenty to chew over ahead of today’s matches.

We will hear about the moves that Joe, David, Nick and Tom thought about and which ones they actually did in the recent days.

Then we’ll have a tentative look forward to Gameweek 15 which starts in just a few days.

With no lunch-time match we sadly won’t be able to bring you any team news either. You’ll have to wait until next week for that!

It's highly unlikely that Aguero is rested for today's game, when resting him for an away fixture midweek where the stats suggest he'll blank is a far more logical gameplan.

Jesus might also be back for midweek. Now, Bernardo Silva is another matter... is he back in contention? I'm goosed if Kun Kun and Hazard are both crocked or benched... forgot to move the (V)

Pep doesn’t care about Aguero “blanking” - he cares about city winning and will do anything to any player that comes into that bald fraud head of his

Just waking up to this “news”. But didn’t this Journalist Jamie Jackson predict something big earlier in the season and get it completely wrong?

I chickened out and switched my captain to Eriksen that week. Kun returned a 40 point haul for those who capped him and I got a big fat Eriksen (c) blank.

"when resting him for an away fixture midweek where the stats suggest he'll blank is a far more logical gameplan."

That's not how Pep does his team selection. For Pep, Aguero is equally valuable home and away. In away games, the teams try to come out and a have a little go at City which bodes well for the wide men and Dilva/Bilva as the defenders are busy marking Aguero.

      1. CroatianHammer

Dilva and Bilva... I'm using that from now on...

I also think that Aguero had a great game on Wednesday and he's going to be hyped for a home match with a possible cricket score on the line... He'll make his case.

And yes, Pep is a tad odd... but when you've done what he's done, I suppose you're allowed to be.

What to do with my FT? Right now I do not see any two changes to make. Maybe I could do Patrício to Fabianski (given his great fixtures GW 21) and save the other FT.
Any other possibilities that people see?

    2 FTs and 0.0 ITB
    Patricio
    Alonso - Robertson - Digne
    Salah - Hazard - Fraser - Martial
    Aguero - Arnautovic - Mitrovic

Bench: Hamer; AWB - Billing - Doherty

Is two non-playing outfield bench players too risky?

If not then I can have this on a WC:

    Lloris Boruc
    TAA Alonso WB Doherty Peltier*
    Mane Hazard DSilva Sane Kenedy
    Kane Arnie Kamara*

I'd probably be going for 3-5-2 or 4-4-2. If a defender doesn't play in 3-5-2, then fourth playing defender would come on. If a defender doesn't play in 4-4-2, then kenedy would come on.

            • 10 Years

but if 2 of your defenders goes missing, you will be down to 10 men. looking at worst case scenario obviously.

kenedy looks like a 2-3pts players anyway, so not much in it

I broke my golden rule. I never vice captain a player in the same game as my captain in case the game is called off. Like when Everton’s scoreboard fell down.

I do not think there is much need for a golden rule like that as the chances are minuscule especially when there is no chance of a storm or anything.

With an average of 57 minutes per gameweek, 1 assist and zero goals in fourteen appearances, having been dropped to the bench and returning 1.79 points per week, it’s fair to say that Diogo Jota hasn’t quite lived up to his pre-season hype.

Every time TAA has LOOKED nailed, Lovren or Gomez was injured. When both are fit, TAA becomes a bigger rotation risk than even Gomez

Moreno will play just one midweek match or so in December. Nowhere near competing with Robertson

Come on - guess your Man City lineup. My guess for today and for Watford:

vs BOU: Ederson; Walker, Kompany, Laporte, Delph; Gundogan, Bernardo, Stones; Sane, Jesus, Mahrez

vs wat: Ederson; Danilo, Stones, Otamendi, Delph; Silva, Fernandinho, Gundogan; Sterling, Ageruo, Mahrez

Honestly a City midfield of Stones Gundogan and Bernardo Silva with Sane, Mahrez and Jesus ahead of them would get dominated by Bournemouth.

Sane will play both these then miss Chelsea imo.
He hasn't played vs a top side yet. Mahrez gets those so far for some reason.

My predictions for City attackers these next 3 game weeks:

    BOU (H): Sane-Aguero-Mahrez
    WAT (A): Sterling-Jesus-Mahrez
    CHE (A): Sane-Aguero-Sterling

    Let's see.

      Wrong.

Sane has been a flat track bully this season. Mahrez is preferred for the big games, with Sane coming on late in the games vs tired legs.

But that was when Mendy was available. They need Sane against Chelsea if Delph is playing as a left back.

A quick inquiry before prematch meltdown

    A) Aguero + Doherty --> Kane + Aguero (Keep salah for now)
    B) Salah + Martial + Jimenez -> Kane + Sane + Brooks (Keep Aguero) -4
    C) Salah + Aguero --> Kane + Sterling (Martial to Sane later)
